Is there any way of reaching Mosonmagyrovar directly form Bratislava (or Bratislava airport) by any kind of public transport? I know only about a train once per day leaving around 3 am and arriving around 5 am (and travelling 30 km for almost 2 hours). This train is the only one appering to be direct and not passing through Komarno or Gyor and neither the Slovak nor the Hungarian rail websites give any price for that train. There also seems to be no buses , at least the Hungarian and Slovak bus websites don't show any. I find it hard to believe that these cities situated so close have only that way of transportation.
Please can anyone tell me about any way to reach Mosonmagyarovar from Bratislava?

Hi! Does anyone know a nice hairdresser in or around Sopron or Köszeg? It doesn't have to be very hip but I don't want to look like my grandmother after the visit ;)

Hi Please can someone tell me the best route (fastest/cheapest) to get from Sopron to Bratislava?

I have found several train routes (Sopron - komaron - komarno - bratislava), and lots of suggested train routes from Elvira and ZSR. But they all take several hours.

Are there any busses? Maybe via Vienna? or Gyor?

Where are the best places to swim in Sopron & Gyor? Are there any lakes nearby (within walking/cycling distance).

Are there any public swimming pools within walking distince and, if so, how much do they cost and are they male/female only like the baths in Budapest or just normal pools?

Also, are there any places to hire boats?

I will be visiting Sopron next month. I don't speak any Hungarian, but of course I will try to learn 'please, thankyou, hello' and other simple words before I go.

For more complicated things, how difficult will it be to make myself understood in English? Do many people speak English in that area?

I am guessing lots of people will speak German rather than English as it is so close to Austria. My German is terrible!! I can speak French, but I don't suppsoe this will be much use?

I will be staying in Sopron from 5/7/06-7/7/06. I was told by several hotels I tried that there is a festival this weekend and that is why lots of the hotels are full.
Does anyone have any information on this festival and what is happening that weekend? Is it just music in theatres, or will there be public activities in the streets & parks?
Any info would be great as I can't find anything on teh Sopron website

I will be in Sopron the day after tomorrow and due to a special situation I will need to have photos developed very quickly in Sopron.

So my question is, is there any place in Sopron where I can have photos developed from Wednesday morning until Thursday morning (24 hours) ?

If you do not know, can you give me a hint how I could find out, this would be very important to me.

I am going to Mosonmagyarovar in Dec/ Jan this year. What to do and see there? Activities anyone recommends, sights and trips? Any information greatly appreciated!

I am gonna visit the town in this May for a week. But I am more interested in visiting the Budapest area and not sure how convienient to go to Budapest from the town. Is there a train or bus from there to Budapest? If it does, how long does it take or how often is the transportation available and approximately how much does it cost? Do I have to rent a car during my visit or I better rent a car for better convinience?
