I will be in Bucharest in about 10 days and am staying overnight in the Carpati Hotel, where I have stayed many times before en route to Targu Jiu. This time is different however, because my 29 yr old daughter will be with me, and I want her to enjoy her first visit to Romania on what will be my 21st visit. I know Bucharest centre reasonably well, but I'm not not so au fait with the location of the best bars. I plan to take her to the Vatra restaurant opposite the Carpati, but then I would like to move on to a few good bars or pubs that are not too far away, but to be honest I don't really know of any in that part of town. Anybody got any suggestions?

I will arrive at Bucharest with the Bus, unfortunelly at Autogara Rahova, most probably late in the night (between 23:00-02:00) and with a bike. I doubt that I will find any public transport at that time which is also going to take my bike. I could ride through the city with the bike to come to a hotel, which I'm not sure is a good decision, or I could wait at the station in Rahova until morning.

Does anyone have a good idea of what I should do? Does anyone know the Rahova Bus Station, is it possible to wait there in a building on a bank until the morning? How safe is it to ride with the bike in the night trough the city?

I'll be traveling to Bucharest from late June to early July for a business trip. I should have two days off to visit different places outside Bucharest for sightseeing. I wonder where I can find some private or personal tourist guide who can provide English interpretation as well as transportation? Any info will be appreciated.

The latest posting with airport to hotel transfer advice was 2007. I'm looking for latest advice on best way to get two 60's something people, each with a suitcase, to the hotel from the airport. It would be great to take a bus, but with suitcase and carry-on? And we don't know our way around Bucharest.

Is it possible to take the metro from Baneasa airport to the centre of Bucharest (near the Museum Of History And Art)?

Hi everyone...can someone tell me what is the best way for me to get to the Opteni Airport from the main train station? I'm planning on taking an overnight train from Iasi that will arrive at 6:30am, and my flight leaves at 9:00am...I think this is cutting it a bit close. Is this enough time? How long will it take to get there?

So, can I take public transportation that early in the AM, or should I take a taxi (and how much would a taxi cost, do you think?)??

Does anyone know if there is luggage storage at the Bucharest train station, and if so how much it costs/day? I need to store a bag for a few weeks (probably 3-4), and I will pick it up when I fly out of Bucharest back to the States. Does anyone have any other advice for where I can CHEAPLY store a bag for that long?? Thanks for your help!

We will arrive in Otopeni (Henri Coanda) Airport at 07:55 am and we need to get the bus from Autogara Militari at 11:00 am to Sibiu.
Can anybody tell us how to get to the Autogara Militari from the airport by bus or public transport?
Or any better solution with reasonable cost to go to Sibiu from the airport?

Which(bus-tram)number do I take and where do I have to stop ? What do I have to see, and where will I eat? Never have been in this country before.

i am enjoying my time in bucharest between university and fun .....

i would likto travel to HUNGARY and to SZEGED exactly for sometime and my question what is the best and the shortest way to go ...

i know there is a train goes to budapest but it would be long way if i go by train as the train goes directly -as i know- to budapest then i need to go back to szeged (because szeged in closer to romania ..just around half an hour from the romanian-hungarian borders)

so what is the best-shortest wa to go train or bus or ......

i heard that i can take the train from bucharest to arad .. then i can tke a taxi or a bus from arad to szeged ...... is that true and possible ??

We will be spending 5 days in Bucharest. Would like to find the name of a good agent to use for hotels and day trips. Can anyone recommend a good hotel that also has breakfast included, saves time in the morning when your running out to catch a tour.

we are looking forward to visit Steaua Bucharest game in april 2009, when coming to Bucharest. Can anybody tell how we can buy tickets in advance or is the only way to buy them in stadionkiosk before the game. I can also see that the scedule for spring isnīt come yet, so we really donīt know when to come (the main event for us is the match). There will be 6-10 guys in our group. If got some information about other Bucharest teams, Rapid & Dinamo we are also intrested in that.
