Ancona Trains and rental car locations
Posted: Mon June 15, 2009 07:39 AM UTC
I'm coming in to Ancona from Venice by train. Is there more than one train station? And my rental car location says "downtown". How far away is the rental car pick-up from the train station? Are there any rental car companies that rent directly from the train station?

Please advise.

I'm trying to get to Ancona for the ferry to Zadar. Is this possible from venice and if so, how long does it take and how much? I'll arrive in Venice at about 10 or 11 in the morning. Will this leave me enough time to get to the ferry? I don't even know when the ferry is...

Ancona Car Rental near port

We will be on a cruise stopping in Ancona for a day (12 hours)in May. We would like to rent a car to visit some wineries near Ancona. Are there any car rentals near the port where cruise ships dock? If not how far is the airport where cars will be available and what is the best way, and the cost, to get to the airport?

Marche Where to visit on the coast?
Posted: Wed August 6, 2008 01:35 PM UTC
Three of us will be visiting Italy soon. My friend really wants to have a bit of time at the beach. She loves to swim and lay on the beach. We are looking for a clean, beautiful place that isn't too crowded. My husband and I aren't as into the beach thing as she is. If there were some interesting places around if we get board that would be great too. We will start in Venice and then visit San Marino. Then we will be spending 3 nights on the coast before turning inland to go to Rome. Where to go? Any ideas? OH! We are also looking for SUPER, UBER CHEAP! Anyone have a back yard where we could set up our tent??? :-)
Thanks for the help.

Pesaro Bus from Pesaro to Urbania and back
Posted: Fri May 30, 2008 11:21 PM UTC
My sister will be attending the Scuola-Italia in lovely Urbania. The school is making arrangements for her but I will be arriving later. I’ll fly into Bologna and take the train to Pesaro and probably arrive around 16:04.

I have read there is bus service from Pesaro to Urbania but I can't find anything else about it. Does the bus company have a website that shows schedules and prices? If you happen to know what bus I would take in Pesaro and approximately how much it might cost, this will be helpful!

When the school session is over, we want to visit Roma and need to return by bus to Pesaro to take the train at about 13:16 on Sunday, 10 August. Do the buses from Urbania to Pesaro run on Sunday?

I appreciate your help. Please let me know what you can. Grazie!

Ancona Hotel recommendation for Saturday night in July
Posted: Sun April 27, 2008 12:09 AM UTC
We arrive in Ancona from Split at around 9.30 pm on a Saturday night and will be leaving by train to Roma the next day. Have checked out hotels and although the Jolly Hotel is close to the harbour, it appears that there is a steep climb up steps to the hotel, which is not ideal with luggage. We have also checked out the Fortuna Hotel, which is close to the station and could be ok, but not particularly pleasant. I gather that the Fortuna is a kilometer away from the port, and I have read that often there are not many taxis available.... is it an easy walk at night?
Hoping that someone can give me some good advice, Thanking you in advance.

Marche Temps in Marche in September/October
Posted: Sun June 17, 2007 10:09 PM UTC
Hi there,

I am thinking about going to Marche this year, probably in September and October, travelling by car.

What is the wheather like in that time of the year ? According to different sites the temps are between 13 and 20 C with some small chance for rain.
Is that true ? If I want a bit more sunshine it is probably better to travel more south of going to Sardegna or Sicilia ?

Thanx in advance,
