I know there have already been questions like this in this forum, but I haven't found any helpful answer so far, so I'm trying again:
which place would you recommend to spent new year's eve in Budapest?
do you have any suggestion for a nice pub or for any event on new year's eve?
To sum up: where to go in Budapest on new year's eve?
Thank you very much for your suggestions! :-)

Eating out on christmas eve and christmas night Posted: Tue December 18, 2007 08:58 PM UTC
Hi,
Can anyone recomend somewhere nice to dine out on christmas eve and christmas night that will have a a la carte menu?
I have looked on various websites but as I will be a first time visitor to Budapest and the sheer volume of choice is a little bewildering.
I will be staying at the intercontinental, but we don't mind a walk or getting a cab.
Thanks,Cat

Where to go for New Year eve? Posted: Mon December 17, 2007 05:38 AM UTC
Hi everybody,
I will be in Budapest for New Year eve and I'm not able to find on internet a nice place where I can make a reservation for a dinner + party.
-I'm looking for a place where I can have a nice dinner (not a buffet).
-I would like to hear also some jazz, folk or klezmer music
-I will not be in Budapest before December 30th, so I must be able to make a reservation by mail or buy a ticket with visa
-I can't pay more than 30 000 ft (200 US)for one person
Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance

Pecs to or from Belgrade?? Posted: Thu December 13, 2007 06:59 AM UTC
I'm trying to get to Pecs on a trip I'm making down to Belgrade... but all the research I've done says I'll probably have to go to Budapest, and then backtrack. Does anyone know about a bus, or even two trains/busses that might make the journey a little more direct?
Any help you can offer me would be very much appreciated.

trains from Budapest to Prague Posted: Mon December 10, 2007 05:54 PM UTC
Hi,
I will be travelling on sunday 30/12/07 on the 09.30 train 170 from Budapest to Prague.I have read that it will be quiet a bit cheaper to book my trip in two legs, budapest to Sturovo and then to prague and it is the same train,So I will not have to worry about dragging my luggage about. My questions are can I just turn up on the day and purchase my tickets or should I book in advance? and are you given a seat number on your ticket and will I have to change seats in sturovo?I have the prices quoted about buying the two tickets but how much would a oneway ticket be on that train?
Thanks,
Cat

Design Mall in Pest Posted: Thu November 29, 2007 01:28 AM UTC
I was in Budapest for a few months last year and have lost track of a place I want to see again when I return in March. I found a design mall in Pest. It had a great Philippe Starck exhibit and lots of stores full of great stuff for houses. The lunch place in it was lovely. It was in an area of apartment buildings and not a fancy upscale neighborhood. I found a description in a design magazine and zipped out to it. I cannot remember the name of the place or where I was. Does anyone know this place?

Budapest to Belgrade Posted: Wed November 28, 2007 04:12 PM UTC
I need to get from Budapest to Belgrade early next thursday and back again the friday morning to make a flight at 17:10pm. I have heard mentioned a company called Gea Tours who do mini bus trips. Are they are a good/reliable company to use? Where do I book them? Are there any alternatives to get me there and back on time?
Thanks

A weird spa question Posted: Fri November 16, 2007 02:16 PM UTC
I want to visit a spa during my stay and I just want to learn the customs. Here in Turkiye (Turkey), we bring our towels, soap, shampoo to Turkish baths. But also the spa offers these kind of things if you don't have. How is the custom in Budapest?
And we have two kinds of baths here. One is for common use. There are many places for bathing in a main hall with (or without) a swimming pool. These common baths are only for women or men, not both of them. The other is more private. You rent small cabins with a dressing room and bathroom for your family or a group. I want to visit Gellert and I'd like to know what to expect before I go there. Which one do they have? I ask this here, because I couldn't find it in Gellert's web page and spasbudapest.com.

Spending Florints Posted: Thu November 15, 2007 10:49 PM UTC
Hello,
I've no idea how much things cost in Hungary.
How many Florints should I take with me for a two night stop in Budapest?
Two evening meals, two coffee and snacks, a museum/gallery, trams, three or four drinks, and a cuddly toy.
Thanks.
