My mother in law lived in Oradea before WW-II when it was part of Hungary. She lived in a street called Rimanoczi Utca, which was going to a Piazza called Bemer Ter, Where the theater was. Can anyone tell me what are the new names of the street and the piazza?

next week on august 10th, we will arrive in oradea at noon or in the evening coming from hungary by train. where can we get a bed to sleep? are there people offering private rooms? where can we find them. we don't have the money to stay in a hotel so private rooms would be an alternative. it's our first time in oradea and in romania. have you got any advices for us? is there anything important i should know when i come there?

What is the average rent for an apartment, fully furnished and heated for someone living on their own?
How much should be budgeted for food and services per month?
What is the University like? Has it got a good reputation?
Is it easy for foreigners to get by in Oradea? English freely spoken?
IS their any hidden charges/pitfalls I should look out for?
Is it fairly safe for a woman living by herself?
Any areas that should be avoided?
Does anyone know anything about the medical degree?
What do you think would the effect be on the cost of living/ education fees when Romania join the EU?

If I move to Oradea it would be for 6 years, so any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated as this would be a life changing decision for me.

month and with good deals it doesnt matter if they are in Romanian.
Also how much does a laptop or desktop cost in Oradea, are they in monthly
payments, how much does it cost the internet conection DSL or higher. Are
appartments prepared for the strong winters, how are they maintained heated.
Is it expensive to maintain your appartment warm. Romanian classes are
expensive, how much? I'll like to learn very fast to communicate easier in

I'm from México they are ofering me 9,000 RON (3,000USD)monthly, I have 3 doughters 2, 3 and 10 years old and my wife.
- What is the salary rate for Industrial Engineers in Oradea?
- What is the average cost of renting a house of at least 3 bedrooms in a good zone?
- What is the average cost of groceries for a family of 5 (monthly)?
- What is the average cost of Services like water, electricity, gas, internet, cable, etc.
- What is the average cost of having a brand new small car?
- What is the cost of transportation?
- What is the cost of Kindergarden and Elementary Schools? are they good?
- The public schools are good?
- The medical hospitals are good?
- What is the cost of a good dinner per person in a good restaurant?
- Are there fun places for kids?
I think with this questions I could have a better idea if the offer is good or bad.

I'm going to stay with this girl at her parents house. I meet her online almost 2 years ago on Yahoo Messenger. I have also become friends with her brother. I'm leaving sometime this March. Going to stay 2-3 weeks. I'm American and I'm flying to Budapest because its $100 cheaper than flying straight to Romania. Then I'm taking a bus to Transylvaina. A round trip ticket only costs $627 and I have about $800 dollars. Ok finally my questions. :) Should $800 be enough for this trip since I'm staying with a Romanian family instead of a hotel and she said they will take care of everything like food etc. all I have to worry about is the travel. I think I read somewhere that you have to have $100 for everyday you plan on staying in Romania to show to them or they won't let you stay there or something. So will I have to have $1400 for staying 2 weeks or $2100 for 3 weeks. I have read the reason they do that is to make sure you will have enough money to afford hotels food and travel expenses. Also what do you guys think about the whole ideal? Thanks a lot.
