Krakov for living Posted: Tue October 27, 2009 10:20 PM UTC
Hello,
A bit outside of traveling. I'm considering moving to Krakow. I already heard it is really nice city, that there is lot of bar/pubs (but I'm not a heavy drinker so...)
So for the one who visited, do you think it would be a place where you would live ?
How social are the people there ?
Thanks

Krakow in a day Posted: Mon September 28, 2009 03:55 AM UTC
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if you could suggest some "must sees" in Krakow in just one day - we were going to have more than this, but unfortunatly we had some problems with our flights and we're planning to see Auschwitz on our second day.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Statues - JP II and Lenin Posted: Tue September 1, 2009 06:44 AM UTC
Could anyone please tell me who designed the following statues;
1. John Paul II, the one in the Wawel grounds.
2. The now gone Lenin statue that once stood in Nova Huta.
Thanks.
(I have previously been informed of Professor Czesław Dźwigaj but I don't think this is correct.)

Currency in Poland/bus transfer from airport Posted: Wed July 1, 2009 08:55 PM UTC
Hello
I have a few questions on Krakow which I would be grateful if anyone could answer.
1. Is the Euro accepted in Poland or will I need Polish Zloty? (I know
that Poland has not yet adopted the Euro but I believe that some
countries where the Euro is not the currency, do often accept it).
2 What bus do I need to get from Krakow airport from the centre and where
does it stop in Krakow centre?
Does it stop anywhere near Wielopole Street?
If not, which tram or bus to get from the main train station to
Wielopole and which number bus/tram would I need?
3. What time do the buses/trams start running in a morning back to the
airport?
Sorry for so many questions, but any answers would be gratefully received.
Thanks

How to get to Krakow for 6th European VT Meeting on 28-30 May 2010? Posted: Sat June 20, 2009 02:37 AM UTC
Please share with me and others information on how are you going to get to the 6th official European Virtual Tourist Meeting which will take place in krakow on 28-30 May 2010?
I put some info on my homepage but I need your help to update it. Just a few specific questions:
- how to find out the best air fares to Krakow from overseas (Australia, USA, Canada, Argentina, South Africa etc. etc.)?
- when and where to book flights to Krakow?
- what internet pages do you use to find your flights?
Best regards,
And again: you are welcome to Krakow very much! :-)

krakow nighlife Posted: Tue April 7, 2009 09:55 AM UTC
Hello fellow travelers,
I really need your help as to bars and nightclubs.
We a с company of 9 people (both lovers friends) and we spend 2 evenings in Krakow.
Please, recommend some nice places. Something cosy homelike with pleasant music for beer or coffee and some fun or alternative for night.
I know there are plenty or really great places in Krakow. But this time it has to match everybody =)
Music preferred - rock, indie, disco, lounge (no hip hop and r’n’b)
Age – we are from 21 to 27 years old and some of us starve for crazy dances and some would be happy to stay at the say place but just have a beer and listen to music…
Yeah… I guess this could be difficult question, however I will highly appreciate any of your comments or suggestions =)
Happy travels,
Ana

Tickets Office schedule at Train Station Posted: Tue March 24, 2009 11:36 AM UTC
Dear All,
I'll arrive to Krakow on 18.04.2009 about midnight.
And I kindly ask you to answer the following question:
-on 19.04(Sunday evening) I would like to travel by train to Bratislava
(through the night). How can I buy tickets taking into account that I arrive
very late on Saturday evening. I am not sure whether tickets office at
Station work so late and specially on Saturday. Probably it's possible to
buy the tickets on Sunday, but I am not sure again whether they work on Sunday
or not.
Please let me know.
Thank you.

Surprise Birthday Trip! Posted: Mon March 23, 2009 11:40 PM UTC
My sister and I have arranged to take our mum to Krakow for her 60th birthday in June '09. She has no idea where we are taking her...she will think its Liverpool, UK because that's where were flying from. Anyway, I would be really grateful if some kind person could give us the best transport info from the airport to Bluebells Apartments, Starowisina 22, Krakow 31-032. Also, the best places to visit ? Unsure about Auswitz (don't know how to spell it), it may be too disturbing for a "birthday treat"...all info & advice would be appreciated.
P.s My mum's dad came from Poland to England after the war, so its going to be quite a nostalgic trip for her...
Thanks

Auschwitz tour, not rushed?? Posted: Wed March 18, 2009 05:27 AM UTC
We only have 1 day in Krakow. We're there to see Auschwitz. I read reviews that all say the same thing- tour was ok, but felt rushed. Any tours that weren't rushed? Maybe some that give you a little time at the end to look around? Thanks

Translator needed Posted: Fri March 13, 2009 08:56 PM UTC
We are escorting a medical patient home to his family in Krakow and need someone who speaks fluent in Polish and English to assist the family in knowing how to care for their father. We just need 30 minutes of someone's time who can meet us at the airport, do some instructions in from English to Polish, and that is all. This is a charity case, and any help is appreciated. I will be happy to compensation someone for their time.

traveling to Berlin Posted: Fri March 6, 2009 03:38 PM UTC
Just wondering: What is the quickest, easiest, and relatively least expensive way to travel from Krakow to Berlin? I see that the train takes somewhere around 12 hours, and wonder if there are any other good options to get from one city to the other without spending a small fortune.
Many thanks!
