Strasbourg No budget hotels available in Dec weekends and train to Brussels
Posted: Sun September 20, 2009 08:14 PM UTC
I am dismayed to find that all the budget hotels seem to be full the weekend of Dec. 4. Is that because of the Christmas markets?

Since I can't find an affordable room on Friday Dec 4, I thought we'd go to Brussels earlier in our itinerary than planned, but I am having difficulty planning this route. I'd like to leave early evening 12/4 from Strasbourg to either Brussels or Gent (or alternately, stop in Luxemberg City for the night, catch a couple of sight in the morning, and continue on). Has anyone done this? Can you please advise me for cheapest and quickest options? Many thanks!

Alsace From Strasbourg to Paris
Posted: Wed April 1, 2009 09:38 AM UTC
Hello!

We are going to Paris with car in the end of April. First we will stop in Strasbourg. Which way is better to go to Paris from Strasbourg? Highways are probably very expensive. I'd prefer to go where is something to see on the way, that we can make a nice driving break.

Thanks for advice!

My friends and I are staying in Mulhouse (as base for Christmas markets) the week of Christmas. What are the local Alsacien traditions on Christmas Eve and Christmas day? We want to have a special holiday dinner, but would like recommendations on the best time and restaurant. We want to experience the local traditions. Thanks.

Colmar Means of transport in Colmar surroundings
Posted: Sun October 12, 2008 02:07 AM UTC
I would like to visit Colmar and sourroundings in the first week of December.
Do you know where I can find information and timetables about buses connecting Colmar to the villages on the Wine Route?
I'm interested in Ribeauville, Riquewihr and Kaysersberg, in particular.
I found only one line for Ribeauville and Riquewihr (Line 106, few connections a day). I wonder if you know other lines or other cheap means of transport leading to these villages.
Any suggestion such as places and villages to visit are welcome.
Thank you.

hello,
few questions i have, would be grateful if u could help:
what is the best way to arrive to strasbourg from Brussels? is there a train? where can i find the info, and how long does it take?
also, i'd like to know if its better to take the airplane from Frankfurt or Paris when in Strasbourg. I know there are new TGV trains doing the Paris-Strasbourg route, but how expensive are they? Could a german train going to frankfurt be more convenient and cheap?
I would also like a suggestion for places to stay in Str.
thank you very much!!

Strasbourg Driving from Strasbourg to Amiens

I'll be in Strasbourg around mid-may and will be hiring a car to get around the country-side.

I was wondering how long it will take to drive to Amiens and what the average toll price is (I understand there'll be a few along the way).

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Strasbourg Accommodation in Strasbourg
Posted: Fri August 22, 2008 04:51 AM UTC
Hello!

We will be driving from Paris towards Landshut, Germany mid September. Can anyone recommond some good accommodation in Strasbourg (where will will stay overnight on our way to Landshut).

Ideally some accommodation that has parking at the hotel as we will be arriving late and do not wish to park blocks away from accommodation. It is very hard to find any reviews on hotels in these.

Thank you!

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there's any place where I can leave my luggage for a few hours at the Colmar train station.

My husband and I are planning to go there for a couple of hours on our way back to Basel from Strassbourg.

Is the old town walkable from the train station ?

Thanks for your help
