Karlsruhe Open Air Cinema
Posted: Tue June 27, 2006 07:50 PM UTC
Hi,

I saw that an open air cinema runs in July and August in Karlsruhe. Are all films shown in German? I am trying to organise a group activity but many members of the group do not have any German.

Thank you for your help.

Karlsruhe Karlsruhe
Posted: Wed March 1, 2006 07:39 PM UTC
Hello

This may be a silly question, however, I've just found a really cheap flight from Ireland to Karlsruhe and would like to know how far would I have to travel to go ski-ing - well more specifically snowboarding. I have a 13yr old son who would love to do this, and given the airfare (£28 return) if there was anywhere relatively close I would consider taking him in April.

thanks for any advice,

Jacqui

Karlsruhe Accomodation and other queries
Posted: Tue January 24, 2006 05:30 PM UTC
Hi all,
1.
the website karlsruhe.de in its travel/accomodation section lists :
Hotel Handelshof
Reinhold-Frank-Straße 46a
76133 Karlsruhe, Germany
27.00 EUR (incl. VAT)

Hotel Eden
Bahnhofstraße 15 - 19
76137 Karlsruhe, Germany
Official Partner of Karlsruhe
29.00 EUR (incl. VAT)
as the two most economically feasible hotel accomodations.
I wanted to know how good are these and if it is recommended for a stay of 3-4 nights by an undergraduate student visiting Germany for the first time.

Also, can anyone tell me how far these hotels and the youth hostel is from the University of Karlsruhe ?

2. For normal tourist-like activities in the 4 days that I expect to be in Karlsruhe, how much should I budget for ? Like, some routine shopping, some good places to see, and other such normal tourist activities.

3. How far is Hockenheim from Karlsruhe ? I am an F1 fan and I guess I cant come closer than this to a F1 circuit. Is it a feasible option ?

4. How should I carry the money - travellers cheques ? or cash ? [I do not have a credit card :( ] Or any other form ?

Thanks all,
Looking forward to the replies.

Karlsruhe Expenses estimate
Posted: Fri December 30, 2005 05:49 PM UTC
Hi,
I am scheduled to visit Karlsruhe for a conference in early March 2006, and I would appreciate it if you could help with some questions..
Firstly, what is the best way to arrive from Mumbai (india) to Karlsruhe ? How much does it cost to travel from Stuttgart Airport to Karlsruhe ?
Secondly, how much does it cost to live 3/4 days in karlsruhe ? a breakup of acco. + local travel + etc. would be nice..
Thanks a lot,
Supreet.

Karlsruhe Nottingen location
Posted: Fri June 24, 2005 02:12 PM UTC
My family ancestors come from Karlsruhe, Nottingen, Baden according to records I have looked up. I was so disappointed on my recent trip to Germany to be informed that Nottingen does not exist! Therefore, I could not look up any family records and find out anything about my family? Can anyone tell my if Nottingen does still exist and, if not, where it used to be? I need a starting point to begin to verify some family documents. Thanks so much! Hope Young Proksch

Karlsruhe Durlach
Posted: Wed April 13, 2005 07:06 PM UTC
Could anyone tell me what Durlach is like? My great-grandparents emigrated from there, and the only information I can find is the simple statement that it is "a suburb of Karlsruhe." Thanks in advance for any replies.

as captioned, which airport is close to Karlsruhe? Do those low-cost airlines like Germanwings, Ryan air, etc., operate flights to Karlsruhe? Or any other cities nearby? Many thanks!

Karlsruhe A pre Christmas trip to Karlsruhe
Posted: Tue November 16, 2004 03:43 AM UTC
Hello,

My Husband is being sent to Karlsruhe for training. I will be joining him.. We fly into Franfurt and are renting a car to drive to Karlsruhe. We have never visited before and will only have a week.

I will have the days and the car to myself and I'd like to see some of the surrounding area. We'd liek to get a nice little cukoo clock, and maybe some linens and as I am a perfumer and aromatherapist, I'd like to make contact with an essential oil supplier.

Also we are BIG Christmas People, Hubby is santa Claus so we are interested in the local Culture and customs especially with regard to Christmas Markets, Craft shows etc.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sincerely,
Kalima

Does anybody know of somewhere I can rent for one month in January? It doesn't matter too much where, or how big or small.

Maybe somebody knows somebody who will be away for that month?

Would be very grateful for any help

As I was planning a layover stop back to Karlsruhe I see the Niall is no longer running the Old Dublin.
Does, did, anyone know him well enough that they could tell me what he did and anything about the new place?
