We will be arriving on our cruise ship to corfu for about 7hrs or so.. (1300-2000). How much should I expect to pay for a taxi at the port to take me to Achilleon palace? Are there taxi's available back or should I hire the same one to bring me back to Corfu town?
I will be on a cruise to Corfu for about 5-6 hours. If I would go to visit Corfu town, can I go by myself from the port ? What is the weather like at the end of October ?

Hi everyone
a couple of questions please for our return journey in a couple of weeks.
I was told the cafe facilities once you go through passport control are limited
& it's best to use the one "landside". Is this still the case please?
also one of our pary smokes so we wondered if there is a smoking are once yougo through passport control ?
Hi,can anybody give me a tip how to transfer from Corfu airport to Kassiopi, I just found some shuttle buses on the net, but prices are really crazy. Thank you!
Have reviewed the VT restaurant recs but was wondering if anyone knew of any new interesting (or old and established) restaurants on Corfu. Staying in the main town this September.

We will be flying into Corfu in a couple of weeks and joining a cruise ship so are not too worried about ordering an inflight meal on the outward journey. However, our flight home is early evening and we're wondering whether it's best to book an inflight meal or whether there are restaurants or shops selling sandwiches, drinks, etc in Corfu airport. Just trying to plan ahead.
Many thanks
Kate
Hi,
I am 32 and a single traveller. In 5 days I will be going to or Paleokastrista or Roda, but can't make up my mind. I do not like mass-tourism, but seen that I will be travelling alone, I do want to go to a place were it will not be that difficult to get in contact with other people.
Also, does anybody know a good B and B over there? (adress and telnb?)
hello, we are 2 friends planning to go to corfu this summer , is it too crowed in August? I have senn Corfu is tiny, so if we are looking for something else apart form beach, would 10-15 days be too much? are there any other islands near by to maybe share the time?
thanks
cristina
I'm looking for a warm place to spend a 2-week vacation with my small boys (3 and 4 years old).
Found some really cheap flights to Corfu but am wondering if this is the right place... hence a couple of questions I would appreciate if someone could answer:
- isn't it too hot in August? I love heat but think kids may not like temp > 30 degrees C.
- what is a good spot to stay with small kids?
I would be flying in with my sister and her boyfriend. Ideally I would like to stay in a place with a swimming pool for the kids. This can be a hotel or a flat. Can someone recommend something?
Would it be advantageous to do an excursion from the ship or would we be able to do most things on our own in Kerkyra? We will be coming their in September of 09. There are 8 of us, middle age adults.
we are coming to corfu in May I was wondering if there are many flowers bloeming then?what are the interesting places to visit up it island??Are there special village that we can visit?
thank you
What places do you really like in Corfu? We would be 3 and looking for apartment or aparthotel type of thing near the beach that is a great value and not too expensive. Like 40-80 euros for an apartment for 3. or less?
thank you in advance for your recommendations.
Can anyone help us with obtaining a bus schedule for this trip? I understand that KTEL removed all of their schedules from their website recently.
If this info isn't available, what is the approximate RT taxi fare?
Hi all, any ideas! We are arriving in may for a one day visit to Corfu. I see on the website for the cruise ship, that tours are offered for the Achilleion Palace. We are into walking/taxi/running/bus, whatever it takes. We avoid the trappings of the cruise shis tours. Any simple itineraries anyone can offer that are cheap! And include some interesting not touristy sights. Thanks to anyone who responds! Cheryl in Reno, NV USA
Hi,
Me and hubby are going to Kassiopi in June 2009 and were wondering how busy it gets then and is the weather mainly hot. We are stying right on the harbour at Kissimiss pension/hotel. we are hoping to hire from the the local boat place aswell to spend alot of time on the water, would it be worth it hiring a boat for the week, just the little run around ones which can be had from the harbour.
I would like to know what would be the best way to cover the following places: Corfu->Santorini->Athina->Delphi
I will be flying into Corfu.
Hence following are my questions regarding the route:
1. How long does it take to take a ferry from Corfu to Santorini, and how much does it cost?
2. Santorini to Athina: cost and time. How far is the main sights area in athina from the dock/harbour.
3. Athina to delphi: mode of transport, time and cost?
4. Is olympia a better chice or delphi?
Also, I would like to continue my journey to Italy...so is Athina better to fly out from?
Local Bus Posted: Wed October 1, 2008 06:39 PM UTC
We love to take local busses. Is there a local bus on Corfu that I could take for its entire route to do a somewhat scenic or circular tour of the island? If so, what is its number and where can I board nearest to the cruise port or the centre of town?
Hi I'm off to Dassia 10th October and heard that as its the grape harvest there could be a lot of wasps around. Can anyone please enlighten me on this? Thanks.
Krissy
Hi
I hope someone can help but I have had heard mixed reviews about the weather in Corfu around 20th October.
Am I correct in thinking that it is still hot in the day and needing a cardigan at night? Does it just have showers on and off during this period or is it overcast and rainy for a whole day or so? . Many thanks. Christine
Hi heard somewhere that drugs containing codeine are illegal in Greece, as in certain other countries. My husband is currently taking it for management of knee pain. Will we be allowed to bring it into the country if it is in the original packaging with his name on it, or is it just not allowed? Any help appreaciated.
Thanks
krissy :)
We have booked a week in a villa in September 08 but cannot find any write ups on them.
There are 4 of them in the hills over looking Dassia and are called,
Olympic Villa,,, Odyssey Villa (The one we have booked),,, Nefeli Villa and Aleca Villa.
Anyone been here???
Hi, we will be on a cruise (Princess) In November and we decided to rent a car in Corfu. Do you have any suggestions on places to drive to? We will have about 6 hours there.
Am going to Corfu very soon and would like to know whether it is easy to hail a taxi from the airport (24hrs) and how long long it will take and cost to take us to Ipsos.
We will be staying in the Borghese Pension - has anyone stayed there who can give me an idea of what to expect?
Hello - I'll be in Corfu for 1 day as part of a cruise in October. 7AM - 5PM. They offer a Corfu Coastal Walk tour (4 miles), but I'd like to see if we can do it ourselves. It starts in Nissaki. Does anyone know if buses run there, or if we'd have to get a taxi? (And how readily available they are by the port?)
The walk goes through Agni, Kalami, Kouloura, Kerasia and Agios Stefanos.
I'm not positive we'd be able to find the "path", but if anyone has done this and can give me some advice, it'd be helpful!
