Travelling on Corfu Posted: Thu May 15, 2008 11:21 AM UTC
We are arriving by ship to Corfu. How far is the Old City of Corfu from the ships arrival point?. How would we get to Kassiopi as you have made it sound well worth a visit.
Thanks

Hotel in Kerkyra Town, August Posted: Mon April 14, 2008 05:03 PM UTC
Hi,
I think my question's quite similar to the last one posted so maybe we can compare notes.
I'll be staying for one night in Corfu in August, on my way back from Albania. Does anyone know of any hotels that are nice and good value in the centre or (particularly) around the port area?
The Konstantinoupolis is exactly the kind of place I'd like to stay but 102 euros for a single room sounds a bit expensive....
Does anyone know of any others, or how to halve the price of the Konstantinoupolis?

Gouvia to Corfu Town Posted: Sun April 13, 2008 06:03 PM UTC
Dear all,
i'll be visiting Corfu this summer and my travel agent has offered me the Park Hotel in Gouvia. Just wanted to check whether Gouvia is a good place to stay at for the holiday? Is it too quiet? Are there good beaches and bars around?
Another important question - How far is it from Corfu Town? And what's the best way to travel to Corfu town?
Thanks a lot

Corfu Shore Excursion Posted: Thu April 10, 2008 06:37 PM UTC
On Costa cruise with stop in Corfu - would rather do it on my own than take packaged shore excursions!! What should I visit - is it difficult to get around?

Hotel close to the harbour in Corfu Town Posted: Sat March 1, 2008 04:36 PM UTC
Hi.
I have just bought a flat in Saranda, Albania and the nearest airport for us to use is the one at Corfu. The plane arrives late at night so we need to stay one night in Korfu Town before heading over to Albania with the ferry in the morning.
So, do anyone know of a nice hotel? (We need no luxury as it's only one short night).
Hope you can help!
Thanks

Travel from Rome to Corfu Posted: Sun February 24, 2008 07:40 PM UTC
I want to meet some friends in Corfu while I am travelling in Italy. Is it easier (cheaper/travel time?) to fly from Rome to Corfu or find my way to Brindisi then take the ferry to Corfu.

In need of travel tip please Posted: Wed January 9, 2008 10:31 AM UTC
Hi there!
I would need to know, what would be the best way for me to travel from Athens to Kerkyra, but the flights are a little too expensive. Could you please give me a tip on buses which travel on a regular basis to Igoumenitsa or a travel agent who would offer a trip from Athens directly to Corfu city?
Also I would need to know how much it would cost me...the bus trip and the ferry boat as well.
Thanx a lot for the answer.

Taxi transfer Airport to Kassiopi (& return) or car hire? Posted: Thu September 27, 2007 03:10 PM UTC
Hi
We have a booked a holiday for 08 and as our son is not a good traveller, favour booking a taxi from the airport. Does anyone know a local taxi company who will do airport runs?
Also, our other alternative would be to hire a car (my husband's preference). Is it easy to get to Kassiopi; we are staying at the Bella Vista apartments.
Thanks

Ferry to Corfu Posted: Wed September 12, 2007 08:53 PM UTC
Hi!
I'm going to Corfu in October, and the most convenient ferry is in Igoumenitsa , the one coming from Venice.
Tried to buy tickets on Internet - they are unavailable for this line.
Anybody knows:
does it mean that there is NO TICKETS or you just can't buy them in advance
because it is international line? Anybody had experience with that?

Corfu_Visits from Nissaki Posted: Thu August 23, 2007 01:53 PM UTC
We hope to be in the Nissaki area in Corfu for a week in the second week of June 2008.
1. Can you visit Agios Georgios (North West coast) and Agios Geordios (South West coast) directly from Nissaki or is the best route through Corfu town?
2. Both these beaches are supposed to be good. Which one should one choose if only one of them was to be visited?
3. Which would be the most convenient SANDY beaches to visit from Nissaki?
4. What other places should one visit in Corfu and particularly in the northern part of the island?
5. Is anyone familiar with the resort "Corfu Residence" in Nissaki?
I have seen a few Websites but personal knowledge is always valuable.
Regards

Corfu around 23rd August or 28th August? Posted: Mon August 13, 2007 05:15 PM UTC
hi
Me and my parents are thinking of going to Corfu together but not sure how the weather will be around end august when it comes to sun, and the temperature of the sea for swimming and how lively it will be.
We were thinking of either going around 23rd August for 7 nights (23rd-29th) or around the 28th August for 6 nights (28th aug-2nd sept).
do you think the sea will be colder if we went on the 28th or it won't make a slight difference in a week and a half?
Also will corfu will still be lively with young greek people and foreign as well as families after the 27th august? As it;s the furthest of the greek islands, we are not sure whether to go 23rd or 28th in case the sea gets colder and it gets much quieter?
I would appreciate your advice

Athen-Corfu June 2008 Posted: Thu August 9, 2007 07:01 AM UTC
We are proposing to fly Athens-Corfu-Athens. We expect to come into Athens (at 11 am approx.) from Istanbul by Turkish Airlines in the morning. Rather than take an evening flight from Athens to Corfu, we want to take the morning flight by Aegean Airlines on the next day.
Any way of avoiding an overnight stop at Athens which we may have to take anyway on the return journey from Corfu?

Corfu or Santorini? Posted: Fri August 3, 2007 08:21 PM UTC
hi
Still a bit undecisive about whether to go to Corfu or Santorini. we will be going around 20th August. I will be going with my parents ( I am over 18) and both my parents are fun people and young hearted.
I was told both islands are nice, corfu being very green and having really nice beaches but no idea about nightlife? and santorini having the most amazing views and compact centre
Where would u suggest for a nice island experience?
we like swimming, nice cafes, restaurants, lively atmosphere popular with young greeks and international people etc..
has anyone been to these two islands and can recommend which one is better?
thanks

Villa Argiris review? Posted: Wed July 25, 2007 08:29 PM UTC
Hi there, I'm going to visit Corfu in September and now trying to book accomodation. I found this apartment called 'Villa Argiris' in Agios Stefanos, but there are not alot of review on this accomodation on the internet.
Can I just ask if anyone been to this accomodation? How about the area? Quiet area? Also I'll be renting a car, but I've never driven on the right side despite that I have many years of left side driving experience, is the road in Corfu easy to drive?
Thanks for answering.

Hiking the Corfu Trail in July Posted: Mon July 9, 2007 06:41 AM UTC
We are students/backpackers and want to hike the Corfu Trail. We only have 1 2-week period available to us before we go back to Australia and that is between 11-24 July. We have a tent and would prefer to camp to save money. Are we mad? Has anyone done this in July? Is it too hot? Is it possible to get water/food along the way?
