We are travelling from Limoges to Toulose & would like to find somewhere cheap & homely to stay in between the 2 places for a night. We are unsure whether to take the train or a bus? Any tips will be welcome thanks
I would really like to visit Oradour sur Glane: is it possible to get a local bus there from the centre of Limoges?
Or does anyone know of a day trip or a tour that may run there.
I´m staying 3 nights in Perigueux,,,what shouldn´t I miss seeing(buying) while I´m there? I´m interested in antiques, childrens clothes and toys, and cheap clothing stores.I´m Also going to be in limousin and auvergne... any tips are welcomed gratefully
16 of us are going skiing in La Plagne from the 8th - 15th March 2008. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a cheaper price for lift passes if we purchase them in advance?
We are taking our dog on our next trip to France.Anyone know of a vet in the Brive/Tulle area that is familiar with the PETS scheme? i.e. does the vacinations, has the correct paperwork etc. Thanks
Is there bus service from rochechouart to St. Junien or Limoges, or any towns where there is train service? I am considering staying in Rochechouart this winter and do not want to pay for a rental car for three months.
I am a decendent of the De La Chaumette family. I am looking for any family history and also history on Rochechouart. If there is anyone who can assist me, it would be greatly appreciated.
We're heading over to Europe for a quick 2-week vacation, finishing with 5 days in Limousin/Correze. Neither of us has ever been in this region--though we both know it's exactly the kind of thing we'd enjoy--but we've done a lot of research on food, lodging and places to see. So how does this itinerary sound?
Day 1: From Paris, drive south of Limoges (3-4 hours?) and stay in Ségur-le-Château or someplace nearby.
Day 2: See the area, then drive a little further west, perhaps a little into Aquitaine, and then back east to stay in in Verteillac (found a nice B&B).
Day 3: See the area and head down through Perigueux to Bergerac, and then head east to stay someplace near the Caves of Lascaux/Sarlat-Le-Caneda area (Lalinde, Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, etc). It would be nice to time it so that we were in Sarlat on the Wednesday to see the market, right?
Day 4: See the area, and make our way east to Correze--perhaps just SE of Brive (Beynat, Argentat, etc.). Found many B&Bs here.
Day 5: See the area around Beaulieu-le-Dordogne, Rocamadour, etc., spend the night someplace around there, or head further SE into Correze?
Day 6: Head back up towards Paris, perhaps Bourges, Vierzon, etc? No idea what is in this area, but we need to be close to Paris for our flight the next day!
Would more time in the Correze/Dordogne be better than hanging around [what appears to be] a more touristy area around Limousin/Perigord? We'd prefer off-the-beaten track stuff.
Any comments&info would be greatly appreciated--thanks!!

Hi, I have been unable to find any information about Turenne, France... Would this be a good base to explore South Western France? Can you recommend a hotel in Turenne?
Salut! I am moving to Limoges in September...wondering if anyone can help me out with locating a gym to work out at. Or any recreational volleyball teams. Also any suggestoins on night life or shopping....are there a lot of markets around for food shopping.
My parents are spontaneously moving to a little town called Ruffec, not far from Limoges. What's their best bet for getting reliable and inexpensive internet access there?
I know the New Year has only just begun but I am already getting itchy feet. Therefore, I'm thinking of taking a cheap flight over to Limoges later this month and I was just wondering if anyone knew whether there would be much going on this time of the year?
Is it a city which is worth a visit? What is there to do there and where can I visit in the surrounding area? I'm thinking of spending 3-4 nights there in total.
