We will be in Kefalonia on a cruise in May for a day and I would like to rent a car. Does anyone know of a car rental place at the pier. We have looked to reserve in advance but they all want us to pay in advance and we would rather just pick one up when we get there. Thanks.
Hi, Has anyone stayed at the Linardos Apartments in Assos? Comments? Also, how did you like the town of Assos? We aren't much for nightlife. We are looking for beautiful scenery, local culture and local food. Thanks! Claire

Hi - thinking of booking a week in Fiskado through Ionian Holidays but am concerned by stuff I've read saying that Fiscado is over-developed and apparently expensive to eat, etc? We have a small baby and want to be in a resort so we can stroll out with him in the evenings and have a few beers. Also thinking of hiring a car for a few days and a boat. Any feedback about Fiskardo or Ionian Holidays gratefully received.
Going to Cephallonia in May, looking for best place to hire a cheap car, good restaurants(where the locals go), places of interest off the beaten track...isolated waterfalls etc etc Can anyone help ?? Thanks Joy
Spartia Area Posted: Tue July 5, 2005 03:53 PM UTC
I am staying in this area in late August. Can anybody tell me what to expect in the way of bars, resaurants, shops etc. We are staying in self catering accommodation with 3 kids.
Greetings. We are staying on the Island in September and want to hire a 7/9 seater. If possible we want 4 persons to be on the car insurance. One company has said it's Greek law that there can only be 2 drivers and another has said it will include 4 drivers at no extra cost! Who is right? We obviously want to be fully insured. Thanks a lot and if you can recommend a good reliable car hire place that would be brilliant.
Could you please help me. I am looking to go away to either Lefkada and Kefalonia for around 5 days in around June or July time this year.
I would be ideally looking to just go there and relax on nice white sand, blue sea beaches and lazy about and do nothing. Also I am looking for a hotel (not bothered about *rating as long as there is AC) hopefully close to the beach and also to the town. And looking to be staying in an area that is not as lively with tourists like Corfu is, but still has a nice atmosphere that we can go to a few bars and restaurants on a evening.
So could you please tell me which of these 2 places are the best for this and which areas within that place are best? Also any hotel recommendations and any other information you could give would be much appreciated.
Have you been to Kefalonia? Have you been there on holiday? Two enthusiastic university researchers would like to hear your experiences. This is an exciting project on the island's representation in the book and film "Captain Corelli's Mandolin". For more information please contact: Penny Travlou (p.travlou@eca.ac.uk)
Realized that most direct summer ferry services from Brindisi to Kefalonia dont start until end of July, and we are planning our trip in early June... Would anyone know if there are any direct flights or charters from Rome to Cefalonia... or is Olympic the only choice...they seem rather pricey online it is around 800 dollars/ 900 euros.. Also seems most return connections require an overnight stay in Athens... (we'd like a morning flight back to arrive at FCO by 12:00 Noon...) any italian air tour operators or other direct ferries from brindisi, bari, ancona etc.? Any help greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!
We are visiting Kef on the 29th of August 2004, staying in Agia Efimia.
What are the best places to see on the island? Would you recommend booking through the tour rep or going it alone by hiring a car?
Also, has anyone used the dive centre in Agia Ef? My husband and I went scuba diving for the first time last year and would love to do ti again but wondered what kind of courses/levels of experience they accept.
Could you tell me how the usual temps in May are? means: Is it warm enough for swimming or would you recommend another time of the year. (I´m trying to avoid mass tourism)
Argostoli Posted: Fri August 22, 2003 07:32 PM UTC
On Wednesday, October 22nd, my husband and I will be arriving for the day in Argostoli aboard the Costa Tropicale. The ship arrives in port at about 8:00AM and leaves at 6:00PM.
We are interested in having a guided (English speaking) tour, but have not found any companies listed in Argostoli for tour guides.
I will be going to Kefalonia from July 26 to August 4 2003 and, as I am planning to camp I would like to know which are the best places of the island where to find a camping, and if any of you might recommend me the name of a good camping. By the way, is free camping allowed? and is it safe there?
Thank u very much, in advance, and have a great summer! Gae, Bologna, Italy
I would like to stay in Kato Katelios in July 2003. I'd like to receive information about accomodation (studio, rooms to let) near the beach. Does someone know something about this place ?
