Hi folks,

Greetings from Scotland! Does anyone know if there are couchettes available on the night train from Wroclaw to Gdansk and if so how they can be booked in advance (ideally online). I'm hoping to take the train that leaves late on Saturday 9th August.

Hello: I want to travel from Wroclaw to Prague by train. On previous Friday I took a train to Krakow and it took 5 hours to travel a distance of 200km. Is there a fast train operating between Wroclaw and Prague. Nobody among the ticketing staff speaks or understands english :( sooo help me out .

What can be some other option? bus ?

Please advise me of 1) whether there is night train leaving Wroclaw for Budapest or we need to go to another city in order to go to Budapest, 2) how we can make the reservation for a double sleeper and how long in advance we should make the reservation, and 3(if you know) the total price for a double sleeper. Do you know if the public bus/tram system in Wroclaw is extensive. I would like to see some of the mountain areas and some places outside the walking area of Wroclaw.

We (2 persons) will be staying in Wroclaw from May 19-23 and going from Wroclaw to Budapest on the evening of May 23, 2008. Okay, another question. We will be staying in Wroclaw, but would like to go to Aushwitz and the Krakow Salt mine. There is a bus tour to Aushwitz, but not to the salt mine. I was wondering if getting a car rental for a couple of days is recommended. Is driving a car rental to the Krakow area easy to do? Also, do you have any suggested drives around the Wroclaw area?

We are going to Wroclaw this April for three days and would like some tips on the area and where to stay and eat. Also, can you tell me the best way to get to the Auschwitz Memorial and how long it would take. Thanks!!!

Hello, I'm flying in to Wroclaw in June and hiring a car before driving to my family's home in Prudnik (I think I have to head for Opole/Nysa?)

This is my first time flying into Wroclaw, as I've always flown into either Krakow or Katowice.

Hi - we will be in wroclaw for 3 nights at end of Feb. we are obviously going to sample vodka/beer, but would also like to know if there is a boat tour/city tour (not walking). have found some info about a boat but it is not in English. We would like to go out of the city for a tour too - is hiring a car something you would recommed - would like to see little villages maybe....

Can you travel easily by train from Rotterdam to Wroclaw? If so, what connections need to be made? How/where can I find website info to plan for this trip? Typical cost?

I am trying to find a reasonably priced medium standard hotel (180-220 PLN) fairly close to Old Town. I keep finding a list of the same hotels over and over no matter which website I have tried, including Polish websites as well. I know there has to be a huge amount of hotels in this area, they are just not so easily accessible on the net. Does anyone know of any NOT listed here on virtual tourist?

My wife and I are travelling to Wroclaw for a couple of days in March 2008. We are staying at the Hotel System which is located at Al M. Kromera. I believe this is some distance from the city centre - can anyone advise on the best way to travel into the city from there. Is it on a tram or bus route? If we take a taxi, about how much will it cost?

Lastly, can you recommend any good restuarants / friendly bars near the hotel?

Hi there! I'm about to book a room for 3 nights at the Sofitel Wroclaw in January but am having some difficulty understanding the rates!

I’m trying to book through the official site –

Basically it is giving me 3 options -

Early Rate - available until D-15, CC prepaid no refund, modification fee

Smart Rate - available and flexible until 3 days before arrival

Premium Rate - fully flexible

Which one am I to book? I obviously want to go for the Early Rate as it is cheaper. Does it mean the amount has to paid in full 15 days before arrival to benefit from the discounted rate?

I'm very confused!

Can anyone please recommend some B&B / homestay / pensione style accommodation in Wroclaw for a couple in their sixties who want something more local than a chain hotel.

I have clients wanting to travel from Wroclaw to Liberec in the Czech Republic. I have found the train timetable, but it involves two changes in Gorlitz and Zittau. Looking at a road atlas, it appears that there is a fairly direct road connection between the two points, via Jelenia Gora. Can anyone tell me if there is a bus service on this route, or else if it would be feasible and not horrendously expensive to hire a car and driver (not a rental car). And also if possible, how long the journey would take.

I'm going to go from Czech to Wroclaw in the mid of Sep.By12/9,I'll probably be in Cesky Krumlov,is it a must/more convenient to go back to Prague to get a train/bus to Wroclaw?Or there're some stops nearby?

Are they located close to each other? Is luggage storage available during night?
The fact is that my bus departs at 2-30. Would be nice to put backpack into the locker and spend time till bus departure in some cosy bar 

A friend to staying a few days in Wroclaw and has asked me if you can go to Auschwitz for a day trip, I went to Auschwitz from Krakow when I was in Poland. Can you do a day trip? and how long would it take?

I want to go to prague from wroclaw, what is the best transportation to go, bus, train or hire car? thank you.

I'm looking at the map and they appear so close, but when i go to the PKP site it says the trip is 9 hrs. Is this true, or am I missing something?

What's the fastest (non-flying) way to get to Prague from Wroclaw, and any ideas about prices?

Me and a group of friends are thinking of visitin Wroclaw for a weekend in February, but are worried the nightlife might be a little quiet during winter. What do you think? Will the bars and clubs be busy as they would be in the summer?

Is there a regular bus that runs between Wroclaw and Boleslawiec?

I'm also interested to know if there are buses between Boleslawiec and Liberec in Czech republic, as my main aim is to visit the Ceramic Factory in Boleslawiec, but the closest direct bus route I can find from Prague is to Wroclaw.
