Arnhem Gelredome Parking?
Posted: Thu February 14, 2008 07:32 AM UTC
Hi

I'm going to see Anouk at the Gelredome at the end of March and I'm driving there and staying the night in a B&B

Now then, from what I can make of the Gelredome website there are 4000 spaces onsite and then 4 remote car parks with bus services to and from the Gelredome.

The problem is that the Gelredome website is all in Dutch so I'm relying on a website translation which isn't that easy to understand.

Is there someone who's been there who can clarify things for me. What's the easiest way to get there?

Thanks, Chris.

Arnhem Want to see Springsteen Arnhem-need some help
Posted: Mon October 1, 2007 09:57 PM UTC
Hi-coming to Amsterdam for honeymoon and found out Springsteen was playing in Arnhem. Have done some reading and it seems I can get to Arnhem pretty easily from Amsterdam. It seems the last train leaves around 23:53. If we get out of the show around 23:00 would there be enough time to catch the bus and then get the train back? Someone had posted when there are concerts, there is one that leaves around 00:53 and that those are not posted. I was just wondering if anyone can give me some information before I purchase these tickets. Thanks for your help. Suzanne

Arnhem Arnhem, September
Posted: Wed April 11, 2007 09:24 AM UTC
Hi,
For a very long time, I have wanted to see Arnhem and surrounding areas, mainly due to the historical importance but also, from looking on the web, it looks a beautiful area of Holland.

I plan to come for maybe 2 nights from Amsterdam by train. Then head back to Amsterdam for the weekend.

Is 2 days enough to visit most of the sights or should I leave more time?
I really want to take in as much as possible, I might even stay 3 nights just to make sure I can get to Nijmegen also.

Can anyone advise or recommend some reasonable but decent hotels in Arnhem to base myself from while here.

Oh I will be travelling alone, so I am hoping its easy to get around!
:-)

Thanks!!

Hi Pieter and ATLC. Many thanks for your replies giving me driections for when we are in Arnhem. You are so very kind. All those memories coming back ATLC. When we are there I will think about you delivering your papers !

Could you tell me how to get to the famous Bridge of Arnhem ?

I am sure we will not do it all on the one visit. We will look and decide which we will give priority . We need more time but don't have it.

Thanks once again.

Arnhem Visiting Arnhem Directions
Posted: Sun March 11, 2007 11:43 AM UTC
Good Morning. Myself and a friend will be visiting Amsterdam between 25th and 30th March. We would like to take one day out to visit Arnhem, especially Oosterbeek Cemetery, Airborne Museum, Kroller Muller Museum in Hoge Veluwe National Park and around the town of Arnhem itself. I know this will be a lot to see in the one day but we will do our best depending on transport. We will take a train from Amsterdam Central to Arnhem. Can anybody help us from there with details of public transport from Arnhem Station to the various places, then walking directions from getting off the bus/train etc ? Because of the short time we have we need to be prepared and not having to find out directions when we arrive. Thanks in anticipation Sandy x

Arnhem Searching for this House/old Friends
Posted: Sun August 21, 2005 04:39 PM UTC
Hello Everybody,
My problem is not directly connected with traveling, but there are so many people here , who know Arnhem and Oosterbeek so well, so that i really hope to find some help here.
More than 3 years ago i was able to meet some very gentle and nice people(they originally come frome Brasil) in Arnhem, they gave me the possibilty to stay at their house for some days and i really like to call them great friends. I like travelling and meet other people, but never found such nice people again, no matter where ive been.

I always wanted to suprise them and visit them again to tell them how thankful i am and that i would like to stay in contact with them closely. but ive lost the address of their house and its not possible for me to find it again. i believe they dont have a KPN number, but a Twinner one, so i wont find them in a phonebook. my only clues are the pictures i made back then when i was able to stay at their house(i didnt even care for the name of the street). Their Family name was "van Amerongen", at least the daughter Kim still had this name (her mother may already use her former name "benelli" again). now what i ask you for is to help me out, to find this house, maybe u know this house and you can tell me the address, or you know something else, which is useful for me. im not absolutely sure, but i believe their house should be around oosterbeek, there are plenty of villas around.

Im planning to stay my next vocation in Oosterbeek and i would like to visit them very much. But im not so sure about the location of the house and maybe its not in Oosterbeek(maybe in a surrounding place),thats why i am so helpless.

heres a picture of the house i made

http://img147.imageshack.us/my.php?image=huis4lv.jpg

and a picture from outside(with Kim on it,remember its more than 3 years old)

http://img75.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snoesie1111116lp.jpg

i know this is still not much( in addition to the names and the supposed place), but i really hope someone can help me out, or maybe someone can tell me a way how to find this address with the help of my pictures.I also really hope its ok to ask this here, but i see no other way and im really sorry to take your time and patiance.

Thanks in Advance

Hanno

We would like to visit Arnhem for a day visit on our way from Amsterdam to Switzerland (via train). Is there a place to store our luggage in Arnhem? Preferably we could do this at the train station as we will arrive from Amsterdam and then leave in the evening (several hours after the museums have closed). Thanks.

I'll be travelling from Amsterdam to Nijmegen next week and want to stop off at Arnhem on the way. I would like to see the Airborne Museum and look around Oosterbeek.

How much time should I allow for this ? All day, or will a couple of hours be enough ?

Thanks,

Posted: Wed September 8, 2004 08:52 PM UTC
I am visiting Arnhem 17 - 20th Sept to see at first hand as many of the historic landmaks as possible from Ex Market Garden. Does anyone have map / details of the original "Hells Highway " Route from Eindhoven to Arnhem.
The modern maps I have been looking at seem very different (new roads etc) to the ones from the history books.
I would like to travel this route as closely as possible to the original one

Also many thanks for the numerous replies to my original query re the para drop on Ginkel Heath + other useful information I am looking forward to my trip
