Breda Breda or Bergen op Zoom? where to stay?
Posted: Wed January 30, 2008 06:42 AM UTC
good morning VTers :)

I'll be visiting Bergen Op Zoom for a week soon and I really had a hard time finding anything useful about it. I have few questions and I hope you guys help me out here.

- Is Breda the closest city to BoZ? and how far is it?
- if yes, will it be easy to stay in Breda and go to work every morning in BoZ, or is it going to be a tiring?
- what is the best option for me regarding airports close to Bergen op Zoom?

------
BoZ questions:
is there any fast food, major hotels, or cinmas there?

1st time in netherland...

And thanks in advance everyone :)

Breda Schipol to Breda
Posted: Tue September 19, 2006 03:59 PM UTC
I am coming to Breda in October and was wondering about trains from Schipol to Breda. I looked on the German Bahn site and there are plenty of trains and the journey takes about 1,5 hours. However, this site wont give prices because it is not within Germany. Does anyone know of the price for this or can you give me the address for the dutch rail site (I can understand dutch)? Also do you save money if you buy the tickets in advance or buy a return ticket? Dank U!

Breda Finding a cat-sitter
Posted: Tue August 8, 2006 04:26 PM UTC
VT might not be the most appropriate place to post this question, but I don't know where else to reach the Breda community online. Does anyone know of a responsible cat-loving person who could come to my apartment once a day to take care of my cat while I'm away for a few days? I'm moving to Breda on Thursday 10 August and will post a sign for a cat-sitter at the pet store on Grote Markt. How much should a cat-sitter be paid for 5 days of 20 minute visits?

Breda Bus to Schiphol?
Posted: Wed July 19, 2006 04:54 PM UTC
I'll be moving to Breda in 3 weeks and can't help but notice how expensive the trains are. When I was in Breda last week (finding an apartment) I was delighted to find a Connexxion bus to Antwerp for 11 euros -- much cheaper and faster than taking the train. Does anyone know of a similar bus service to Schiphol or any major Dutch cities? And where do all those Eurolines buses go?

Breda coffeeshops in Breda?
Posted: Fri July 8, 2005 12:02 PM UTC
Hi..My husband and I were thinking of driving up to Amsterdam from Paris in October, 2005. However, we would prefer to not go so far and still enjoy our first visit to NL. Breda sounds and looks lovely. It seems easier to get around than a large city like Amsterdam, where I understand driving and parking is a nightmare! Are there some nice, quiet coffeeshops in Breda? Also, any recommendations for hotels WITH a parking garage? We would prefer to park the car and leave it there for the duration of our stsy. Is this a realistic plan?....Many thanks in advance!

Breda Hi new to VT
Posted: Fri April 15, 2005 03:36 PM UTC
Hi All,

I'm new to VT but I've been living in Breda now for 9 months. Havent learnt much Dutch yet but I did a 1yr evening course before moving here. Also looking for courses, as the only one i've found so far was 45Eur/Hour! My wife is Dutch but she cant really teach me...

I was until march working in Antwerp but now I also find myself out of work! So any tips on places non dutch speakers can find good jobs would be helpful too.

I've visited the highlights of Breda now (Irish Pub, Brooklyn, Mexican restaurant) but I'm always open for suggestions on other good places. Like where's a decent Thai and whats the curry house like? :)

Cheers,

Mark.

can anyone tell me what is the cheapest way to learn to speak dutch. I have been here now 12months and i understand the language college in Breda to be very expensive. I do not need to work just to get myself understood and understand what people are saying to me. I have 3 children that have done the special school so speak excellent dutch. We are planning to live here for a while so speaking and understanding dutch would be a great help for me.

Breda Living & Working in Breda
Posted: Sun December 26, 2004 09:19 AM UTC
I have just been asked for second interview with a firm in Breda. My family and I have been travelling to Holland for the past couple of years and loved it! My wife and I are in our early forties and 3 boys aged 5,7,and 8. I am interested in knowing if there are primary schools that speak in english and also what is the housing market in Breda and surrounding areas?

Since this is the first time I have used a site like this, there will be allot more questions in the future.

Thanks

Hello... quite new to VT but looks an interesting site.

I might have the possibility of working in Breda in the next month on a 2yr contract and was wondering abit about the place. Where's the areas to avoid getting a flat? How much am I looking to pay for a month? Where would I look to possibly rent with some one?

Basically, just some general "living in Breda" questions really....

Hope someone can help!!!
