Hi. I wonder if anyone can tell much which bus I can take from the station (SNCF) to the town centre?
I had a look at the Auxerre Tourism site and there is bus information there, but I can't figure out which bus I need to take. I also sent the tourist office an email, but I've had no reply.
I m visiting Paris from 22-31aug, my friends n i would like to visit a vineyard n taste some good red or white wine. Any suggestion as to where we can visit or any tours which we can join for a day trip? There is a problem...we dont drive so it's either train or buses.
Hello everyone. We have the opportunity to cruise on a canal boat for two weeks from the 28th August leaving from St Jean De Losne. We would also like to take some day trips by either renting a car, taking a bus or via train and were wondering if anyone could suggest places of interest to go. We would also live to visit some wineries and have some samples along with some cheese if that is possible, any suggestions. Are there any fun runs in the district during this time? If any locals would like to catch up for a drink that would be great.
I am going to be staying in Dijon as part of a group of 18, including children aged 10 and up. We are staying at the Ibis centre clemenceau. Can anyone recommend a restaurant that could cater for us? To complicate matters it will be Good Friday. Will this cause a problem? Our preference would be for bistro style regional food. Many thanks.
Where to stay Posted: Sun February 8, 2009 03:50 AM UTC
Bonjour,
I will be visiting Dijon in June and would like any recommendations for a place to stay. A bed / breakfast or small auberge would be good - I am travellling alone. somewhere I can be involved in day to day life rather than isolated in a backpackers.
thanks
Ursula.
Hi all.
My girlfriend is going to study 3 months, from Jan. 09 til late April 09, at the Uni in Dijon.
Luckily enough, I'm able to go with her.
To be abel to drive around in the region, we plan to take the car. (I know it going to be a long journey trough Scandinavia and Germany.)
What I would like to know, is what the road conditions are like in central Europe in winter/spring ?? (Like if it's icy, slippery, bare roads etc)
We would also love to visit Geneve and northern Italy. How about the drive there ?
In Norway, we have two types of tires. Summer and winter (With spikes)
I need to change from winter to summer tires in Denmark, since spikes is not allowed in Germany. Should I bring the winter tires to France, or just leave them at friends in Denmark ?
I have hired a boat on the loire for a week in August. I belive there is like a French bank holiday on or around 14.08.08 (could be assention day or something). If this is the case are there any events on in Decize or nearby towns that we could attend ie street carnivals etc. I would appreciate some feedback as this would assist us with our travel arrangements.
My partner and I are travelling to France in September and it has been several years since we visited. Last time we had a great meal at La Grilladine and we have eaten Aux Vignes Rouges on a prior visit. Has anyone eaten at either place recently?
I would like to do a trip by barge on one of the canals in France next year. Any suggestions on which canal and when to go? I'm also interested in information on walking tours in France.
I need to go to Zurich for a 3 day stay from Dijon. Train tickets for the trip are around 290. I called a Hertz in Dijon and got quoted 105 euros for 3 days. Do you recommend that I drive or should I rather take the train and pay the extra. How hard is it to drive in Europe, especially Dijon - ZUrich?
Hi. I am planning to visit Taize in June 2008 and this will be my first time in Europe. Is there a schedule/guiding tour for visitors during that period to which I can subscribe? How about accomodation? Is it better to stay outside the community or does the community has available rooms for rent..
Thanks for your help, as I am really looking forward visiting Taize this summer.
I plan to stay in Dijon for 2 full days. One of them I would love to spend visiting wineries around. I heard that Beaune is a nice town where wineries are actually located. Is it true? If yes, would that be enough just to get to town and explore it on foot? Or I need a car? And how do I get from Dijon to Beaune? It is three of us going and I don't seem to find a guided inexpensive trip to wineries. Any advise?
Hi there, can anyone give me an idea as to bus (or train) options between Vezelay and Cluny? We won`t be renting a car and I understand that this route is not so well serviced by public transport (I could find no train connections). Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Kristin.
I am visiting Geneuille and Dijon next month. We will be renting a car and are very short on time. Is it better to fly into Paris, Zurich or Bern? We will have to drive to Geneuille the same day we fly - which drive is the easiest? Any specific advice about any of these airports, driving from these airports and crossing the border (if necessary)? Thank you.
We (a couple) shall be visiting Taize in mid-June for a week, and are planning visiting various towns and villages from Lyon to Taize via L'arbres.e and Macon by trains.
Does anyone know any interesting places to visit along this route? Any reliable and clean accommodation?
I have just bought a house in Aignay-le-Duc, Bourgogne. We take possession in July.
My question is : How do I get from Tangier to Dijon, where I can hire a car, with loads of luggage as cheaply and quickly as possible?????....
1. Boat to SETE and then train?
2. Ferry to Aleciras, bus to Madrid, train to Lille, train to Dijon?
3. Ferry to Algeciras, bus to Malaga,Easyjet to Paris and train to Dijon?
4. Ferry to Algerciras, Bus to Malaga, Easyjet to Geneve, Train to Dijon?
5 . A better route??????
Merci a vous.
I will be arriving in Beaune the first Friday in June early in the morning. I will have a car and would like to drive around the area. I leave Sunday morning to drive to Avignon so I can see some sights as I head south to Provence. I know about the Sat morning market and de Hospices.
Does anyone have suggestions on nearby castles or prehistoric caves?
We are going to rent a boat and take it through the Canals of Bourgogne. We are looking at two options, Tonnerre-Montbard-Tonnerre
120 km-60 locks-30 hours
OR Digoin-Nevers-Digoin
198 km-44 locks-32 hours
We want the most scenic route, something not too rustic. We want to see and visit some towns from the canals. The Digoin route looks very rural/rustic but has less locks and more Kilometers to see more things.
the Tonerre-Montbard route has lots of locks and not much Km's but looks more picteresque.
Has anyone done this? Advice. Advice on other routes. We want to keep the cost down to around 600-700 euro just for the boat hire, 1 week. Just 2 adults.
Thanks.
Can anyone recommend a hotel in Cluny, or a nearby town, for one night? We'll have a car. I have tried the Hotel Bourgogne, but they have not responded for a week now. Thanks.
Nevers-Avallon Posted: Wed February 14, 2007 06:42 PM UTC
Who can send me information how to go by a normal bike as easy as possible with as little as possible climbing, from Nevers to Avallon vice-versa.
If you have a map with a description that would be very nice. What is approximately the distance?
This is perhaps the strangest request I have posted here. While clearing some of my old stuff , I chanced upon some letters from a penpal from Dijon that I lost touch with after I moved to Saudi Arabia for work. I have his name and can even find it in the internet, he is teaching in the Gaston-Roupnel College in Dijon. But I dont really know how to contact him . Would appreciate if anyone from Dijon can help me find his email address. Thank you
Since I am a "mature" adult, I'm wondering if older adults can attend Taize workshops or attend the chanting services offered. Also does one need to stay in Taize a certain amount of days in order to truly benefit from the experience? Thank you very much. suzanne
