| Maastricht | Campsite in or near Maastricht? Posted: Mon February 26, 2007 06:51 PM UTC
Is there a campsite in or near Maastricht? I've read that the Dousberg site has been turned into a golf course, is this true?! Is there anywhere else? I can only find places in Valkenburg and I think that it might be a bit too 'touristy' there for me.
I'm not planning to camp until the summer, but part of the pleasure of a holiday for me is planning it and looking forward to it. :-) |

| Maastricht | Wedding in Maastricht Posted: Mon February 26, 2007 06:45 PM UTC
Hey Everyone,
I am planning a wedding in Maastricht on Sept. 15th. I am from Alabama,U.S.A. and need a lot of help! I have several questions; 1. Were can I find an apartment, several rooms in the same building, or a home rental at a decent price for a week or two for 6 or more family members? (it needs to be close to the city or transportation since all my family members will be from the U.S. and won't have cars or be familiar with the city.) 2. Were is a good place to have a wedding party? (we expect around 100 guest and are looking for a nice place with a low cost!) 3. Were can I get a wedding cake that taste good and looks good but won't cost a fortune? 4. Also I need a local florist were I can order bulk flowers to pick up the day befgore the weeding (I want to arrange them myself to save money)? 5. Were can I find a wedding photographer and videographer? 6. What activities or sightseeing would you suggest for a big group with children (and without cars)? If you have advise for any of these questions, it will be greatly appreciated? |

| Maastricht | Eating in Maastricht Posted: Sun February 25, 2007 02:04 AM UTC
We are travelling from Australia to Maastricht to attend the first of Andre Rieu's concerts in July and would like to know about the eating arrangements. Are there arrangements for pre-concert meals at one location or do we book at a restaurant and if so, could someone please suggest some restaurants close to the Vrijthof. Thanks

| Maastricht | Book stores in Maastricht that might have Europe Travel guide books in English? Posted: Thu February 15, 2007 07:06 PM UTC
BACKGROUND: My daughter has just arrived in Maastricht (from USA)--she will be there for 4 months studying at the University. She took 1 Europe travel guide book with her before she left home; however, she would like one or two more. A good travel book in USA costs $22.00 (30 Eur) Also, for me to send the book to my daughter (n Maastricht), it will cost approximately $26.00 (35 Eur). Furthermore, it will take 2 to 3 weeks to get the book to her. QUESTION: Is there a big book store in Maastricht that I could contact (or she could visit)that might have Europe travel guide books (in ENGLISH)? It would be great if this Maastricht book store had a website that I could visit---perhaps I could see their book inventory online---and perhaps I could purchase a book for my daughter online or, perhaps I could phone to book store (this process would certainly be less costly and faster than me attempting to send my daughter a book). If there is not such a book store in Maastricht---is there one in a nearby city (in the Netherlands)? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, ---Jaes.

| Maastricht | Car day trip to Germany Posted: Tue February 13, 2007 01:39 AM UTC
Hello,
I will be staying in Maastricht for a week in September and rented a BMW one day for the purpose of taking a day trip from Maastricht. I want to visit Drielandenpunt and I assume by car is the easiest way and I also want to drive very fast on the Autobahn. Can someone recommend a good long country drive through Germany leaving from Maastricht? Thank you. Dank u vel. |

| Maastricht | Kersmarkt on Vrijthof Posted: Tue November 28, 2006 03:25 PM UTC
I just noticed that the Kerstmarkt in Maastricht will also stay open during and after the Christmas days whereas in Germany all x-mas-markets usually stop on the last weekend before x-mas. Anybody having visited the Kersmarkt in Maastricht? Is it any good? I am thinking of making a daytrip to Maastricht with my family on one of the Christmas holidays.

I've heard there is a hotel near the MArkt in a small oneway street (from the Maas) which has a small zoo of exotic animals, snakes etc. I was told the hotel has a webpage but I don't remember the name. With these clues - can anyone help me?

Also would it be possible to stay in Maastricht and travel each day to the training class or is this to far, I wont be getting a car so I will have to do public transportant. | Maastricht | What's in and what's good in Maastricht and Valkenburg? Posted: Sat August 12, 2006 07:21 AM UTC
Hello all!
How are you guys? I'm trying to plan a trip to Netherlands especially to Maastricht and Valkenburg during November(i read the november weather post... I pray for mild weather!). I'm wondering what might be in Maastrict and Valkenburg? Any recommended hotels to stay(something nice and cheap pls)? I found one in Valkenburg called Hulsman Hotel with a night deal i think 4 nights stay with breakfast and 2x 4 course meal dinner for the first/last 2 nights for 450 USD or abit less. Anyone been to this hotel? would love your input. I'm doing Limburg because i wanted to at least stay at Terworm Castle for a night this round. Been to Amsterdam twice before and was drooling over the picture of Terworm castle for years now. I found me a package on their website it's called Terworm 4 season arrangement with 1 night stay, breakfast and 4 course meal for 2 for about Euro 300(i noticed soon i'll have a hole in the pocket.. haha). Will be waiting for your replies. Cheers Meowsan |

| Maastricht | Looking for A Furnished Apartment Posted: Tue August 8, 2006 02:24 PM UTC
Hi to all!
I am a PhD, coming to Maastricht in a month or so and we are looking for a furnished apartment nearby the university area. Would somebody give me any idea how we can easily find such one and what the approximate prices are for that? I really thank you in advance. P.S. I have been browsing lots of sites but most of them offer rooms for students, not independent apartments. |

| Maastricht | Does Maastricht have a discount 'off-season'? Posted: Sun July 9, 2006 03:58 AM UTC
If I wanted to stay at an expensive hotel in Maastricht (i.e. Kruisenheren) for a night or two, is there a time of the year that discounts might be offered - a 'slow' season? Do local newspapers carry discounts and packages for hotels that might not be accessible to 'tourists' or that can be used only on a last minute basis?
