Rotterdam becoming crazy looking for a bag
Posted: Thu September 13, 2007 08:58 AM UTC
hello,

I have been living in R'dam and i was in love with a kind of bags. They are like canvas for the rain, oldfashoned, like used, and about 139 euros. I want to buy one by internet, but i can not remenber the bran... I know you can find them in "go on" shop, in oude binnenwerg, R´dam.

Some one knows the brand I mean or where to buy them???

Thanks very much.

Rotterdam Hostels in Rotterdam
Posted: Tue August 28, 2007 10:43 AM UTC
Are the STAYOK hostels really the cheapest that there is to offer? I know there are lots of places which do not probably have a website and its a case of something across them accidentally, but I don't think 25 euros per bed in a dorm is particularly cheap?

If anyone knows of any others please let me know. My boyfriend will be there as of Mon next week.

Thankyou VTers!!!

Rotterdam Thank you Rotterdam
Posted: Sun July 15, 2007 07:11 PM UTC
HI all. Got back to India after a month in Rotterdam with a two-day break in Istanbul. The people in Rotterdam are really friendly and I felt really welcome and comfortable. (Give or take a coulpe of people who are either suspicious of foreigners or just didnt like my face) I wish to thank VT member ATCL for showing me around the city and for her guidance on places to visit in Antwerp.
Maybe it's my big Kashmiri nose or the Turkish suntan or my mustache but I was mistaken for a turk by everyone in Istanbul!
The book I went to work on in Rotterdam is progressing well. I intend to put in a page or two about Rotterdam and I would like to know if any of you would like to help me with information on Holland in general and Rotterdam in particular. Although I have a lot of travel brochures from the VVV it still helps to have local people to confirm the information. Please reply to this and I will e-mail parts of the manuscript

I will be arriving in Rotterdam at the end of August 2007 on a cruise ship for the day with my fiance. I have already been to Amsterdam several times, so will give that a miss this time, and wondered if anyone could recommend things to do and see in Rotterdam.

Rotterdam Surrogate Family
Posted: Mon April 16, 2007 12:50 PM UTC
I want to live in Roterdam for the Month of June 2007 to work on the biography of a musician who teaches at the conservatory. I am looking for a family (preferably Indian)who can give me a place to live in. In exchange I can give flute lessons as I am a classically trained bamboo flute player or I can offer a room and meals at Kolkata India for a similar period of 1 month.

If no such place can be worked out what are the PG accommodations available near the conservatory for the month of June ?

Rotterdam Transportation questions
Posted: Thu March 29, 2007 04:48 AM UTC
Hi -
I will be traveling to Rotterdam by plane on Monday, April 2nd. My flight arrives at 17:45. I need to travel to Hotel New York to drop off my bags, then on to Ketelaarsstraat 9c (near Leuvehaven) by 19:00.

Can someone tell me a) if it's possible to do this in that amount of time and b) what is the best way to get from the airport to Hotel New York (in the most timely fashion) - I'm assuming I can take the watertaxi from Hotel New York to Ketelaarsstraat.

I appreciate your replies (I start traveling tomorrow, so the sooner the better!)

If someone have a time to show me the city and to make VT meeting, I would appreciate it. I am now in Den Haag.
