Rotterdam Tips for a day trip
Posted: Fri December 7, 2007 05:15 PM UTC
I would like any tips for any interesting places to visit that are no more than a 1 hour drive from the Rotterdam Europort. We will be going to Barendrecht first then after that we can do as we please.

We hope to arrive at Europort Thursday morning but as it's just a daytrip we have to be back on the ferry that evening. We are taking the car so that makes travelling easier :-)

Thanks for any information

Rotterdam Unsafe areas
Posted: Mon October 15, 2007 11:21 AM UTC
Sorry, I wrote that question wrong! We're staying at Eden Savoy (Hoogstraat 81) and want to know if this is a safe area and if there are any pubs/restaurants within walking distance.

And also how to get back from Ahoy in the middle of the night.

Thanks

Rotterdam Internship in Rotterdam
Posted: Fri September 28, 2007 03:20 AM UTC
My son is planning to work an internship in Rotterdam and I have some questions. I don't think his health insurance plan in the U.S. covers him in Rotterdam. How does one go about getting insurance for a 6 months stay?
Approximately what does housing cost if he lives with a roommate? Is it hard to find a roommate since he doesn't know anyone there?
Thank you.

Rotterdam Is this true...
Posted: Mon September 17, 2007 12:17 PM UTC
Hey,

Just wondered whether any of the strip clubs in Rotterdam require you to give your passport and mobile numbers at the door, and if so whether it is then made available to the stripers?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Posted: Thu September 13, 2007 07:58 AM UTC
hello,

I have been living in R'dam and i was in love with a kind of bags. They are like canvas for the rain, oldfashoned, like used, and about 139 euros. I want to buy one by internet, but i can not remenber the bran... I know you can find them in "go on" shop, in oude binnenwerg, Rīdam.

Some one knows the brand I mean or where to buy them???

Thanks very much.

Rotterdam Hostels in Rotterdam
Posted: Tue August 28, 2007 09:43 AM UTC
Are the STAYOK hostels really the cheapest that there is to offer? I know there are lots of places which do not probably have a website and its a case of something across them accidentally, but I don't think 25 euros per bed in a dorm is particularly cheap?

If anyone knows of any others please let me know. My boyfriend will be there as of Mon next week.

Thankyou VTers!!!

Rotterdam Thank you Rotterdam
Posted: Sun July 15, 2007 06:11 PM UTC
HI all. Got back to India after a month in Rotterdam with a two-day break in Istanbul. The people in Rotterdam are really friendly and I felt really welcome and comfortable. (Give or take a coulpe of people who are either suspicious of foreigners or just didnt like my face) I wish to thank VT member ATCL for showing me around the city and for her guidance on places to visit in Antwerp.
Maybe it's my big Kashmiri nose or the Turkish suntan or my mustache but I was mistaken for a turk by everyone in Istanbul!
The book I went to work on in Rotterdam is progressing well. I intend to put in a page or two about Rotterdam and I would like to know if any of you would like to help me with information on Holland in general and Rotterdam in particular. Although I have a lot of travel brochures from the VVV it still helps to have local people to confirm the information. Please reply to this and I will e-mail parts of the manuscript
