Hiya there,
i want to know what times do the ticket offices at Skopje bus station open?as i will be visiting Macedonia for first time in June and i am transiting thru Macedonia en route to the Albanian resort of Saranda and intend to cross the border near Ohrid,i am looking at crossing at Sveti Naum.
However my flight arrives at 5:55pm local time and i have checked the Skopje bus station site and i wont get a bus to Ohrid on same day and i want to travel on first departure to Ohrid which i believe is 6am and i am thinking that i wont be able to buy a ticket between when i leave airport and when the 6am bus leaves.
Can anybody please help me here.

Hi, I am attending the VT Euromeet in Bergamo in early June and as I have some extra time off from work, I am thinking of revisiting my friends in Skopje, hoping to reach there by say late Tuesday/early Wednesday (I would leave Bergamo on the Monday), I would like to take a flight back to London on Thursday. Is this possible and how, I've looked at the Main at seat 61 but his routes are from London, via Budapest & Belgrade.
Thank you

Hello all!
I'm very excited to visit Macedonia soon between 21-25 May 2012.
My parents are both from Prilep (they moved to Turkey around 1956) and I plan to spend 2 nights in Skopje and 2 nights in Prilep to discover the places that I was always told about.
Would you be able to recommend a nice place to stay in both of these places?
Also could you please tell me about the Turkish districts of these two cities?
I just want to have a feeling of my parents' life there...
Regards,
Tarki

As a youth group at thirties Planning to visit Skopje about 3 nights this freezing January, will stay close to City Park, what can we do during the day and night?
Any malls to spend time during day so we don t freeze?
Where should we head to at Friday and Saturday Nights? Heard a place called Makedonski kuka, is it worth to visit?
What about any reliable casino to visit?

Zdravo, I am attending the Virtual Tourist Euromeet this coming weekend, and due to my flight, I am unable to join the group in Bitola, and so I am coming to Ohrid by bus Saturday morning.
This will enable me to explore a little of the city, and so would like some suggestions on how to spend my time, ideally I would like to sample typical Macedonian food and beer near to my hostel in Ognjan Prica (Anton Popov), and see the best of the city's architecture.
I recently visited Sarajevo, and from my guide book I can see similarities between this two cities.
The following day (Saturday) I plan to travel by bus to Ohrid.

I have come across a video about Skopje 2014. Unfortunately I do not speak Macedonian, so I am not too sure what the whole thing is about. The project seems quite ambitious but, what exactly is going on in Skopje? Is the project in progress already? When is it due to be completed?
Thanks
Eugene

Hi,
I am searching for a good bus and/or train-connection from Skopje to Albania.
It need not be Tirana, just a small town close to the border would do, maybe that is even more "typical Albania" than Tirana would be.
It is mainly to hop over the border to get a first feeling for this country before I would dare to maybe drive there with my motorhome some day !

Hi,
I and my husband will be travelling to Komotini an Thessaloniki for 4-5 days and then we would like head our way to Skopje. I have checked Greek Railway website and it seems there are two trains daily to Skopje one at 09:44 and one at 17:04. However I'm not sure whether it is still the same.I tried to contact them to get confirmation over the phone but nobody picked-up the phone.
Do you know whether the train still runs from Thessaloniki to Skopje? If it is not the case what are the other means of transportation to Skopje?
I have read in one of the posts that it is possible to travel to Florina (in Greece) and cross the border and then go to Bitola. Are there taxis or buses from border to Bitola? How much would it cost?
Are there any buses from Bitola to Prizren of Kosovo? If there are we can change our route to prizren and visit Skopje afterwards.
I Will be glad if you can provide us updated information.
Thanks,
Phyllis

Hello all
As i understand it, the best way to travel between Skopje and Pristina is by bus. Is this correct? The journey isn't that long is it?
Also, is it reasonable to visit Ohrid as a day trip or is this pushing it a bit? Is Ohrid itself worth a look or the monastery nearby? Which is preferable? Are there bus tours available from Skopje?
Is 2 nights too much in Skopje?
Anybody got any tips on the city? I read this morning that there's an Irish pub there but since i'm Irish i'm not too pushed but might have to give it a look to see if it has the 'authentic' Irish feel to it :)
Thank everyone
DG

Hi,
I will be in Greece next month and wanted to visit Skopje from Kalampaka. It seems that there is a bus to Thessaloniki. How do I go to Skopje from there? How long does it take? My only options are bus/train as I do not want to take taxis.
Also, I would like to know how far away Ohrid is from Skopje and how to get there.
Thanks.

I have been on the Skopje Bus Station website but the link to the English translation of the timetable doesn't work.
This is what I need to know
1. On a Thursday, what time doe the buses leave Skopje bus station to Pristina?
2. If the bus leaves at say 9am, what time do we need to arrive at the bus station?
3. Will we need to buy the tickets the day before or can we just turn up and get them?
4. Can we take luggage on the bus?
5. Is it a straightforward process getting the ticket, or will we need to learn some Russian?
Many thanks

I need to make a trip from Skopje to either Pristina or Tirana to the airports there and was looking for the fastest/easiest route.
Does anyone know the train schedules from Skopje or have a website that I can look this information up on?
Thank you,
