Luxembourg Luxembourg on Sunday???
Posted: Wed January 4, 2006 12:17 AM UTC
My wife and I are thinking of spending a day in Lux city. However, the way our itinerary is set up, we would be in Lux city on a Sunday. I've read that the city is dead on Sunday. Can somebody elaborate on just how dead? I don't mind if museums are closed but what about shops, restaurants and tourist offices?

If Lux city is really not a good choice for a Sunday, our alternative is Bruges. How is that city on a Sunday? Much thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Also, any tips on hotels to stay at or avoid is also much appreciated.

Luxembourg Luxembourg or Trier (Germany)??
Posted: Wed October 12, 2005 07:24 PM UTC
I'll be moving to Luxembourg in December to take up a job and am currently trying to decide whether to rent a place in Luxembourg or Trier/Germany. I have a busy social life in Vienna where I've been living for the past 8 years, I like going out, I love salsa dancing, I like sports, movies, concerts, arts and generally having a good time and fun. I fear that after Vienna life in LUX will be dull (I went once and the city was dead on a Saturday night). So I've been wondering whether living in Trier might be actually more exciting than in Luxembourg. Grateful for any advice, thanx.

Luxembourg SOME FUN IN LUXEMBOURG CITY
Posted: Fri August 19, 2005 11:37 AM UTC
Hi!
Im moving to Luxembourg city on the September, 15th and Im gonna live&work there till October, 15th. My work wont give me that much opportunities to meet new people :( so I was just wondering if anyone know where could I go to sign up for... Hip-hop-DANCE-classes? University? Any youth/cultural/sport center, a gym? any websites to check out?
Im thinking about something that would give me a nice, forceful exercise, tons of dancing fun from the basic level and a team of positive people. Has anybody heard about anything like that? I would love it if you could lemme know!
thx in advance!

Luxembourg Rent an apartment in Luxembourg City
Posted: Sun July 31, 2005 02:24 PM UTC
Hi.
This may sounds like a cliche, but I am on of them/you who's looking for an apartment to rent in Luxembourg City. I got a job in European Commission which I start on the 1st of September. I am getting some information on atHome.lu but it's hard to decide where to live if you don't know the city. So I'm kindly asking you for some useful information about where to stay in the city and how to find a nice place to stay.

tnx

Luxembourg Room mates & "Wohngenossenschaft", sites ?
Posted: Tue July 12, 2005 01:29 PM UTC
Thought of sharing an apartment for saving on rent and indirectly perhaps learn some more about Lėtzebuerg.

Are there any web pages with rooms available? Athome.lu looks good for apartments, but not for rooms.

Luxembourg driving to Luxembourg
Posted: Sat July 2, 2005 08:37 PM UTC
We'll be driving from Liege to Luxembourg one day of our vacation in July. We have the day and are staying the night in Luxembourg. I'm trying to decide if it would be better to take most of the day driving to see the countryside, with minimal time in Luxembourg, or if we should just go straight to Luxembourg and spend our day there. Is the countryside very beautiful? Some recommended driving through the Hautes Fagnes. I am thinking driving to Vianden may be worth it. Or would Bourscheid be better?

Luxembourg Visit Luxembourg on the weekend of April
Posted: Thu March 31, 2005 05:56 PM UTC
Hi,
I plan to visit Luxembourg on the weekend of April 8, I will take the night train on Friday and will arrive on April 9 morning at 09:36AM, then leave on April 10 around 12PM. Any good suggestion for my tour? I am not a museum fan, so I won't spend much time in the museum.

Thanks a lot.

Luxembourg Luxembourg Sites
Posted: Sun October 31, 2004 01:22 PM UTC
Are there enough things to see and do in Luxembourg, or would it be better to simply use it as a base (I have a room booked there for a night) and make an excursion into the countryside or maybe even Trier, Germany?

Luxembourg Capitals of Europe Trip - Destination 6
Posted: Tue October 19, 2004 02:31 PM UTC
Let me set the situation. I am planning a Capitals of Eurpoe Trip, Sixth on my destinations list is Luxembourg. We will be arriving here on a tuesday night of the second week.

We are a pair of 22 years olds and we are looking for a good time.

Things that are important to us are:

1. Meeting people
2. Food
3. Seeing the sites
4. Cheap accomodation

Not necessarly in that order ;). We are looking for somewhere to stay, we do not mind staying in hostels with shared rooms, we are not picky.

Could someone suggest somewhere to stay, from local knoledge, also somewhere to eat that will have traditional food. More bizzare the better, try it once :)

Bearing in mind we are tight on time can people suggest the best things to do in 2 days in Luxembourg. We will spend two days there and then travel over to Paris in the evening.

If there is anyone in Luxembourg that would like to meet up for coffee or a quick guided tour, please get in contact as we are always open to meeting new friends.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone out there knows of the Atel City Hotel?

1) How far is it from tourist attractions and the train station?
2) Is it clean and worth the 4 star rating?
3) Would you recommend it?

Thank you!

Luxembourg Accomodation and weekend
Posted: Wed August 4, 2004 07:47 AM UTC
I would like to know if there are some cheaper hotels and pensions to stay in the centre of Luxembourg. I will be there maybe on week end since 13-16 august and would like to find a place that won't ruin my future plans for other holiday. Are there any special tarifs during the week end stay? Thanks for help.
If you can write the address and internet contact on the accomodation tips. The prices should be from 25 to 50 euros if possible.

Luxembourg Are there an IT jobs in luxembourg?
Posted: Thu July 8, 2004 07:06 PM UTC
Hi,

I am working in scandinavian region and looking to move to central europe. I have read that luxembourg is a beautiful place. I would love to work there atleast for sometime.

Please do let me know if there are any software jobs. I don't know whether this is the right place to ask, but hope you guys wont mind.

I would really like to see europe and I feel that its best to stay somewhere in the middle of europe so that I can really make use of geographics to see countries...I would like to spend time on country-side, near rivers and do hiking.

Hope to hear some responses soon...

Luxembourg advice on living in Luxembourg
Posted: Thu July 8, 2004 10:00 AM UTC
Hello everyone,

I may have landed a job in Luxembourg but as I unfortunately have never had the opportunity to visit, I am eager to know what the city has to offer.

Will it be an interesting place to live for an active 24 year old?
How high is the cost of living? For example how much should i expect to pay for a 1 bedroom appartment?
Any advice at all would be welcome.

Thanks
