Luxembourg Rail travel via Luxembourg
Posted: Sun February 3, 2008 11:43 PM UTC
I plan a trip in the spring. I remember that I saw a special rail deal connecting Luxembourg, Trier, Saarbrucken & Metz. Is there such a pass? If so, how does it work. I plant to base in Trier a few days and it would be good to know.
In lieu of that what is the fare between Lux. and Trier and Lux. and Nancy or Metz? I could not find a Luxembourg rail site to get this info.
Thanks

Luxembourg Restaurant
Posted: Thu November 29, 2007 10:19 AM UTC
Hello,
this year we decided to skip Christmas party in our city and to have two days trip abroad with my colleagues. 8 of December we will be in Luxembourg. Please, help me to find some restaurant, where 30 people at once can have late lunch or pub or bar, where we can have a meeting point for glass of wine after walking in the city? We don't eat fast food, so I mean some place with atmosphere ;-)
Thank you,
Letute

Luxembourg Reaching Luxembourg and must see for 4-5 hours
Posted: Thu September 20, 2007 08:27 AM UTC
Hi!

I am planning to do a day trip of Luxembourg later this month.
Actually I have a latenight flight from Frankfurt Hahn and thot it might be a nice idea to do a day trip arriving at Lux around noon for abt 5 hours to see places.
1. Any idea if the buses from Hahn to Lux is crowded and one needs to book in advance for the journey? Also the costs for a return trip in the same day..One operator says it charges $22 per person one way by bus.. is it that expensive?
2. The absolute must sees and if they are connected by some tourist bus.. where to find this bus and how much for a half day trip?

Luxembourg Road Trip to Euromeet @ Karlsruhe 2008
Posted: Tue August 14, 2007 10:51 PM UTC
We will arrive in Luxembourg on our way to the Euromeet 2008 in Karlsruhe.

We will arrive in the city of Luxembourg around lunchtime on Wednesday 28th May 2008.
We would like to have a look round and some lunch with the possibilty of a mini VT meeting.

Could you please suggest a restaraunt that serves decent food and could be the venue of the mini VT meeting.

I have posted the meeting in the "Members Meetings and Events" If you can come, please sign up so that I can make your badges.

Luxembourg Visit to Luxembourg
Posted: Tue March 20, 2007 11:22 PM UTC
My wife and I (couple in the 50's) are going to visit Luxembourg city as part of our three countries (BENELUX) trip. We will be spending two nights in the city. This is our first trip to this countries. We have travel to other places in Europe before. Any hotel recomendations, places to go, where to shop, what to do in only those days, etc? We will arrive on May 25 and leave back to Amsterdam on the 27 (weekend). We like music, history, etc. How long is the trip from Brussels? Is train good or drive?

Thanks to all in advance

Luxembourg Family Fun???
Posted: Sat January 6, 2007 03:46 AM UTC
hello!! I just finished organizing the trip to Brugge for the family, making sure the kids will be entertained as much as possible. Now I need to do a day plan for Luxembourg. Does anyone know of family oriented things that will keep a 16 year old.. 9 year old and 11 year old's attention? I've gone on the sites, and looked through here but nothing so far.

I was hoping someone might have a "secret weapon" of some sort :)

Thanks so much!!

Luxembourg Luxembourg Accommodation: 5 months in Lux from March 2007
Posted: Sun December 31, 2006 03:01 PM UTC
Hi everyone,
I'm coming to Lux City in Marc to do a 5 month traineeship at the Official Publication Office.
Because of the very basic wage we get, I’m looking for a cheap accomodation (flat,house-sharing,studio,room or other) in Lux. I can afford max 550-580 euro/month (charges included).
Luxembourg seems to be quite expensive place, so I’d really appreciate any tips and advices about living there.
Also, anyone else on a traineeship, get in touch! You can contact at krassy_@hotmail.com too.
Many thanks in advance! Best wishes!

Luxembourg 2 days in Luxembourg
Posted: Thu November 2, 2006 01:40 PM UTC
Hi everyone,
I'm going to spend 2 days in Luxembourg at the end of December.
I have some questions:
- What is the wheather like in this period? Do it usually snow?
- I will problably stay in a hotel near the train station, is it a good area?
- I will have to wait for the bus to get to the airport at 5 o'clock in the morning with my little brother (he's 14) next to the railway station, will it be dangerous in your opinion?
- which places do you think I can't miss in this 2-days visit?
is it an expensive city? (I'm interested in particular in bar/restaurant)

Thanks to everyone that will help me!

Luxembourg What's the situation?
Posted: Sat May 13, 2006 12:41 PM UTC
In regards to job employment and settling in Luxembourg?

Is it a dull place for social life and what are the most common languages spoken usually?

Was thinking about going there to continue to work on my French and also work full-time with translation and linguisitics..

So what's the verdict??

Luxembourg Luxembourg on Sunday???
Posted: Wed January 4, 2006 12:17 AM UTC
My wife and I are thinking of spending a day in Lux city. However, the way our itinerary is set up, we would be in Lux city on a Sunday. I've read that the city is dead on Sunday. Can somebody elaborate on just how dead? I don't mind if museums are closed but what about shops, restaurants and tourist offices?

If Lux city is really not a good choice for a Sunday, our alternative is Bruges. How is that city on a Sunday? Much thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Also, any tips on hotels to stay at or avoid is also much appreciated.
