Does anybody know of a centrally located internet cafe type place in Heraklion? I'm only going for 1 day and am desperately trying to find a way not to have to haul my laptop around with me.

Is there any public transport (buses) from the airport to these villages, or are there any reasonably priced taxi companies from the airport.

Hello, I am traveling to Crete on the 9th of June and I need a double room in a budget hotel or bed and breakfast in Heraklion for one night. Ideally under Ģ30 per night and within walking distance of the venetian fort . I have run various searches on the internet but I keep ending up with the same, upmarket,expensive hotels in Heraklion centre or in the surrounding area.I understand that smaller establishments perhaps don't advertise on the internet, has anyone got any recommendations? thanks!

Hi everyone I know its a long shot but I am trying to find any information about this village near Heraklion we went there last year and found a great little Taverna with an outside area from which you could see the end of the Heraklion Airport runway in the distance we would like to find somewhere to stay in the village in june if possible.

I am not keen on staying in the city center for the one day that I can spend in Heraklion.

As per what I could search, I found the following beaches around heraklion. Could someone tell me how far they are from heraklion city center and if they have a public transport to and fro?

2. Agia Pelagia
3. Lygaria
4. Malia

aside from the places mentioned below, i'm wondering if there are any other budget hotels in heraklion, perhaps newly opened ones? looking for the most inexpensive but decent single room w/ bath possible.

Is there a reasonable way to get from Heraklion, Crete to Tel Aviv on June 24, 2007? We would prefer not to fly back to Athens and make multiple stops on the way, thereby using up a full day to get there. We did find one non-stop on Expedia, but it leaves in the middle of the night.

Are there small plane flights? charters? Ferrys? We are a family of 4.

It looks like I'll be flying into Heraklion from Athens and arriving in the early evening. I would like to spend one night there, then see Knossos and the archeological musuem before catching a bus west to Rethymnon. Can someone recommend an inexpensive hotel in Heraklion? If possible I'd like to be within walking distance of the museum and the main bus stop that is located by the waterfront. It must be a private room though, no dorms. I have emailed Hotel Lena asking about their rates but they have not sent a response yet. Thank you.

I will be on Crete the first week in September and want to go from there to Albania. All the maps which I have indicate no rail connection. Can I make this trip by ferry or rail?

What is the best way to get around Crete?
i was thinking of renting a car but i wasn't sure if parking is an issue in Heraklion as we want to visit the museum. i wasn't sure if we should get a taxi from the airport to the hotel in Heraklion, visit the museum and then rent a car as we will be leaving the city.
