We are visiting Prague arriving Wednesday the first of July. We are a husband wife couple and we would appreciate a local person or couple taking the time to show us around--we could take you out to lunch or for drinks. Thanks! :)

My friend and I are looking for a mid price hostel (US$20.oo - US$40.oo per person) and found these above at Lonely Planet and would like to hear any good / bad words about them. Or if you can suggest anything else we are open as well.

I leave tomorrow and I am starting to panic a bit. I had to book my flight 4 days in advance for a spur of the moment trip... I land in Prague on Sunday and need to leave for Vienna on Tuesday. I will buy my train ticket the day I land or the day before, but I'm not sure what station services Vienna. Is there a station that is central?

Also - I will be there alone :( I am 26 year old male and will be bored. If anyone knows great places to find people who speak some English, let me know, I really hope to meet some people :) I guess the best place to do that is my hostel for obvious reasons...

I have some real concerns...we are planning on a day stop in Cesky Krumlov for sightseeing on our way from Salzburg to Prague. We realize we will approach Prague late, but want to see CK. Our concerns are about our luggage in the car during this exctended stop in Cesky Krumlov. Any suggestions?

My daughter is going to Prague for a week in August and is looking at day trips that are easy to get to. So far she has identified Plzen and Karlovy Vary as two places she would like to see. Can anyone recommend anywhere else about an hour - two hours from Prague?

While planning a trip to Prague via train, I discovered that the Czech Republic requires proof of medical insurance upon entry. My travel companion has taken notice, as she does not have medical insurance.

My question is, have you ever heard of anyone having to provide proof of medical insurance to enter the Czech Republic; that is, do they enforce this entry requirement?

Hi, I will travel from Prague to either one of the captioned city and stay there for 3 days. Which city/town should I stay? I am sure I will visit Cesky Krumlov. Should I stay there and do a day trip to Ceske Budejovice? Is it worth to visit? But for the other 2 days, I am choosing between Tabor or telc. What should I do? or do you have any other suggestions?

I plan to visit Prague for the first time next year. Please tell me what the weather is like in the latter part of March. Thanks.

Can I just buy at Berlin station without buying thru internet now (I am in NYC)? What is a reasonable cost of one way ticket? Any good site to check prices? I saw one in raileurope and it quotes $100..is that accurate or with added fees? Thanks!

I would be heading to Prague in late june and was intending to take a day trip outta prague. I've heard so much nice things about Kutná Hora and Cesky that i'm in 2 minds over which to go. Any one's able to give suggestions as to which is more worthwile to go? Read about the bone church in Kutná Hora but also alot of great stuff in Kutná Hora.

i'd like to rent a car and travel down to Croatia for a week. any suggestions of a good, cheap rental car company to use here in Prague? seems to rent a car here is pricey :(

Is it a trendy “cool” part of town? We’re a couple of guys (24) on a backpacking trip thru Europe, so we want to have as much fun as possible.

I'm still trying to find a cheap way to get from Breclav to the Czech-German border, travelling by train and taking my bicycle.

I found one connection that goes from Breclav to Dolni Zleb via Prague and Decin and that doesn't use EC trains. Unfortunately this connection leaves Breclav at 01:27 am.

My question, does anybody know whether the train station is in a rough area? Would it be ok to sit around there for a few hours that late at night?

I'm trying to find out the price for train travel from Bratislava or Breclav to Decin with and without EC trains.

I already checked with jizdenka.cz and know that it should be 404 CK (15 EUR) from Breclav to Decin. Does this price change if I use EC trains and carry a bicycle?

What would be the cheapest way to get to Decin from either Bratislava or Breclav without changing more than 3 times?

My ultimate goal is Germany, either Leipzig or Dresden. I'm trying to get to the Czech-Saxon border as cheap as possible by train from either Slovakia or Austria. I'll be coming from Hungary on the Danube Cycle trail. Current plan is to go as far as Bratislava, but if time allows I might go on into Austria.

I would like to travel next Friday taking the 18:29 train from Hlavni Nadrazi to Berlin. I have been researching a lot and having confusing and sometimes contradictory information. Questions:

1) How much do you think such ticket would cost?
2) Cheaper if bought as roundtrip?
3) Cheaper if bought with a few days notice? I read 3 days will mean saving 50% but I think this is a strange thing. Anyway... I don't have 3 days anymore.

I'm thinking of meeting up with a friend who will be in Prague as part of his Eastern Europe travels during July.

Looking for flights, I can only find a connection direct from Madrid for 60€ (wizzair.com), though would prefer to fly from Barcelona (as I will be just leaving a festival there at the time).

Any ideas? And is that price from Madrid reasonable? I've never used wizzair before and don't know what to expect from them.

Also, of the 2 different airports, are either of them particularly far from the centre of things? Just to get an idea of my travel costs and times etc. since I'll only be there for 2 days.

Oh, and cheap hostel prices... have tried to get an idea from other threads but can't find a figure. any guidelines? cheap (and probably central) is the most important factor.

I'm trying to give the hotel taxi the pickup instructions, however not able to find the airport name. The tickets do not have the info, Wizz air website dosen't have so need your help.
