Taxi fare question Posted: Sun November 1, 2009 04:15 PM UTC
We will be arriving on our cruise ship to corfu for about 7hrs or so.. (1300-2000). How much should I expect to pay for a taxi at the port to take me to Achilleon palace? Are there taxi's available back or should I hire the same one to bring me back to Corfu town?

Corfu Airport Posted: Mon July 27, 2009 02:08 PM UTC
We will be flying into Corfu in a couple of weeks and joining a cruise ship so are not too worried about ordering an inflight meal on the outward journey. However, our flight home is early evening and we're wondering whether it's best to book an inflight meal or whether there are restaurants or shops selling sandwiches, drinks, etc in Corfu airport. Just trying to plan ahead.
Many thanks

Paleokastritsa or Roda? trqvel alone. Posted: Mon July 20, 2009 02:11 PM UTC
Hi,
I am 32 and a single traveller. In 5 days I will be going to or Paleokastrista or Roda, but can't make up my mind. I do not like mass-tourism, but seen that I will be travelling alone, I do want to go to a place were it will not be that difficult to get in contact with other people.
Also, does anybody know a good B and B over there? (adress and telnb?)
Thank you very much

Vacation with small kids? Posted: Wed May 13, 2009 11:29 AM UTC
Hi,
I'm looking for a warm place to spend a 2-week vacation with my small boys (3 and 4 years old).
Found some really cheap flights to Corfu but am wondering if this is the right place... hence a couple of questions I would appreciate if someone could answer:
- isn't it too hot in August? I love heat but think kids may not like temp > 30 degrees C.
- what is a good spot to stay with small kids?
I would be flying in with my sister and her boyfriend. Ideally I would like to stay in a place with a swimming pool for the kids. This can be a hotel or a flat. Can someone recommend something?
Thanks,
Catherine

Kassiopi Corfu Posted: Mon January 5, 2009 01:29 PM UTC
Hi,
Me and hubby are going to Kassiopi in June 2009 and were wondering how busy it gets then and is the weather mainly hot. We are stying right on the harbour at Kissimiss pension/hotel. we are hoping to hire from the the local boat place aswell to spend alot of time on the water, would it be worth it hiring a boat for the week, just the little run around ones which can be had from the harbour.

corfu..santorini...athina...delhpi! Posted: Tue October 7, 2008 08:39 AM UTC
Hello,
I would like to know what would be the best way to cover the following places: Corfu->Santorini->Athina->Delphi
I will be flying into Corfu.
Hence following are my questions regarding the route:
1. How long does it take to take a ferry from Corfu to Santorini, and how much does it cost?
2. Santorini to Athina: cost and time. How far is the main sights area in athina from the dock/harbour.
3. Athina to delphi: mode of transport, time and cost?
4. Is olympia a better chice or delphi?
Also, I would like to continue my journey to Italy...so is Athina better to fly out from?
Thank you all!

Local Bus Posted: Wed October 1, 2008 06:39 PM UTC
We love to take local busses. Is there a local bus on Corfu that I could take for its entire route to do a somewhat scenic or circular tour of the island? If so, what is its number and where can I board nearest to the cruise port or the centre of town?

Weather in October Posted: Fri September 26, 2008 10:13 AM UTC
Hi
I hope someone can help but I have had heard mixed reviews about the weather in Corfu around 20th October.
Am I correct in thinking that it is still hot in the day and needing a cardigan at night? Does it just have showers on and off during this period or is it overcast and rainy for a whole day or so? . Many thanks. Christine

Codeine Not Allowed? Posted: Tue August 26, 2008 12:43 AM UTC
Hi heard somewhere that drugs containing codeine are illegal in Greece, as in certain other countries. My husband is currently taking it for management of knee pain. Will we be allowed to bring it into the country if it is in the original packaging with his name on it, or is it just not allowed? Any help appreaciated.
Thanks

Corfu Coastal Walk Posted: Wed July 30, 2008 10:03 PM UTC
Hello - I'll be in Corfu for 1 day as part of a cruise in October. 7AM - 5PM. They offer a Corfu Coastal Walk tour (4 miles), but I'd like to see if we can do it ourselves. It starts in Nissaki. Does anyone know if buses run there, or if we'd have to get a taxi? (And how readily available they are by the port?)
The walk goes through Agni, Kalami, Kouloura, Kerasia and Agios Stefanos.
I'm not positive we'd be able to find the "path", but if anyone has done this and can give me some advice, it'd be helpful!

Gouvia to Corfu Town Posted: Sun April 13, 2008 07:03 PM UTC
Dear all,
i'll be visiting Corfu this summer and my travel agent has offered me the Park Hotel in Gouvia. Just wanted to check whether Gouvia is a good place to stay at for the holiday? Is it too quiet? Are there good beaches and bars around?
Another important question - How far is it from Corfu Town? And what's the best way to travel to Corfu town?
Thanks a lot

Hotel close to the harbour in Corfu Town Posted: Sat March 1, 2008 05:36 PM UTC
Hi.
I have just bought a flat in Saranda, Albania and the nearest airport for us to use is the one at Corfu. The plane arrives late at night so we need to stay one night in Korfu Town before heading over to Albania with the ferry in the morning.
So, do anyone know of a nice hotel? (We need no luxury as it's only one short night).
Hope you can help!
Thanks

Travel from Rome to Corfu Posted: Sun February 24, 2008 08:40 PM UTC
I want to meet some friends in Corfu while I am travelling in Italy. Is it easier (cheaper/travel time?) to fly from Rome to Corfu or find my way to Brindisi then take the ferry to Corfu.

Ferry to Corfu Posted: Wed September 12, 2007 09:53 PM UTC
Hi!
I'm going to Corfu in October, and the most convenient ferry is in Igoumenitsa , the one coming from Venice.
Tried to buy tickets on Internet - they are unavailable for this line.
Anybody knows:
does it mean that there is NO TICKETS or you just can't buy them in advance
because it is international line? Anybody had experience with that?
