I am planning my first trip to Mykonos for the beginning of September. What is a nice area to stay in the island? Do you guys can suggest a good and inexpensive hostel in a fun and secure area?

Am so lost hehe, i want to go mykons by ferry so what should i say to the Taxi at Athens airport ? which port?
I didn't book online any ferry ticket because the planes from where am coming they are always Delay am sure, so i dn't wanna book the ticket & then come to the port late & the ferry left without me , we are 2 of us , so is it bad if i didn't book in advance ?
Also one last question, as am staying there 13 days which Island is good to see other than Mykonos ?

I am hoping to catch the flyingcat4 from mykonos to paros which leaves at 14.45.
Does anybody know which port in mykonos it leaves from? new or old?

I'm planning to travel to Mykonos on the first or second week of September with my two grown up daughters. We're going to meet up with friends and would like some advice on a where to stay. We're thinking about a hotel close to a beach and with a pool. Fairly close to tavernas etc. Any suggestions? Look forward to hearing from you.

Does anyone stayed in Sofia Village Hotel before ? is it ok and is it too far from the city or its complicated to go to the city from the hotel ?

Or anyone knows any other hotel nice and not expensive and close to things?

Where is the best place or beach in Mykonos ?

We will be visiting Santorini and Mykonos in the end of July. Friends told me that they never book accomodation and when arriving with the ferry they find rooms there from the people outside the ferry terminal. Is this information reliable? thanks

planning a trip to Greece this summer, and I'm looking at accomadations for the island. I want to book a place for 4 people, so a quad room would be ideal. Which place on the island is the best to stay? In Chora, or outside of town? Money is not really a concern, b/c we are not budgeting while on Mykonos. Please give me any suggestions as to where to stay (i.e. Tagoo, Agios Ioannis, Platis Gialos, etc).
The group is consisting of 4 girls in their mid-twenties, somewhere close to nightlife, or that has easy access to it either by foot or taxi. Also would be ideal to be near a beach but not necessary! Max price per night for a hotel is 350 euros for a quad (per room not person).

Gosh, since I am a solo traveler, its really expensive staying in Mykonos, 50euro and above per nite. Wondering if there is anyone out there willing to share accommodation to split the cost, I be in Mykonos on 10June...

We're going on a cruise and will be in Mykonos for only a few hours in the evening. We arrive at 6pm, and have to be back on the ship when it departs at 11pm. We'll be on our honeymoon and neither of us have been to the Greek Isles before... what are the "must see" things we should do with the little time we have in Mykonos?

Do you think I will be able to find a nice ans simple hotel for 80€ in Mykonos? Am I a dreamer? Please, I will really appreciate if I you can give me some hotel recommendations!

We are going to be in Mykonos on June 23rd (Saturday) and are looking for some overnight ferry to Heraklion. Is there such a ferry availble? All I see on-line are fast ferries that take 4 hours forcing us to spend the night in Heraklion. Also these fast ferries are quite a bit expensive.

Any help is much appreciated!!

How will Mykonos be in the first week of September? Will any of the craziness from August spill into Sept? Went to Ibiza a couple years back during the first week and it was perfect for us - still good crowds and big DJs, but comfortably crowded. thanks,

Does anybody know if you can buy ferry tickets at the new port?. Ferry we are catching leaves from new port and we only have 1 hour to get from airport. I know where to buy tickets in the old port, but will taxi drivers wait while I buy tickets at the old port? Could be difficult getting a taxi at old port if no ferries due.

I am going to mykonos in the summer and I am looking for a reasonably priced hostel or hotel anywhere on the island but preferably in town. I am considering paradise beach hostel but am not too sure about it. If anyone has any advice or has stayed in mykonos could you please give me some advice.

Searching online, I found two companies running this route: Hellenic Seaways (once daily) and Sea Jets (not daily). I've read that sometimes service gets canceled due to high winds. How likely is this to happen in mid-June? Problem is hotels in Santorini are hard to book and some require prepayment. Does anyone have any experience traveling in the summer?

After much careful consideration, I've decided that Mykonos sounds the right place for me for my summer holiday this year. I'm a single, lady traveller who likes beautiful beaches, trendy sophisticated restaurants and night life and likes to let her hair down every now and again! I was thinking of staying near Paradise beach as I'm more of a day time party animal than dancing into the early hours of the morning. Can anyone advise a good place to stay. I'd like a nice clean room near to amenities bars, restaurants ect... Not bothered whether it has a pool, but a nice view from a terrace would be fab. Any help would be appreciated.
Will be travelling late June 2007 for 10-14 nights.

I'm going to Greece via Bari, Italy on April. I just have two questions:

1. From Patra to Larissa Station in Athens, does the train stop at Piraeus? If not, how can I best get to Piraeus?
2. I'm wondering if I should book ferry tickets already online for the Pireaus - Mykonos - Pireaus leg of my trip, considering I have trains to catch going back to Italy. How much do the ferries cost when bought there? Does anyone know?

I'm already planning my next trip and I'm seriously thinking of Greece. Maybe a couple of days in Athens, and then the Greek Isles. Mykonos is definately one of the islands I want to visit. I know there are more, but which are the best? I've got only 3 weeks, and I don't want to spend 1 day in each island, so probably 3 or 4 will be enough.
I'm looking for great beaches, nice parties, and beautiful surroundings... (is that too much to ask???), so is it best to go by July or August? Anyone?

A friend and I are going to Mykonos for 2 nights (as part of our week long Greek vacation) primarily to party. Can anyone recommend a hotel near Paradise Beach, Cavo Paradiso, etc.? All I want to do is dance, dance, eat, dance some more, then sleep. My budget is approx 80euros/night. I really want somewhere clean, nice, quiet, and safe. I don't want the party to follow me back, but I need the bed close enough to make it easy to get back safely.

I've looked at Hotel Tagoo, but I'm not sure how far it is from where I want to spend my time. I need Mapquest version Mykonos. :)

Just realized I will have a second stop in Mykonos on my cruise; was planning to spend the first stop visiting Delos in the AM and doing a walking/eating(!) tour of Mykonos town in the afternoon.

For my second stop, I'd like to do something a little different. Will only be in town for the day (8-5:30). Is it worth the visit to Ano Mera? Would it make sense to take a local bus (South Station, I think), and do they run frequently enough back to Mykonos town? Don't want to miss my ship!

Hi,I´m thinking about going to Mykonos next keek. Does anybody know ibiza? about party culture, are they similar? which are the best clubs? are they still open? any clausure party on those dates? Which are the best nudist beaches? is it exclusively a guy place? Are the clubs tickets so expensive as in ibiza?
