Lille Someone out there looking for a flatmate?
Posted: Fri August 29, 2008 03:52 AM UTC
The daughter of my best friend (25y) is looking for people in Lille who would rent her a room for 6.5 to 8 months, from the coming October. She will be at the university and study French, so a place in a student flat would be perfect.

Hi, my aged parents are arriving in Lille on 9 Sept 08 and wish to visit the military cemetery at La Gorgue (or is it Levantie?). They are staying at Hotel Des Tours, can they get to the cemetery using public transport, if so which bus train and from where in Lille?
Any other help on exact location of graves would be welcomed

We want to go to Feuchy Chapel British Cemetery to visit my mother-in-law's uncle's war grave. What is the best way to get there please? We hope to visit either the Sunday or the Monday.

Thanks

Nord-Pas-de-Calais boulogne to cap gris nez
Posted: Wed July 16, 2008 08:26 PM UTC
I will be traveling to Boulogne sur Mer in August and want to visit Cap Gris Nez, and hopefully stay somewhere close to there. Is there a public bus that stops in those small towns around there? What's the nicest town to stay in nearby? And does anyone know of any bird watching day-tours? Thanks very much-

Nord-Pas-de-Calais Dover to Boulogne
Posted: Thu March 6, 2008 07:30 PM UTC
I am considering a trip to Nausicaa in Boulogne. I am starting in Dover and am likely to be travelling by P & O as a foot passenger. I was just wondering how long the journey from Calais Ville train station to Bolougne ville station takes via train and how much 2 adult return tickets are likely to cost.

Thanks

Lille To Lille or not to Lille?
Posted: Thu February 28, 2008 02:52 AM UTC
If you had 4.5 days in Belgium and 8 days in Paris, with 1 day to spend where ever you wanted. Would you A. Spend it in Lille, B. Add it to Paris or C. Add it to Belgium (we are going to Brussels, Brugge, and Ghent)???

What is Lille like? I read about it in Fodors, but it doesn't say too much except its a small town and there is a big mall type thing to shop in. Is this town worth stopping in?

Nord-Pas-de-Calais ferry to Dover and train beyond
Posted: Tue February 12, 2008 09:42 PM UTC
I saw some older postings about this topic, but I wanted more updated info.
I am in process of planning a possible trip to Belgium & northern France. One of the things I might sqeaze in for a day (if feasible) is a ferry trip from Calais to Dover & train to Canterbury and back same day. Is this a possibility? Does it make sense for one day? I don't wish to travel to London, just Canterbury to see the cathedral and town.

Lille Bus Tour of Lille?
Posted: Mon January 28, 2008 09:48 AM UTC
Hi Folks,

I'm taking my mum to Lille on Wednesday and although I've stopped off here a couple of times in recent years I can't remember too much about the place.
I seem to remember last time that there was a bus tour of available, now does this still run? and this time of year? walking tour would be great - but given it's my mum, I figure a bus would be better, age and all that ;-)

Plus, if anyone has any suggestions for a nice restaurant for lunch, that would be cool :-)

Cheers

Can anyone recommend a good North African restaurant for a long lunch in Lille, preferably near the musee des beaux arts. I've noticed mixed reviews for La Maison du Couscous Le Grain Magique and El Koutoubia...are they any good?

Lille Car Rental
Posted: Wed December 12, 2007 05:18 AM UTC
My Wife & I will visit Lille in April 2008.
We wish to hire a car and visit the war Cemetary wher my GGrandfather was buried in 1917 and were looking a renting a car for the day.
Average prices on the net seem to be 100 euro for a day which is extreme by Aussie standards. Is this normal or are their cheaper options available?
any advice would be appreciated.

cheers

Nord-Pas-de-Calais Campsites near Calais
Posted: Tue June 12, 2007 09:00 PM UTC
Hi
Can anyone recommend a campsite in or near Calais/St Omer/A26(heading to Reims next day). Arriving by eurotunnel with husband and 2 young children at about 8pm so want one as close to these places as possible. So long as shower/toilet block is clean we're not to bothered about other facilities on offer as it is only a one night stopover.
Thanks

Lille Lille Flandres station: 6 minutes enough to change trains?
Posted: Fri May 11, 2007 08:25 PM UTC
Hi,

I'm planning to take an IC train from Antwerpen to Lille Flandres, then catch a TGV train to Paris Nord. There are only 6 minutes between when the IC train arrives and the TGV departs.

From some pictures, it looks like there are 4 tracks in the Lille Flandres station.

Is 6 minutes enough time to change trains? [Of course being next to the door and all ready when the train arrives]

Thanks

Is this enough time to change trains?
