Paxoi Island Travel Forum

Someone can tell me if there is a sufficient nightlife in this island?
I don't want Rimini or Ibiza(because we are 3 couples,21),but only a place where to drink with music,or a disco-club...what do people do during the night here??

My boyfriend and I are trying to plan a trip to paxoi for the last two weeks in september but the flight tims from london gatwick and ferrys seem to be inpracticable times. Does anyone have any advice on the best way to do this?

Also we would really like to stay in a traditional building or in our own one double bedroom villa near a beach but not as part of a resort. Maybe we are being unrealistic, but so far costs have been around £800 for 2 weeks at this time. Does anyone know of somewhere cheaper and suitable to stay?

We also plan to try and get around the island a bit. Can you easily hire bikes?

Can you hire a sailing dinghy (Laser or similar) in Lakka for the week and how much?

My wife an I will be staying at the Amfitriti Hotel Apartments in Lakka the 1st 2 weeks of Sept, 2006. In the description it says that this 'hotel' is next to a beach. Do you know the name of the beach? Also do you have any photos of the Hotel or where I could find some.

My boyfriend and I will be going to Paxi for the first time in a few weeks. Can anyone recommend 'must see' places/things to do please? From what I've seen on the internet, the island looks beautiful. We'll be staying at the Marmari Stone Houses in Loggos... has anyone stayed there before?

Flying from Manchester, UK into Corfu... then its the boat over to Paxi. Hopefully a large boat, so I can't feel the waves and get sea-sick! :o)

Any help/advice would be gratefully appreciated.

I had already heard that numbers are down so far this season, but I've just seen a last minute deal in the Saturday Times for my favourite Greek island of Paxos, which is offering almost 40% off the original price. It's for the last week in June, which is usually quite a popular time to visit Greece, so things must be worse than I thought. Has anybody in Greece at the moment, or who's just got back noticed it being particularly quiet?

It sounds like the Games have put a lot of people off visiting Greece this year and this is probaby the right time to grab a bargain holiday.

Off to Paxos next week (YAY) - have booked a package holiday for a change. Just wondering - anyone know what the Eritha Apartments are like???

(Got to be honest - providing they're clean and have a bed and somewhere to sit out - I'll be content!)

Also is the Rosa di Paxoi any good?? It's both mine and my partner's birthdays while we're away and I've sort of earmarked this as "birthday night out meal".
