Zambia Zambia-Togo sept 5 (football)
Posted: Tue August 26, 2008 06:10 PM UTC
Hello all,

As I will be in Zambia that day, I wonder how it is to visit the football game between Zambia and Togo. I think this game is important for both countries in the WC 2010 qualifications.

I once saw a football game in The Gambia, however only 80 spectators showed up so the atmosphere was smooth.

Therefore I wonder what to expect. I think it is safe to go using common sense, but I wonder whether the athmoshere changes if Zambia looses the game.

I'ld be thankful for any practical advise concerning this matter.

Thanks in advance.

Baughn.

Livingstone Day trip visa for Livingstone?
Posted: Fri June 13, 2008 09:28 PM UTC
Does anyone know if it's still possible for a US national to get a "day trip" visa (the one that only allows you to stay in the country until the end of the day on which you entered) at the Victoria Falls/Livingstone border checkpoint? I'll be staying in Victoria Falls for several days in late July and would like to take one day to see things from the Zambian side and check out Livingstone - but if it's true that US nationals are now only eligble for the US$135 multiple entry visas, that becomes a pretty pricey day trip! If anyone has been there recently, an update would be appreciated.

Because of the current situation in Zimbabwe, does anyone feel this trip is unsafe?

Zambia Chimfunshi Wildlife Sanctuary
Posted: Sat March 29, 2008 01:28 PM UTC
Hi,I'm thinking of travelling to Chimfunshi to work for a couple of months around June-july of this year,
I just wondered if anyone has been to the sanctuary and can tell me a bit about the area?
I read a good deal on the internet about this area in zambia not being that safe, and just wondered how safe and easy it is to get transport from the airport to the sanctuary?
Also is there email facilities and shops nearby?

Zambia Visa for Zambia for Australian Passport holder
Posted: Sun February 24, 2008 04:16 AM UTC
I know this was changed recently, & Zambia are routinely the country that ignore emails. Is it easy to obtain visa upon entry at border crossing at Chipata rather than arranging beforehand, and how much is it now?

Dear fellow travellers,

any tip how can I travel to Mozambique (the best to Ilha de Mozambique, but not crucial)...?

I understand that fly is probably only option... so, any tips on fly companies, the best without any stopover?

Merci!

What is the best way to get from Jo'burg to Lubumbashi?

I can get to Jo'burg fairly cheaply, but the airlines want another two thousand dollars to get to Lubumbashi?

Any thoughts?

Next month, I´m flying into Lusaka on my way to South Luangwe National Park. Still thinking whether to skip this city or hang around for a few days. Anyone knows a good reason to spend a few days here? While I like to see African wildlife, I also like to experience modern African living. Any good bars with live African music in Lusaka?

Zambia Buying Visa in Livingstone, Zambia

Hi I'll be visiting Livingstone to do medically related volunteer work and was told that I would need a business visa. Can I buy a business visa at the airport? How reliable is this method? Would I be rejected for any reason? Would you recommend that I get one through the embassy here?

Hi

We are staying at Zambezi sun resort and have read on some other sites any other "plastic"other than Visa is not acceptable! Does anyone have any experience of this...we have US dollars we will be taking but will have our cards too...if I offered to pay by for example Mastercard, is there a possibility this will be refused?

Any help would be appreciated.

Zambia Zambia..yellow fever vacination required??
Posted: Mon February 12, 2007 07:43 PM UTC
Hi

We are staying at Zambezi Sun hotel in june, which is on the zambian side of vic falls. We are currently establishing what vacs we need for our trip which takes in Cape Town and Kruger first. We are flying from SA to Zambia via Zimbabwe rather than direct to Livingstone.

Our medical clinic said we didnt need vac for yellow fever, but a post on another forum said you did! Has anyone any experience or confirmation or indeed travelled this way?...what we dont want is some hassle at Zimbabwe airport on way back from Zambia asking for yellow fever certificate. If was needed prefer it done in uk, rather than zimbabwe airport....any advice would be most useful.

Thanks

Zambia Traveling to Congo via Zambia
Posted: Mon February 5, 2007 06:00 PM UTC
We are looking to travel to Lubumbashi, DRC. We thought the best way to get there would be to fly into Lusaka, Zambia and travel across the border. That way we could also visit Zambia a little. Does anyone know the cheapest way to fly in? We would be flying from US/Canada. We had thought November, but flights seem to be pricier. When is it cheapest to go? Would it be less expensive to go via Europe? What visas should we plan on getting? Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated!

Zambia do-able trans-SE-africa?
Posted: Mon January 22, 2007 08:39 PM UTC
hi everybody!
i am working on a (possibly crazy!) plan to travel overland all the way from cape town to nairobi, or opossite, in about 5 weeks time, stoping only at major sites, using mainly public transportation, around augoust.
main 'targets' are:

-cape town
-sand dunes in namibia
-okavango delta
-victoria falls
-zambezi river
-zanzibar
-serengeti np
-masai mara np

do you think it is doable in this length of time? (limit from my boss!)
any ideas, sugestions -on rather tight budget basis- are absolutely usefull to me
i know it sounds 'mission impossible' but i hope you can help
thank you very much

Hi everybody!
Does anybody know if it is possible to go with public transport from Lusaka to Lake Tanganyika (and hopefully to Kigoma)? How long does it take? Does it make sense to book a tour or a guide or something?
Thank you!

Zambia Flying NBO to Victoria Falls
Posted: Fri October 27, 2006 10:07 PM UTC
Is there a cheap way to fly from Nairobi to the Victoria Falls area? I'd prefer to get straight to the falls but i'm not sure if you can. Kenya Airways has flights one-way for about $550 to Lusaka but i'm looking for something cheaper than that.

Is that even possible?

Thanks!
