My family and I will be traveling to Limassol in June and we would like to hire an English speaking guide for the day to show us around. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Kyrenia District Driving from Larnaca airport to Kyrenia
Posted: Fri May 9, 2008 01:21 PM UTC
It looks like the cheapest flying option from the UK is to go to Larnaca and travel across. How long does it take to drive, will it be possible to buy the additional required car hire insurance at approx 2am and do many of the Larnaca car hire companies actually refuse to let you take the car across?

I know someone has previously suggested not telling them and then drive carefully but don't really want to take that risk.

What is the approx taxi fare bearing in mind my flight arrives at around midnight? Was wondering if it would work out cheaper to get taxi to/from Larnaca and hire a car locally.

Thanks in advance

Posted: Thu May 8, 2008 08:57 AM UTC
Hi, I am thinking of moving to Cyprus for approx 1month to 3months. We are In the Eu Irish so I believe you can stay up to 90 days freely. Where would be the best area to stay? or is it big enuf 2 travel to dif areas, holiday, scenic beauty beaches etc along with possible work if needed. Do you need a permit to work or is it ok if you are an irish citizen. Does anyone no anything on longterm renting? I would really like any feedback as we were thinking of going late Summer. What is the cost of living? etc

Paphos Taxi from Airport
Posted: Fri May 2, 2008 11:21 AM UTC
We have booked an apartment in July via a letting agent in the centre of Paphos. Can anyone give me an idea of the cost of a taxi from the aiport? Should we pre book one via the letting agent (they are quoting approx £28 GBP) or should we just get one from outside the airport?

Paphos daphne hotel and apartments and other general queries???
Posted: Wed April 30, 2008 08:03 AM UTC
hi guys,

me and my girlfriend are both 22 and we are stayin in the daphne apartments for 10 nights from 8th july to the 18th july this summer and was wondering if anyone had any reviews on them, etc. we are in a 1 bed apartment and self catering.

there doesn't seem to be many reviews around the web and it isn't even on the list on this website. photos make it look ok, pretty basic but a good location which is all we need really.

also i was wondering how hot it actually gets in paphos as i heard it got up close to 35 celsius but i have read elsewhere that is is more like high 20's.

very much looking forward to what looks like a fab place to go. does anyone also know if the redevelopment of the barbour area is complete yet as i am hoping it is not a building site when we are there.

daphne seems to be a close location to the seafront near the harbour, are the beaches here okay or do you need to travel further such as coral bay?

thanks in advance for any advice.

Cyprus Taxi and public transportation in Cyprus
Posted: Sun April 13, 2008 11:33 AM UTC
Approx how much would a taxi on the following legs cost
a) Larnaca - Limassol
b) Limassol - Paphos
c) Paphos - Larnaca

How about shared taxis? Are they reliable and easy to locate?

Finally the buses;
I read somewhere that they don't go on Sunday. Do this also apply to intercity buses?
In general: are intercity buses on the beforementioned routes frequent and fast?

thanks in advance :-)

Paphos District Goats milk and car seats (random I know!!!)
Posted: Sun April 6, 2008 09:22 PM UTC
Hi
Will shortly be visiting Paphos, it's been a little while since I've been there so can't remember and would appreciate your help!
Some members of my party can't have cows milk and drink goats milk. I know I'm going to the country of goats and sheep produce BUT can I get goats milk in Woolies or one of the supermarkets there pretty easily? Stupid question, I know, but I've got to check.
Also, can anyone recommend a reputable car hire company there? We also need to hire car seats for infants, or is it advisable to bring our own?
Thanks!!!

Cyprus Summer holiday in Cyprus
Posted: Wed February 27, 2008 12:45 PM UTC
Last year, me and some friends (belgian) of mine went on vacation for 2 weeks to Croatia. It was very amusing, and so now we're looking for a new destination for this summer. Cyprus apparently seems more "exotic" than Croatia, which is good. But because we mainly travel with tents, we wondered if this is also possible in Cyprus. I can easily imagine that you mainly have these huge "4-5 stars hotels" and that's not what we want to do. We'd like to travel around, visit nice places en spend a lot of time at different beaches.

Is this possible?

And do you still have parts whit nice flora/fauna in Croatia (not too civilized)?

Paphos Weather in Paphos
Posted: Sat February 23, 2008 12:03 AM UTC
Hi, I have just booked a villa in Coral Bay Paphos for 1 week 19th April to 26th April and would like to know if anyone has been there at that time who can let me know what the weather will be like. I am praying that it will be hot enough to sunbathe as my son needs some sun for medical reasons. Also, if the evenings are cold do we need a jacket?
Thanks,
Lesley.
