Travel by train Posted: Wed September 9, 2009 07:51 AM UTC
Dear All,
I am supposed to fly to Sousse this weekend.
Definetelly I don't want to miss my chance to travel a bit and visit
couple of another cities in Tunisia.
As I understood, the train connection between Sousse and e.g. Tunis,
Mahdia, Stax is very good and flexible.
Is it really so?
Can I really travel e.g. to Tunis city and come back in several hours?
Please let me know how secure is to travel there by train?
Is there is any recommended dress code?
Any other related advices are welcome as well.
Thank you.

Impressions of Sousse Posted: Tue June 10, 2008 07:21 PM UTC
I've booked a holiday in late December in Sousse staying at the Tour Khalef hotel. Has anyone stayed there or been to Sousse and what were your impressions? Also where else did you go? I'm planning on seeing El Djem and Kairoun. Am I missing somewhere close by?

Couple of questions.... Posted: Thu March 20, 2008 11:17 PM UTC
Hi there,
Can anyone inform me if i'm in danger of being ate alive by mosies in Port El Kantaoui??? I was in Egypt last year and didnt get a single bite but have been to Greece and still bear the scars to this day.
Also, with Tunisia being an Arabic country whats the story here with clothing in the street/beach etc?? I know Sharm El Sheikh was pretty relaxed as it is a tourist destination and wondering if here will be similar.
One more thing, i'm hearing conflicting views on this place, one person said they loved it and the other said they hated it. Can anyone out ther sell it to me in order for me to look forward to it again.
My fingers are crossed Sousse has plenty of sunshine come May..
:)

Where to learn Arabic? Posted: Tue February 26, 2008 03:23 AM UTC
I am a college student interested in learning Arabic. By summertime, I will have completed 2 semesters of Arabic. I am extremely interested in continuing my learning of Arabic over the summer, and I was wondering where the best place to learn the language would be. Some things that are of importance to me are: quality of instruction, location of the school, and activities outside of the school. Since I am going alone, I want to study somewhere where I won't feel secluded or outside of society. Also, scenery is of great importance. All things considered, where would you guys recommend studying Arabic? (I want to study for a period of about 2 months...I'm not sure if that changes anything).

Toddler's activities Posted: Wed February 20, 2008 09:22 PM UTC
Hello,
Does anyone have any recommendations for activities (in addition to the pool and beach) that may appeal to a 3 year old. I know I am looking forward to seeing the historic buildings, medina, bazzar - however she may not appreciate it... One forum has mentioned Friguia Park but I have no idea of how far away it is...?
Thanks in advance

Jellyfish - are they in the sea all year round? Posted: Wed February 20, 2008 09:09 PM UTC
I've read one of the tips about dealing with jellfish stings. Does anyone know whether the jellyfish are in the sea all year round or are they specific to specific months? We are visiting in a few weeks time with a toddler and I want to know whether to buy a protective suit.
Many thanks

The best place to pick up a traditional mint tea in sousse Posted: Mon September 3, 2007 08:22 PM UTC
Me and my girlfriend are off to sousse for a week this sunday. we only booked yesterday so were both really excited.
Personally i love food, drink and culture. i read in a guide book that a tunisian tradition is hot mint tea served with crushed pine nuts, although it can be had to find a good one. where is the best place to find this in sousse?
we are also planning a trip to tunis and to the colluseum, plus the museums in sousse. is there anywhere else that is a must see??
thanks for any advice, im really excited as this is still one of my first exploring vacations!

sousse, alone for 2 weeks Posted: Sun July 8, 2007 05:20 PM UTC
I'm reading mixed reviews about sousse now. I've just booked 2 week in sousse mid Aug, as I originaly read it was a pretty traditional/cultural and chilled area. Now I'm reading about it being a kicking area. I always try to avoid the brits on the *** groups when I go away (hate them), I tend to try and find the traditional areas to explore.
Have I jumped in a bit early before doing my research. I naturaly thought with the local culture, drinking mobs would be the last thing I'd find there, apparently not.
Anyone know what to expect?
