Porec Transport from the airport to Porec
Posted: Sat June 7, 2008 08:14 PM UTC
Hello

Will be arriving at Pula airport about 9.00pm in the evening. Are there taxis available and could anyone tell me approximately how much this might be. Alternatively, how often and how late do the buses run from Pula to Porec.
Many thanks

Porec Bus schedule from Porec to Rovinj
Posted: Tue May 27, 2008 06:32 PM UTC
Will be arriving in Porec on a ferry from Venice on a Saturday night in June

Was wondering if anyone knows the bus schedule from Porec to Rovinj as we will be arriving at approx 19:30.

How long would it take me to go through "customs" once arriving in Porec

How far is the ferry port to the bus station?

Could I get a taxi from Porec to Rovinj? Approx cost?

Thanks for your help!

Pula Bike hire
Posted: Wed May 14, 2008 10:14 AM UTC
Hi, I’m flying in to Pula for one week – late May. I’m planning to hire a mountainbike and travel around for my week – a night here a night there – that sort of thing. Most hire centres appear to be Hotels (which I may not be staying at). My question.
Can I hire a mountain bike from (from an independent agent) Palu – for the week?
Or alternatively, does anyone have experience of non residential bike hire from a local resort. Appreciate any advice on this or on my general itinerary. Beach, booze and windsurfing. Cheers

Istria From Porec to Plitvice Lakes National Park
Posted: Mon May 12, 2008 12:08 PM UTC
What is the easiest way to get from Porec to Plitvice Lakes National Park in august? We would like to use the public transport and not rent a car. Is there a coach connection between Porec and Plitvice Lakes National Park and for how lond does the journey take and how much does it cost? Or does some local travel agency make trips to Plitvice from Porec?

Rovinj Rovinj to Dubrovnik
Posted: Wed May 7, 2008 08:21 AM UTC
Hi,

Has anyone driven this stretch between Rovinj and Dubrovnik? How are the roads and how long does it take to get there? We were figuring 6 hours might do it but some have warned that it takes at least 8 hours.

Appreciate any input!

Rovinj Hotels near the Ferry Terminal
Posted: Wed April 30, 2008 03:08 AM UTC
We will be taking the Ferry from Venice to Rovinj but it will not get in until around 10pm. We won't have a car (renting one the next day) and am looking for hotels that are near the Ferry since it will be late and dark. I am not looking for anything fancy, just some place to spend the night before heading out the next day. Most of the hotels I have found are either too far away or are overpriced.

I am guessing that there will be plenty of taxis at the terminal if I have to travel further away. But, I rather find a place within walking distance if possible. Thanks Paul

Opatija Transportation from Sicily to Opatija
Posted: Sun April 6, 2008 01:40 PM UTC
Hello. I am seeking recommendations on how to travel from Sicily to Opatija in April. I understand there is a ferry from Bari (Italy) to Rijeka. Would that be a fun and efficient choice, assuming I could get to Bari with bus or train or something? Perhaps train is better and less disruptive/more direct? Thank you.

Pula Pula or Split to Venice
Posted: Tue March 18, 2008 04:05 AM UTC
Hello,
My partner and I are travelling to Split and arrive there on the 12th of July via a cruise. We disembark the boat there and would then like to travel to Venice.
Can anyone tell me what the best way to travel to Venice would be from Split?
The train is an option but from what I can tell it will be a 16hr overnight trip.
Could I catch a ferry from Split to Venice or do I have to go via Pula?
How would I travel from Split to Pula and how long would this take?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Many Thanks,
Jo

Rovinj Ferries from Venice to Rovinj in May?
Posted: Sat January 19, 2008 04:57 AM UTC
Hi all, I am trying to investigate my travel options from Venice to Rovinj - and then down to Split/Trojir/Dubrovnik. It doesn't seem that the ferries run in May, which seems quite odd. I get messages that say there are no travel itineraries for that date, do you think that it is too far out (since it is Jan 18) or are there times when they don't run? No need to book yet, but want to make sure we can get there by Ferry. Any ideas? Anyone taken the train down the Dalmatian Coast?? I have been before, but only by boat. Thanks!

Pula Transport from Pula airport into Pula town itself & Currency
Posted: Fri October 5, 2007 03:34 PM UTC
Does anybody know the fastest and cheapest way to get into Pula itself from the airport, more particularly the Punta Verudela Resort? Is there a shuttle bus or some kind of public transport? Also, do the majority of people accept euros or is it worth getting Croatian currency! I go next week (Oct 2008).
Thanks for any help

Istria Traveling in Istria - Car or Bike?
Posted: Wed September 19, 2007 04:13 PM UTC
Hi!

I will be in Croatia for 10 days mid-Oct., leaving out of Pula. I'm hoping to spend my last 2-3 days in Istria (arriving Saturday or Sunday, leaving Tuesday mid-day). I've read in many places that renting a car is the best way to wander around the region, but I am wondering how possible it would be to do by bicycle.

Do I need an International Driving Permit to rent a car in Croatia? (I'm from the US.)

Is it possible to bike instead, and how much ground could I cover in 2-3 days, as a casual rider? Or are the hill towns too steep to make it worthwhile? If by bike, where would be the best route or starting point?

I'm hoping to make it to Livade, Groznjan, Motovun, Rovinj, and Pula.

I have forgotten the name of a hilltop village in Istria that I visited in May 2007. It is near Groznjan. I have been told that it might be Motovun, but I am doubtful. Please see pics at http://www.softadventure.net/croatia%20id.htm. Many thanks.

Pula Where to stay in Istria
Posted: Mon August 20, 2007 03:47 PM UTC
Hello, heading to Istria soon but have not finalized plans yet. Will have 4-5 nights the last of which will be in Pula, but am undecided as to where is best to stay the rest of the time (Pula, Rovinj, Porec, etc)? Def want to explore a bit but will not have a car there so will need to take buses.

Also, a little confused about buses from Rijeka to Pula or Rovinj - anyone know how late they run? I will arrive at 5PM and not sure if I need to stay in Rijeka area for the 1st night.

Thanks in advance.
