We will rent a car from Zagrep and we will go down to Dubrovnik by car. I have four questions :
1/Do I have time to visit İstria region ?
2/What are the cities that I shouldn't miss for my first trip in Croatia ?
3/Which are the cities or island that I have to spend more than one day ?
4/Can I take my car to the islands like Korcula and Hvar ?
Finally I ask to people who know croatia well if you were for the first time in Croatia how you would orgonize your 8 days trip from Zagreb to Dubrovnik ?
I didin't reserve any hotel my trip is it a problem can I find places and better prices by walking in the places ?
hello,
i will be in buzet for 2 nights and the day between them in mid september 2009.

Need some price info and if anyone have any info on how to get to the bus station in Rejejka from the train station? Have to leave at the crack of dawn at 06.05 departing Budapest Keleti on the Venice train to Zagreb, then onwards by train to Rijeka and then bus to Pula. Traveling with my 10 year old daughter who will have her birthday the same day we are traveling so want the trip to be as pleasant as possible.I already purchased the rtrn train tickets Bpest-Rijeka but need to know the bus price from Rijeka to Pula. I know the bus is quicker from Zagreb but my daughter gets travel sick on long bus trips. So any info also on the Zagreb to Rijeka by train trip much appreciated ...
Hi, I have a group of 14 people and we are trying to get from Triest, Italy to Porec, Croatia and we were wondering if anyone had any advice for us? Is there any specific bus we take? And if so would you happen to know the cost? Thank you.
We are about to book a week in Rovinj in early September.
Can anyone recommend good local restaurants - Our tastes are wide and we like to sample the local food when abroad.
Any general advice about Rovinj would also be helpful as we have not been to Rovinj before but we have been to other parts of Croatia - Cavtat and Korcula.
Thanks,
Keith
Me and my husband are traveling from Vrpolje, which is close to Split to Opatija Milenji Agave hotel to be exact. Does anyone know how long the drive will be with car from Vrpolje (Split) to Opatija?
in a couple of week sI am taking my family with three kids to Pula to see a freind and then we have arranged to get a car down to Split in a day in order to get on a boat and do some islands. Does anyone know the best and cheapest way of going back from Split (or possibly Zadar) to Pula bearing in mind we have three kids with us aged 10,11 and 15. The car hire is much more expensive going up and I've already booked it coming down! We have two days to get there, leaving either on a Sunday pm or travelling on the Monday. I believe there might be a ferry but does anyone know what kind of cost is involved? Thanks
I am organizing a trip for a group of people from Russia next summer. I want to know if it possible to travel to Venice for the day for Russian citizens if they do not have a Visa to Italy. Can a visa for the day be purchased or does this need to be arranged with local embassies in Russia before our trip. Please advise. Thanks.
I'm going to Pula next August, and the question, is: If I don't find accommodation in the historic centre, which area do you recommend me? Obvioulsy, easy to get to the centre either in my car or with public transportation. And, any recommendations regarding hotel/hostel?
I'd like to visit Plitvice Lakes National Park (party of 3) but who offers excursions from Rovinj?
Also is it worth the long journey or are there lesser comparable attractions closer to Rovinj?
What are costs like - i.e. could I get a private car trip and guide - I could consider car hire but it's 3 or 4 hours drive each way. Might I find an enterprising local who'd take us for maybe USD150?
Does anyone have information about organised day trip excusions from Pula? A trip to Venice seems possible, but I would also like info about a day in Trieste, cruise around the islands or to one of the national parks. I appreciate that there is only so much that can be done on a day trip and I can see little point in spending hours on a tour bus and only a little time at a destination.
Any mini-reviews from people who have done such things would be very welcome.
Thanks
John
Dear all
Could anyone help me with following question:
akz.hr shows that there is a bus from Pula to Belgrade every day operated by Lasta, but the Lasta website says there is only a busconnection on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Who know what is correct?
Otherwise will the best alternative be via Zagreb?
Hi. we are going to pula and surrounding area middle of september 2009. we are self catering for 5 nights and B.B for 7 nights . first of all is the weather warm? and what sort of prices do we pay for a meal in the evening, it being main course only and any ideas of the price of a cup of coffee and a pint of beer. This will then give me some of an idea of what to budget for,we are not fussy people but we do like nice surroundings and more or less home cooking type food. If anyone has any other infomation it will be much appreciated.

We will be on a cruise in May stopping in Pula for the day (May 13). Our ship will anchor and we will come into the port by tender. How far is it to the Bus Station to get a bus to Rovinj? Is it walking distance? How often do Buses go between Pula & Rovinj and what is the approximate fare?
Hello,
I was wondering if someone could advise whether there are bus or train services to Pula from Zagreb on a Sunday? I have heard it is better to take the bus. If travel on a Sunday is possible, how often do the buses travel? Is there a timetable I can view?
Thank you.
My husband and I are thinking on booking a holiday to porec in early june and would like to know what temperature is average for this time of year please?
I have a detailed map of Istra (1/110,000) that shows a custom office on the border between Slovenia and Croatia on the main roads. They do not show any on small roads. Does that mean that these road are not open for border crossing ? (or may be only for locals?) I am especially interested in the road from Motovun, Livade, Sv Lucija (Croatia) to Gradin, Trebeše, Gracišce (Slovenia). Sorry, I cannot get properly the C with diacritic for Gracišce!
My husband and I are going to Porec for 10 days beginning of Sept. and wondered if anyone has been there at this time and what the weather generally is like. Do we need warm clothing or is it mixed ? We never get it right wherever we go, so would like to hear from anyone who has also visited at this time of the year to give us a rough idea.
Also we like to get around by local transport, so are the buses ad trains quite good for seeing the country and do they travel far afield ? Thanks to anyone who may have the answers.
Hi, had found a really nice apartment but it's full for when we want to go (September). Now need to find another one quick. I've read all the advice on the site, just wondering if anyone has a personal recommendation really.
Want somewhere close to the beach - preferably near Pula although not for sure. Would also really like a balcony with a sea view, and it needs to be self catered. Alternatively if I'm dreaming any other recommendations would be good as well!
I am travelling to Pula at the beginning of August by myself. Is it easy at this time to find reasonable private accommodation - not hostels, I snore to loud to be in a dorm.
Also, where are the best beaches to relax with decent restaurants nearby.
Not looking for serious night life - I'm a bit past that.
Does anyone know is there is bus service on Saturdays, (Oct 11) from Trieste to Rovanj, Pula or Porec? I have been to the bus schedule for Trieste but as I read it, there is no bus on Saturday going to Istria area except in "summer". No dates given as to what "summer" means.

we will be arriving in Porec from Venice and would like to know where to rent a car to drive coast to Dubrovnik? Any good deals and would like one way, leaving car in Dubrovnik.
My travel plans just changed. And now I find that I'd like to spend 6 days in Istria Peninsula. I won't be renting a car and need to get from Zagreb to Istria. Does anyone have suggestions as to what cities/villages I should visit in Istria using a bus as transport? And then after Istria, which village will be the easier so I can get to Zadar? (I heard there is a ferry there from somewhere in Istria but not sure.) many thanks
Will be arriving at Pula airport about 9.00pm in the evening. Are there taxis available and could anyone tell me approximately how much this might be. Alternatively, how often and how late do the buses run from Pula to Porec.
Many thanks
