Visa? Posted: Wed November 7, 2007 03:56 PM UTC
Is it possible to get into Southern Sudan without a visa? As of now, I don't have one and I am going in December. Why is it that a passport not be enough? I'll only be there for two weeks. Are there people who do it, legally or no, without visas?

Christmas Visit Posted: Mon October 22, 2007 05:56 PM UTC
Hello Everyone,
I am planning a trip to the south of Sudan over the Christmas Vacations. I will be flying into Entebbe then flying on to Moyo.
I have been slightly concerned by the UK Foreign Office and US State Department warnings that certain parts of Sudan are still unsafe for travel. Does anyone know what the situation really is in this area of Sudan? It would be really helpful if anyone has any information to share.
Many thanks
Chris

Suggested Sudan itinerary Posted: Wed October 17, 2007 09:33 AM UTC
Hi there, I am considering a Sudan trip next year (the northern part). I guess I will have roughly a week to ten days time, and my interest is mainly to get an impression of Khartoum, Omdurman, and the ruins of Meroe. I have been checking other VT pages on Sudan but an itinerary recommendation would be very appreciated !

fitness possibilities Posted: Sun September 23, 2007 08:25 AM UTC
Hi All,
My husband and I are moving to Khartoum in a few months. We are both fairly active and are looking for ways to get exercise while we are living in Khartoum. Are there any gyms with modern equipment and if so what are the prices like? Are they open to men and women at the same time? What about sports teams or running locations?
Thanks!

hi! i'm a myanmar passport holder, teaching in Karachi and im planing on comming to Sudan for a visit. Thing is, the Sudan consulate here in Islamabad is quite unhelpful, the man says they do not issue tourist visas, i need a reference from sudan to go to the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs or something to give my name and passport number, then i can get my visa through the consulate here. what a tedious process! i dont really understand it either, can anyone elaborate? thank you!

Driving a Mercedes Bus (not 4x4) to Sudan Posted: Wed May 16, 2007 11:16 AM UTC
Hello,
January next year (2008) we will be driving a Mercedes 508 bus to and through Sudan. Does anybody have any tips? More specific:
- will the ferry (ponton) to Wadi Halfa take us, and more important can we exit the ferry in a normal way there?
- is the Hala'ib Triangle open for tourists? This is driving along the coast...
- any information about ferries going from Saudi Arabia to Port Sudan?
Any help appreciated.

Travel in South Sudan Posted: Wed October 11, 2006 05:24 AM UTC
Hi,
I'd like to travel to Kajo-Keje in February next year but I saw that the US and UK embassies suggest it is too dangerous. I'm meeting a Southern Sudanese friend there -- how was Juba when you were there in September?
Also do you think it would be best to travel via Kampala (and by road or air?) or from Khartoum or Nairobi?
thanks!

Where can I exchange dollars to Sudanese Dinars in Los Angeles, CA Posted: Mon October 9, 2006 07:23 PM UTC
Any suggestions on how many Dinars I should show up with prior to arrival. I've perused the other replies and it seems wise to bring US dollars and convert after arrival. I would just think that some Dinars are necessary immediately.
