Prague Travel in Prague
Posted: Sun August 16, 2009 10:51 PM UTC
I'm in Prague for 3 days next week. I want to see as many sights as poss. I'm staying in the Old Town. Can I see the sights on foot or should I get a travel pass? Is the 3 day travel pass a good idea? Will it get me from the airport into town? Thanks for any advice!

Prague need help
Posted: Mon August 10, 2009 12:27 PM UTC
hi, me and my wife are planning a backpacking trip next month, one of our destination is prague. we plan to reach prague from munich. can some body help me to know which is the cheapest way to reach barcelona from prague, or should i go to munich to fly to prague. here in india im not able to find the right travel agent who can book this sector.
also i find the rates of airfare from munich or prague to barcelona is (215euros one way for 2 pax) almost half the price of the airfare im paying for a trip from india.
is it that expensive? or is there another cheaper option.

Prague From Prague to Dresten and Karlovy Vary (budget ways)
Posted: Tue August 4, 2009 12:37 PM UTC
Dear friends,

I hope to be in Prague in October.
I checked D-Bahn Site, but the prices seem quite expensive for me.

Please give me hints about cheap ways for the following 2 routes:
1) Prague-Dresden-Prague
2) Prague-Karlovy Vary-Prague

I am looking forward to hear from you.

Thank you.

Best regards

Prague city break to prague
Posted: Wed July 29, 2009 04:03 PM UTC
Am planning a 3 night city break to Prague in August. However, I'm a bit worried about it being infamous for stag do's/groups of drunken English men! IS this still the case or could we enjoy dinner and drinks out in the evenings?
Thanks for any advice : )

I'll be visiting Prague in late August and am wondering what section of the city I seek accommodation. I'm interested in shopping, night life, restaurants, etc. Perhaps a gay bar (or two). Would you recommend Old Town?

Prague How much cash should I bring?
Posted: Thu July 23, 2009 09:56 PM UTC
I like to get a little bit of foreign currency at home before I go anywhere, incase I need something right when I arrive and/or am not able to get to an ATM right away. What's a good amount of cash to bring? And, what is ATM availability like in Prague? If there aren't that many, then I'll have to bring more cash. I need to order it form my bank right away. Thanks.

Prague okay, so i thought i didn't have any questions about the berlin-prague train!
Posted: Thu July 23, 2009 04:49 PM UTC
tried to use the ww.bahn.de site, and it would not show me fares, saying that they were not available for me to view. could this be because my current location is the us? i can always use www.raileurope.com, which is usa based website, but their prices are high, high, high! my plan is to buy tickets to prague as soon as i arrive in berlin...so i can get at least the 3 day advance purchase. does anyone know, is the pricing structure of the trains similar to that of the airlines? are the discounted seats capacity controlled or can you get a 3-day advance purchase even if there are only a few seats on the plane? in other words, does the train company limit the amount of seats that are sold with a discount? thanks for any help, susan

Posted: Thu July 23, 2009 02:38 PM UTC
hello, leaving in 2 days for berlin (and thanks to all who answered all the forum questions regarding berlin-prague train travel, so that's one question i don't need to ask), anyway leaving for berlin, three nites there to recuperate (coming from usa), then on to prague for 4 nites. want to get my hotel/hostel squared away before departure. FINALLY, here's my question. looking at cloister or charles hotel near charles bridge OR a couple of different choices on wendelas (sorry about the spelling) square. which area would be a better choice for a first-timer to berlin? able to find pretty good last-minute rates, but need to book quickly! thanks, susan

Prague Czech Extra League hockey
Posted: Sun July 19, 2009 05:44 PM UTC
I will be in Prague from Sept. 2-7 and I was hoping to catch some Czech League hockey action. I think it may be too early for the season, but I thought there may be some pre-season games or a pre-season tournament. Can anyone tell me if there is anything like that going on during those dates? The league's website is hard to navigate in English and I'm not sure if they would post the pre-season dates anyway.
Thanks!

Has anyone taken a trip to Konopiste Castle? Just wanted to know how complicated/involved it was to get there--don't want to tax brain cells unnecesarily!!! It seems like Karlstejn, on the other hand, is pretty easy to get to for a day trip. Thanks.

Prague ATM exchange rate
Posted: Tue July 14, 2009 03:52 PM UTC
I would like to use ATM machine during my trip to Czech, Hungary and Romania. I have asked the card issue bank about the charge. It's minimal. But I am worrying about the exchange rate. The card issue bank told me that the exchange rate is set by the ATM machine bank. I have the following questions:-

Are the exchange rates of the ATM machines resonable for the captioned countries.

Besides that, are there any other charges?

Is it the same rate as I take Euro to the bank and change it to local currency?

Thanks for your help! Thanks again for your help!

Prague Money exchange
Posted: Tue July 14, 2009 03:49 AM UTC
Hi, I will visit prague in the coming Saturday. Once I arrived at the Prague airport (I think it will be Terminal 2, since I will change my flight in Paris) I need to change some local currency. I found that there are some exchange offices and only 1 bank there. Should I go to the bank to do that in order to have a low commission or a better rate? What about in town, should I exchange my money in banks? Are they open on Saturdays? Thanks a lot for your help!
