Buenos Aires Remis Taxi from Ezeiza to city and Tourist Tax
Posted: Fri November 6, 2009 02:13 PM UTC
Is it just me ? or has the price of a Remis to the city gone up, drastically, in price ?

I will be arriving in B.A. on 13th February and am looking for a Remis to the city and back again on 20th.
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced Taxi firm or individual who can do these trips without "ripping me off" ?

Also, the Argentine Govt. were talking, some time ago, about introducing a reciprical Entry Tax for citizens of those countries who impose it on Argentines - I think from memory that they were talking around US$130 !!
Does anyone know where this proposal is currenly at ( if anywhere? )

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give !!

Mendoza I will travel to Mendoza coming from Santiago, for New Year´s Eve, any suggestions?
Posted: Fri November 6, 2009 01:50 AM UTC
I would like to know about 3 star hotels in Mendoza and also in Santiago, if possible. In Santiago, I would like to stay in Providencia neighborhood. In Mendoza, in a walking distance from everywhere in town. Besides, I need to know which are the best vineyeards and if a reservation is needed for lunch.
Also about companies that take tourists to vineyards.
Thanks in advance.

Brazil Amazon Honeymoon
Posted: Thu November 5, 2009 11:43 AM UTC
Looking for suggestions on how to spend our honeymoon in the amazon. We will probably fly in and out of Manaus, with time not really being an issue. We would like to keep costs reasonable though!
We are thinking of having a few days in a lodge to start with, somewher private and comfortable, and then be a bit more aventurous. Any suggestions on boat trips, accomodations, tours (my partner is particularly interesting in seeing Indians...), would be much appreciated :)
We're in our 20s, and fit - although i'm not too interesting in challenging sweaty hikes for days on end ill be honest! This will in March 2010.
thanks

Argentina Agua Negra Pass - open in November?
Posted: Thu November 5, 2009 11:18 AM UTC
I am planning on driving Mendoza - Valparaiso Chile, then north and up across the Chile-Argentina Agua Negra pass.... I've seen many photos of the pass and it doesn't look that bad. My wife and I have driven some pretty nutty stuff before so we're not novices at crazy passes and roads..

I was hoping someone might have some insight into this pass around 11/15/09 or so..

Thanks!

Chris.

Buenos Aires Boca Juniors

Hi I am in need of your fantastic help!

I will be in BA for 1 week in April and have been looking into gong to a Football match when there. It is my parner 30th bday and I know how much he would love this as a surprise.
Please, please please can you advise me whether there are any matches in April and if so how can I get tickets? Can I pre book now or will I have to buy nearer the time.
I have been on several 'whats on' websites that state boca play river plate in april.
This would be fabulous and I would love to get tickets. no matter what the price!
Unfortunately I don't speak the best spanish!, so cannot go on baca juniors websites and find out more.
Also will it be the new season then and maybe the exact date is not known? or does this match happen at the same time every year?
Please help in anyway.

Thanks

San Pedro de Atacama How to come back to San Pedro from Uyuni quickly after the 3 days salar tour?
Posted: Wed November 4, 2009 03:04 PM UTC
Hi,
My girl friend and I will be in Santiago mid December and would like to do the 3days/2nights Salar de Uyuni tour starting from Uyuni and ending in San Pedro.

The problem is that we only have 5 days starting from / coming back to Santiago (we have to be back in Santiago for a wedding). Is it feasible?
The main question is how to get to the start of the tour in Uyuni quickly enough from Santiago. Our current best guess is to fly to Calama and find a 1 day transport to Uyuni from there but I can’t see any (the only transport I found so far is the 3 days San pedro to Uyuni tour…). Any suggestion?

Alternatively we could start the tour from San Pedro but then would have to find a quick (1 day max) and reliable transport to come back from Uyuni to San Pedro. Suggestions most welcome here again.

Also do we have to book these tours in advance in that period (mid december) to make sure we get one when we arrive (we would like to join a 6 people tour… private tours are just too expensive)… given our time constraint, we can’t really wait for a few days...

Thanks a lot for your help

Hi,

I'm traveling to Puerto Iguazu in Feb. I fly into the airport mid morning, will see the Argentine side on my first day and will be staying there overnight. The following day I would like to see the Brazilian side before getting an overnight bus to Sao Paulo... can anyone tell me how frequent the buses are from Foz do Iaguzu to Sao Paulo and how much they cost. Also if I go from my hostel to the brazilian side where can I store my luggage while I explore the falls?

Thanks

Oi!

I'm planning a trip for 3-4 weeks to Brazil.
I will spend New Year probably in Rio, but I'm also very interested in nice nature sights. I won't go north this time, so the Amazon I'll do another time (Brazil is way too big to do in 1 time). Can anyone tell me where I can find really amazing sights and which stand out & take your breath away?
I've already been to Iguazu.

Cheers!

Argentina From Salta to Iguazu
Posted: Sun November 1, 2009 01:05 PM UTC
Hi

I'm planning a trip to Argentina in march 2010.
I'm wondering how to get from Salta til Iguazu? I want to travel by bus.
I have searched on www.andesmar.com, but I can't find any connection.

I know it's a very long bus-trip. Where would you suggest that I should stop on this way?

São Paulo Flying or Busing in to Curitiba?
Posted: Sun November 1, 2009 05:20 AM UTC
Hey everyone thanks in advance for your advice.

I am relocating to Curitiba for a short term job posting and will first land in GRU. Do you guys advise me to take a plane, or take a bus to Curitiba? I am not sure the city of GRU has buses that will take me straight there.

The only reason I would consider the bus is the luggage allowance. I know the trip to get to Tiete and then busing it Curitiba can be considerably long. I am not sure about prices though- anyone has an idea?

Finally, would you recommend flying Web Jet? I saw that they have cheap prices to fly from GRU to CWB, only restriction is the 23kg luggage allowance. My flight will land in GRU at around 11:30am, and the next flight to fly to Curitiba is at 15:30. would that be enough time to grab my luggages, etc?

Many thanks for your help.

Brazil Safety around New Year
Posted: Fri October 30, 2009 05:14 PM UTC
Hi,
I'm planning a 3-4 week trip to Brazil from 26 December.
People are talking about the lack of safety now, especially in the big cities (Rio, Sao Paolo, Salvador etc).
I'm used to travelling in Latin America but I'm still kinda worried. People from a travel agency even tried to discourage me from going to Rio.
Are people exagerating or is it all ok if you just keep your wits about? (no fancy clothes or watches, no walking alone in the night, staying out of favelas etc). Should I avoid some cities or not?

Cartagena ESL language tour to Nueva Lengua in Cartagena -any experience?
Posted: Fri October 30, 2009 10:15 AM UTC
My daughter is thinking of spending some weeks in Cartagena, improving her Spanish. She found this program:

http://www.esl-languages.com/en/adults/learn/spanish/cartagena/colombia/index.htm

It looks pretty good, but it's easy to look good on the web. Does anyone have any experience with ESL courses? Maybe even first-hand experience with the school in Cartagena?
