Rwanda Rwanda / Tanzania border crossing warning:
Posted: Fri March 24, 2006 01:25 PM UTC
Please be aware that the road from the Rwanda border toward Mwanza, Tanzania, is potentialy extreamly dangerous. Bandits are active in the area, most recently (around 6 days ago)about 15km east of Ngara. If you are planning to cross between the two countries I would suggest perhaps returning north and taking the ferry from Bukoba (Uganda)to Mwanza or travelling through Burundi, though check the security before crossing the border there. It was fine up to a few days ago at least. These options may incure further visa fees unfortunately.
Travel safe.

Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Uganda or Rwanda
Posted: Tue February 7, 2006 05:01 PM UTC
Hello,

Do you know where is best for gorilla trekking? I'm trying to decide between Bwindi in Uganda or volcanoes national park in Rwanda.

Can anyone help me decide please?

My trip is planned for the end of April.

Thanks,

Jim

p.s. I've also posted the same question in the Ugandan forum.

Hi,
We are going on a Gorilla trek, leaving UK on 26 Dec. Can anyone let me know what the weather is expected to be like? What are the best clothes to take, particularly for the trek itself. What is the best currency to take there?
cheers

I am suppose to go to Rwanda soon and teach at a private school there. HIV and AIDS education. Does anyone know the current status of this type of education in their school system? For example, how much AIDS education is currently being taught. What is a typical Rwandan curriculum like. etc.?
