Benin City The Excalibur Hotel
Posted: Fri August 8, 2008 03:43 AM UTC
The Excalibur sounds like a very nice Hotel and I was just wondering if you would mind giving me some more Information on it. I was thinking of visiting there but do you know if this hotel takes credit cards at all? And could I use my credit cards there at all in that town? Also if you happen to know the phone number to the Hotel I would appreciate it very much. Any help you could give would really help me out. Thank You.

Owerri Aba Owerri/Calabar/ Aba Travel Information
Posted: Tue August 5, 2008 02:56 PM UTC
I might be making my second trip to Nigeria in October. My friend and I from Owerri might visit Calabar for a week or so.

Can anyone recommend a hotel in Calabar with AC for $50.00 per night with all charges?

My last time in Owerri we stayed at the East Gate Hotel for $50.00 per night. Is there another nice hotel in that price range in Owerri?

Can anyone recommend a nice bus for the ride to Calabar from Owerri and how much it would cost. The only bus company I know is ABCTransport. How long does it take to get from Owerri to Calabar?

Does anyone know how much it would cost to fly round trip from Owerri to Calabar and which airline company to use? Virgin Nigeria? Arik Air?

Any recommendations for restaurants in Calabar or things to do for a first time tourist?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

2. If we go there, we gonna stay in Victoria Island, heard that is the safest place in Lagos, but how safe is that? Can i go shopping alone in the Mall?
3. Is the crime very bad there?
4. Will that be easy if i wanna travel around Nigeria out of Lagos?

Lagos Internet cafe
Posted: Fri May 23, 2008 12:06 AM UTC
Hi, everyone. I have been asked to help setup a internet cafe in Lagos. The person involved will pay for my return flight. I will pay for my own accomandation. Help setup the internet cafe. Then fly home again. I would like to help but am unsure what to do. Is it safe in lagos. What are the people like ? I will help train local people to run the internet and use windows operating systems. I only have four days. What I would really like to know is ? If I wanted to leave early, for whatever reason, can I book a flight home myself. How much do I have to pay in local taxes to leave the country. Many thanks, in advance. HD

Nigeria unique zoo I visited at Jos Plateau in 1970

Does the zoo I visited in 1970, on the Jos Plateau, where the animals ran free and the visitors were able to walk through while in a "cage"-like structure which snaked through the park still exist? At the time,I was training teachers in Physical Education at A.T.C.Zaria,( part of the AmaduBello University faculty of Education for the Canadian International Development Agency I am including a story about my familie's experiences while at the zoo,in a book I am writing, and I am curious whether it still exists. I would be pleased to get any reply. Thank you,Sincerely,Lionel Spector B.Ed.P.Ed.,M.P.E.

Nigeria Seeking information about The Hotel Royal Damgrete
Posted: Thu May 3, 2007 08:48 PM UTC
Has anyone heard of the Hotel Royal Damgrete? I have been offered a position there. The same position in the USA does not pay as much as the Nigerian counterpart is offering, however the amount is not very much different.

I have spent hours on the internet searching for information about the Hotel, and have come up with nothing. Following is a copied and pasted section of the offer of employment.

Nigeria BTA
Posted: Tue April 24, 2007 12:52 PM UTC
I have a friend that is trying to get to the US. She has never left Nigeria. During her interviews, she was told she needs 2000usd for BTA ( Basic Travellers Assurance ) in case she is not met at the airport. She also said she will get this back in the form of a travellers check upon her arrival. Is this true or am I being scammed. Please advise asap.

Hi,
I have an opportunity to work for two years in Abuja. I can take my wife and kids, but she's worried it isn't safe. Is the risk worth the opportunity? I really want to go, but I want to relieve her fears if possible.
thank you all.
