Budget Accomodation Posted: Thu March 19, 2009 10:05 PM UTC
Hi,
Any recommendations for budget accommodation in Dubrovnik preferably close to the old town.
Is it easy to find accommodation on arrival or am I better off booking in advance?
THanks

Leather bags market place Dubrovnik Posted: Sat March 14, 2009 07:07 PM UTC
A friend went on a cruise a few years ago that included Dubrovnik as a port of call. She brought back two inexpensive leather tote bags with designer logos from a marketplace located to the cruise lines. Since I'm preparing to take the same cruise could you provide me with information where this marketplace is located?
Thank you very much.

Dubrovnik Hotel recommendation Posted: Mon January 5, 2009 12:53 AM UTC
Greetings to all. I am a new member trying this place out for the first time. It seems to have a great deal of information.
I will be traveling to Dubrovnik later this year and would like to find a hotel near the center of town that is not very expensive. I do not need fancy services and gilt edged goodies. Just a clean room with a the usual European small bath.
Any recommendations will be appreci

Dubrovnik to Plitvice by bus Posted: Wed November 19, 2008 02:50 PM UTC
Hi,
Could anyone give me some suggestion regarding making it to Plitvice in one day?
I checked the web and it says I have to catch the 6:30 AK bus to Split, then from Split catch the 12:00 AK bus to Plitvice, to arrive in Plitvice at 17:48.
This means I have to catch the bus from Pile Gate to the Dubrovnik bus station at a godly hour of 6:00am.
I don't ming arriving in Plitvice before 9pm, I think the hotel (Mukinja) in Plitvice is still open then.
Are there any other bus companies that you could reveal to me ?

Islands and Bus Questions Posted: Tue August 26, 2008 11:33 AM UTC
Can anyone please assist with these questions:
What's the earliest time in the morning that a boat trip leaves for Lokrum Island from the Old Harbour? And what time to they return to Dubrovnik?
Are there any boat trips you can recommend that go to all three Elafiti Islands from the Old Harbour? If so, what time do they depart in the morning and return and do they stay at the Islands for a long(ish) time?
Mljet Island and National Park: what's the best boat trip to get there and do they leave from Gruz harbour or the Old Harbour or both?
How far is it to walk to Gruz harbour from the Old Town (ie. how long does it take)? And is there a large supermarket called Konzum in Gruz harbour?
Lastly, where do the Airport buses depart from in Dubrovnik? How often do they run from there and how long does it take to get to the Airport?
Thanks for any help or information!

Dubrovnik to Mostar and Montenegro in the wintertime? Posted: Fri August 15, 2008 05:35 PM UTC
Hello there,
I'll be visiting Dubrovnik in early January (not the best time, I know!) and wondered if there's an easy way to visit Mostar and Montenegro at that time. I checked the website of Atlas tours, but they stop taking people back and forth in the early Fall.
Thanks very much for your help.

Where to stay in Dubrovnik? Posted: Sun August 10, 2008 08:26 AM UTC
Pile, Ploce, Stari Grad, Gruz or Lapad?
Hi everybody,
Me and my friend is visiting Dubrovnik at the beginnig of September. We have limited time and we're going to stay for 2 days in Dubrovnik. (1 and half actually). So we would like to stay somewhere closer to the city and beaches. Which place would you recommend us to stay?
Also are those beaches free for everyone? Or do we have to pay for entering?
I've sent several emails for apartment owners that I could find from the internet. But only a few of them replied back. Don't they use the internet?
Thanks for any help,
Haluk

Bubrovnik - Bar Ferry Online / Telephone Booking? Posted: Fri August 1, 2008 02:25 PM UTC
Hello, I am trying to go from Dubrovnik to Bari next week. I called Jadrolinija, they told me I cannot book in advance, because I would have to pay 2 days in advance, which I cannot because i am in Budapest, and will only go to Croatia in the morning of the ferry trip. Is there any place online i can book a cabin on Marko Polo to Bari? Or, do you think there will be available cabins if I just show up around August 5 - 6?

Lovely Hotel (travelling with a toddler!) Posted: Tue July 22, 2008 07:57 PM UTC
Hi All,
I'm so excited to be planning my first Croatian trip, we're landing in Zagreb and driving all the way down to Dubrovnik with loads of little stops along the way.
Can you recommend a hotel in the Dubrovnik area which is reasonably/cheaply priced that is great value for money, and also suitable for toddlers? We'll probably need a slightly larger room, but still want to be close to the sites and sounds of the area?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards,
Nicola

Dubrovnik to Split? Posted: Sun July 13, 2008 07:09 PM UTC
Which public transport would you recommend to get from Split to dubrovnik (or vice versa)? How long will this journey take and what about the price?
Or do you think that renting a car is the best way to get from Split to Dubrovnik?

used baby stuff Posted: Sun June 29, 2008 07:24 AM UTC
I'm planning a trip to Dubrovnik with two small children and I'm wondering if there are any used baby stores in the area. I hate to buy new at Turbo Limac since I'll only be using the stuff for three weeks before giving it away before we head for home. I just need a stroller, portable crib (pack and play) and some car seats.
Any leads would be appreciated.

Roadtrip to Dubrovnic Posted: Sat June 28, 2008 10:53 AM UTC
Hello everybody,
We are travelling by car from Thessaloniki (Greece) to Dubrovnic. We have two possible ways of going there. 1) Via FYROM, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia,Croatia and 2) Via Albania. Unfortunately some friends told us that this route is dangerous in both ways. Is that true? What do we have to be carefull of? Which is the most recommended?
Thank you
Have a nice summer !!!!!!

A day in Dubrovnik Posted: Sat June 28, 2008 04:26 AM UTC
Hello all, our cruise will stop in Dubrovnik and we will have about 7-8 hours to do things. What is your reccomendation of things to do/see? What about tranportation from the pier. I am thinking once ther is all walking distances? One person in our party is in her 70's so we try not to have long walks if possible.
Thank you for your input.
