We are staying in Rovinj for a week from 30 July 2006 and then going to Cres on Sunday 6 august for another week. We want to get the ferry from Brestova to Cres on Sunday 6 August but have been told it will be very busy. Is this Sunday particularly busy - or is it just that it is high season? What time do members recommend we should be at the ferry and how long will it take to drive from Rovinj to Brestova (early morning)?

My previous two visits to Croatia were on package holidays. One to Porec and the other to Rovinj. I want to fly to Trieste by Ryanair (£26 each return!) and travel to Rovinj by bus. My questions;
Can I get a bus from the airport direct to Rovinj?
How long will the journey take?
The cost of the fare?
Times of buses?

Any adviced welcomed.

Am going to Rovinj in 10 days time.Is Decaffeinated coffee available in the cafes there and how do I say it in Croatian language? Also how to we request Indian tea with milk? Many thanks for any help anyone can give me.

I've seen some really helpful posings on the forum and thought I'd ask for some tips:
1- Someone mentioned a link for buses from Rovinj to Venice, but when I go to the link I can't get it to give me fare and time info. in English?
2- I've never been to Croatia before, I've chosen to stay in Rovinj as it looks beautiful, but was wondering where else to go?
3- Are there any nice beaches near Rovinj?
4- Any tips on where to find basic phrases I can learn to say Thank You etc
5 - As a female is there anything I need to be aware of?

I'm reading that the weather is quite cold in Rovinj at the moment. I am travelling there in June and wonder if by then it will be weather for shorts and sunbathing?

I am planning to travel to Rovinj from Trieste next week and will be arriving late afternoon on the 14:00 bus from Trieste.

I would like to camp at Camping Polari - could anyone advise me on the best way to get from the bus station to the camp site? I presume there are buses available? Or taxis? Or can it be easily walked (the description says 3km but I'm not usre I will necessarily be able to do that with my rucksack). Also are there any banks near the bus station? I will probably need to obtain money as I will be coming from Italy.

In addition coming back - is it possible to catch a bus to say Porec or another place and then on from there to Trieste? I dont fancy the very early morning bus or ferry!

We need to get from Rovinj to Venice. We cannot do it by ferry (it doesn't go on the needed day). So, does anyone know if there is a bus from Rovinj to Venice? And if there is where can we check the timetable and prices.

I am going to Rovinj Park hotel June 6th for 2 weeks. First time in Croatia. Normally take swimwear,shorts vests t shirts for day and skirts and tops for evening abroad at this time of year plus Shrug or cardigan in case of chill in evening. Is this adequate clothing for Rovinj in June.Am 61 my Partner 64 young romantics but soon feel a chill in air.All tips appreciated.Also average cost of Pint of Beer and Glass of Wine etc. Thankyou

I am flying into Trieste at the beginning of May and we would like to get to Rovinj and Croatia (not sure exactly where yet). We can't seem to find any ferry lines operating at this time from Trieste to Rovinj and not sure how to look for a bus (even though I have heard there is one?)

Any recommendations for the best way to get there? Any websites would be useful. we've also thought about hiring a car but this might be too expensive as we are under 25.

Thanks for the replies on the weather. We've booked for mid June. I want to get up to Venice while I'm there. Does anyone know if there's a boat of any discription that operates from Rovinj or surrounding area. Idea of cost & how long does the journey take, frequency of service etc.

Is it worth doing your own thing or is it better just to book a trip ?

Anyother tips on what to do where to go would be gratefully received.

I'm thinking of going to Rovinj on the 23rd of May. But not sure what the weather will be like. Has any one been at this time of year ? Does it rain ? What's the tempreture like at night time, i.e. do you have to wear a coat or are you still ok in shorts etc ?

does anyone have experiences to share about Hotel Vila Lili in Rovigno? I have booked a room there for four nights next July (can't wait) and could do with some tips on amenities, restaurant, things to do nearby, etc.

There's no travel tip on this hotel in VT, which is why I'm turning to the forum.

I'm completely overwelmed by the amount of rooms available in Rovinj, and as I espcially would like to stay in the old town (we're there over new years!) was wondering if anyone can recommend a good room/apartment they may have stayed in. Any other tips will be great!

I am hoping to rent a small apartment in Rovinj for 17 days from 15/06/04 - 01/07/04 and wondered if anyone knew of such availability or an agency that may help me.

I'm arriving to Rovinj, in Istria Croatia on August the seventh, (Thursday). We arrive by Ferry at 21:30 or later, so I would like to book a private room in advance.

We wont“have a car until two days later in Pula, so I'd like to rent a room close to the Ferry port.

Does anybody know of any accomodation close to the port? Everything I find in the INternet or in the Lonely planet guide is far from the town center.
