Which public transport would you recommend to get from Split to dubrovnik (or vice versa)? How long will this journey take and what about the price?

Or do you think that renting a car is the best way to get from Split to Dubrovnik?

Hi there. Me and my wife will be on a trip to croatia next September. We will visit Split, Dubrovnik and we will stay also in Brac island for 3 nights. We were thinking to spend a day in Hvar if possible.. Is there a ferry from Brac to Hvar? If so, how long does it take to get there?

2 - does anyone knows what is the cheapest way to rent a car in Splitdowntown? Is it cheaper to rent it locally "in loco", or rent it before going trough the internet? Eatherway, what is the cheapest place?

We arrive at Split airport at saturday 28. june, 18.00ish. Destination Hvar Grad. I've looked around and found that the last ferry to Hvar (Stari Grad) leaves at 20.30. Are there any other catamarans going to Hvar Grad any later than the one that leaves at 18.00? And if the ferry is the only solution, is it recomended/necesary to book tickets before we get there? Were not bringing a car.

Hi, we would like to make one day trip from Split to Hvar island. But as i looked to Jadrolinija ferry schedule, there are mainly ferries from Split in evening, and back to Split in morning. Is there any ferries in early morning from split, and what is the latest one from any town of Hvar island to Split. Thanks

i am traveling into Split from Budapest. In terms of cost and time it seems bus or train will be best. How early in advance do i need to buy/reserve a ticket.

And leaving croatia my immediate end destination is London, Gatwick airport. I'm looking for the cheapest way to get there. A direct flight out of Split seems to run Between $250-350 US, or i could ferry to Ancona and then fly from there to London for a cheaper fare total.

I need more info on ferry departure and arrival times, exact fare costs, and how to book/reserve a seat. I need to be in London to fly out the afternoon of July 12th.

any info or advice from anyone who's familiar with this route it would be much apperciated, or any other itinerary suggestions thatwould be helpful!

Hello, I am wondering if it will be easy to travel between these above places, are buses/trains readily available? Was hoping to leave from Kotor then into Bosnia (dont mind which city I do first) ending in split. Any ideas? thanks.

We wnnt to take car ferry to from Split to Hvar on Sept 1st Monday and then on Sept 4th go with car from Sucuraj to Drvenik. I cannot find it on the ferry schedule - is this possible and roughly what will cost be. i think I should book it ahead. Thanks so much

We have booked a Hotel in Split over 16th July to 19th July but they don't have any good parking. We have a rental car which we need to park somewhere. Has anyone got experience with this and have you any suggestions for secure parking?

I am traveling with my family, which included 3 sons (13, 12 & 9), my parents and my husband. We are taking a Royal Caribbean Cruise, but we would like to spend a day on the beach. I have noticed some people are recommending Bacvice beach, could you please tell me how far it is from the cruise ship port and if we could get to the beach easily on our own? Also, is this the best beach you would recommend for the 7 of us?

We are going on a small boat cruise in the Adriatic leaving from Split. We will arrive two days earlier, on the 26th June. Have been looking on the forum and have narrowed the choice down to Adriana Hotel - Riva by the sea which seems to be a very good position, or the Hotel Park which is more expensive.
Can anyone advise me? Perhaps you may have some suggestions? We do not wish to spend more than 120 Eu per night - unless it is extra special.

In early april we will take the ferry ancona italy to split. We are considering
2 lines to buy overnite cabins on.

Hi guys, could you please tell me when will be the Dicletian's night held in Split this summer. Last year we happened to be there and we had a blast! As all togas were sold out we just used our sheets from the hostel and being a proper Roman we were entitled to join the free Roman dinner in the palace. As far as I remember it was on the 27th of July.
Is the Diocletian's day/night is always on the same day every single year? Or do you have any information when it will be this summer, I will definitely want to go back and have some more!!!

Has anyone taken the overnight ferry from Split to Ancona on an 'air seat' ticket?

I can get an excellent price (20 euros) but won't have a birth. Is an air seat comfortable enough to cope with overnight travel or will the whole experience be grueling.

What would others advise?

How do I get to Trogar from Split? Bus or ferry? How often do they run, especially on a Sunday in April?

We will be in Split on Oct. 31 from 8 am to 6 pm, arriving by cruise ship. We have been advised to visit Medugorje, the religious site...if at all possible? Are there day trips available to do this? Are we going to encounter problems when we leave Crotia and cross over the border into Bosnia & Herzegovina? Also, if we are to remain in Split, is it possible to walk from the ship's pier to the historical parts of Split for a self-guided tour? [We would like to avoid the pricy ship sponsored tours}. Are there any "must sees" in Split?Thanks to all for any comments.

Can you plese advise me where to do my food shopping in Split. I am intrested in gourment food and would like to find some speciality shops that sells this kind of goods.

I'm planning to take the night ferry from split to ancona on august 15. I think i need to book in advance, but i can't find any such option on the jadrolinija website. I'll be arriving in Dubrovnik the 11th and in Split in the afternoon the 15th, so I have time to get the ticket after arriving in Croatia, but I really think I need a to book earlier than that to be sure to get a ticket on that date. Any advice on how i can book or buy a ticket from abroad?

I'd also be happy for advice on the cabins. What are the couchettes like? Are the cabins more comfortable/safer?

1. How to best get from the airport to the main ferry port as quickly as possible?
2. Do we have to book our ferry journey in advance?

3. We are travelling on from Bol to Hvar - is it easy to get a boat to Hvar town from Bol habour?
