Posted: Fri July 18, 2008 11:15 AM UTC
Can anyone tell me which street TGI Fridays in Rabat is located? I spotted it one time on my way home, and the taxi driver got a tounge twister using english language so, I did not bother to ask.

Please let me know the street name in french, or any landmarks near the resto bar that I could mention to taxi drivers for them to understnd me.

Cheers!

Rabat Studying Arabic in Morocco?
Posted: Tue March 25, 2008 01:50 AM UTC
I am a college student interested in learning Arabic. By summertime, I will have completed 2 semesters of Arabic. I am extremely interested in continuing my learning of Arabic over the summer, and I was wondering where the best place to learn the language would be. Some things that are of importance to me are: quality of instruction, location of the school, and activities outside of the school. Since I am going alone, I want to study somewhere where I won't feel secluded or outside of society. Also, scenery is of great importance. All things considered, where would you guys recommend studying Arabic? (I want to study for a period of about 2 months...I'm not sure if that changes anything). ( I know I posted this about a month ago in the Sousse and Damascus forum; however, those are no longer options.)

Rabat Expat Housing/Life with an American Dog in Rabat
Posted: Mon January 7, 2008 03:42 PM UTC
We are considering a job posting that would take us to Rabat and wanted to inquire as to the dog-friendliness of this city. We would need a house with a yard. Do expats generally bring dogs to Morocco? Are there places to walk dogs in Rabat? I have read a lot about stray dogs and am worried.

Thanks!!

Hi there all....I hope that you can help me out...
I am going to Morocco here in 3 weeks. I checked through my bank and was suprised by the fee they charged me on the dollar to exchange from American Dollars...to Morocan Dirhams. I just read on the Morocco Embassay Website that there is no commision there in Morocco to exchange my money....is this true?

Would I get the most for my money to do my currency exchange there in Morocco as aposed to at my local bank?

I will be living in the city for 10 months, and would consider renting either a private studio apartment or a private room in someone's home. Any advice that you may have would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know of someone looking to rent out a clean and decently priced place to stay through early August?

Any other advice on what the best way is to go about looking for accomodation?

Wilaya de Rabat-Sale Decent restaurants in Rabat or Sale

We are looking for a nice reasonably priced restaurant to take the family when they visit us in Morocco in April. Daughter doesnt eat meat but would ideally like to go to one that does meat dishes as well as seafood. Traditional Moroccan would be lovely. We would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations on personal experience please. Transport no problem as we are here with our car. Many thanks in advance.

Wilaya de Rabat-Sale Rabat holiday apartment wanted:
Posted: Tue November 7, 2006 08:54 PM UTC
Two recently retired non-smoking adults from the UK and experienced Morocco travellers, will be in Rabat from 13 December 2006 to 15 January 2007. We seek a self-catering apartment/flat in the centre of the city, ideally close to Rabat Ville train station, in the Tour Hassan or French cathedral area. We would prefer a place with lots of light, maybe with a balcony or terrace and with doorman/concierge service. If anyone knows of a suitable apartment we would be most grateful to hear from you. We will be staying at a Rabat hotel on arrival and will be hoping to view apartments from 14 December. References provided. Contact tom.martin9@gmail.com.

Rabat Eid el-Adha
Posted: Tue October 10, 2006 02:43 AM UTC
I was thinking of traveling to Morocco arriving Dec 23 in Casa and departing Jan 2 possibly from Marrakesh... The tentative itinerary was to spend 1 day in Casa and pruchase train tix to Fes... stay in Fes 2 or 3 days and back train to Rabat. Stay one day and fly or train to Marrakesh.. fly out of Marrakesh oin Jan 2 back to USA. However, Eid el-Adha falls tis yr Jan 30 to Jan 1 and reading other posts and http://www.triotours.com/faq/ma/christmas.htm it warns about trouble of traveling during that time. Part of the difficulty is being unable to purchase train tix from outside Morocco and not until days before expected day of travel.. Afraid trains will be booked and I will end up not being able to reach my desired destination.... Any experience on the holiday closings and travel disruptions?... I would prefer if u e-mail reply to rosakontos@gmail.com THANKS!

Wilaya de Rabat-Sale question accomodation Rabat
Posted: Sun April 4, 2004 08:35 PM UTC
Hello, I am going to Morocco alone this summer and therefore I already look for cheap but good accomodation in Rabat which should also be easy to find. Hygenic conditions should be okay though (like
good shower, washing-stuff, clean rooms, beds etc.)
and the staff should also be open and friendly. Maybe
there are even youth-hostels where you can meet with international visitors from all around, would also be easier, since it's my 1st time in an African country.
I hope you can give me more information and help me, thanks in advance,
nice greetings.
steve.
