Hi, I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same situation as myself. I have visited Essaouira and was conned into lending 3600 MAD to help a local guy with an apparent kite surfing instructors course (he didnt do it) only to be told he would not be paying back the money and instead his mother needs it to build a house!?!? I spoke to her and she apologised profusely begging me not to go to the police and in turn promised the money would be returned at the end of last month however she is no longer prepared to return it either. I know there is a process of retrieval through the police/embassey. Can others please advise of any similar experiences.

Hi we are a family of 4 (children are 12 & 17) and thinking of visiting in October.
We were wondering:
1) How is the weather - is it windy/cold in Essouria
2) We fly into Marrakesh we were thinking of staying there 2/3 days and then going to Essouria for 4-5 days - given we don't want to travel too much - is there anywhere else we should include in our schedule ?

can anyone give me advice on how much car hire will be? is it easy to hire a car after we arrive in essaouira?

also we need a cheap riad for 6 people for a week (in july). what sort of price range will this be and is it adivsable to book on the internet or better to turn up and chance it and get hassled by touts.

I am travelling to Essaouira on Friday and I just wondered if there was an ATM machine there or if I need to sort myself out with travellers' cheques/US dollars. Can someone advise?

Also, any tips on travelling to Essaouira with a 2 year old? I am particularly interested in trips to nearby places (we will probably hire a car as we are surfers) that a 2 year old might like?

Hi, I am travelling to Essaouira next week and I am trying to find out what the weather is like. Every site I look up has a wide range of temperature forecast which doesn't really tell me anything. Please can you tell me if it rainy at the moment and is it warm. Do I need a jacket in the evening?

I would like to pre-book a taxi from Marrakech airport to Essaouira on arrival by the late EasyJet (19:20 so missing the last bus). Anyone know of a local taxi company or agency to arrange this in advance with an agreed price and assurance of reliable service?

Our flight arrives at 5pm on oct 16th-could I get a bus from marr.to ess that evening? We're 2 women is it safe to travel in the evening?

Or do we have to take the 16h00 Supratours.
I thought maybe it is a problem because it's ramadan?
My touropperator can arrange a transfer to marrakech but it's to high priced.

Hi my husband and i plus our two girls aged 5 and 2 are visting 4 days marrakech and 4 days essouira in march, what is the best and cheapest way to travel from marrakech to Es and could you recommend somewhere cheap to stay but somewhere that also has a pool. Will weather be quite warm in march to do paddling in sea, or would you recommend a hotel with heated pools? also names of nice restaurants italians etc and any other info would be appreciated and also how much shouls we expect to pay for taxi from marr airport to city centre? and is it poss to book supratour from marr to essouira in advance from uk.

am planning to travel to essaouira from marrakech during Eid al-Fitr and wondered if buses will be running as normal and if i need to book tickets in advance? also what about shop openings? i am travelling with my baby and will need to buy supplies of nappies, milk etc. are the supermarkets open each day during this period?

I'm planning on going to Morocco for about 3 months in january. I don't have much money so am thinking htat rather than travel too much I'm going to rent an apartment in a town and get active. A friend recommended surfing in Essaouira. How much would it cost to rent for the 3 months? Would it be difficult to finda place? What would be a reasonable budget for the time spent there?

I was just wondering about sunbathing in Essaouira - is it inappropriate to wear a bikini on the beach? Or on the hotel terrace (if they have any kind of sunbathing area)? I've also heard it's rather windy on the beach - is there anywhere else to sunbathe, e.g. a swimming pool or something in the area that we could go to? Sunbathing isn't the be all and end all for me, I just wondered whether to bring a bikini with me or not!

I´m getting to Essaouira on Monday with a friend but we dont know much about the place.We want to have a relaxing week but we would like to have some fun also..Do you think it would be possible in esaouira? or may be we would have to get somewhere else. Is there any possibilities of meeting people for example? Any nightlife at all? and we would also like to know about the beaches there and if there´s any place around we should go (another town or something) nearby...Thank you! We are 25 by the way...

How much should we pay to get to Essaouira in a grande taxi from Marrakech? We are a family of two adults and two children arriving at the airport tired with luggage and no Dh ! Is there access to converting money at the airport ? any suggestions ? can I book Supratours buses over the internet? do they pick up at the airport? I would much apreciate some advice. Kate

I am travelling to Marrakech on 14 - 21 March (with my husband) and I thought I would travel to Essaouira on the 16 or 17th March. How easy is it to book accommodation for a few nights, preferably in a Riad. Can I do it when I arrive or can you recommend a site where I can book in advance? I would also be interested in Riads in Marrakech if you have any ideas. I live in the country at home and like fairly peaceful surroundings normally.
