I will be traveling to Morocco in about 6 weeks. Will be flying into Casablanca from Madrid. I have heard many stories of the dunes area and would like to stay a few nites in Merzouga. What is the easiest way to get to Merzouga from Casablanca? And how many days will it take me? Will this travel be safe as I am traveling alone.

I hear from Moroccans how modernized they are and so on. When I go to Essaueria, could I wear my bakini? I really don't want to have to buy a one piece for this trip. . . . Do they sell more conservative bathing suits there? If so, are the prices comparable to here? Would it be a good idea to stay with the Moroccan beach style and buy there?

I will be going to Casablanca this coming June for about a week or so, I am curious where the best place to stay would be. I am a student and looking to spend as little as possible on hotel/hostel. I have found the Youth Hostel, however, my emails requesting information have gone unanswered. Anyone have any ideas?

Also, it would fun to get out east and see the dunes or the Desert. I am not sure of transit times as far as bus or train and was wondering if anyone knew the easiest way to get a glimpse of the Sahara and possibly get a camel ride.

I was wondering if you can give me a hand. I have about 3 days to spend in Morocco where I'll be landing in Marrakech. I know its not much time, but would you guys suggest spending 2 days/1 night on a camel tour as I feel when else would I ever have a chance to do this again - or - spend the time travelling and visiting the cities - Marrakech, Casablanca, Tanger. I figure I arrive on a Sunday night around 6pm to Marrakech where I can visit the city a little and then take the tour on Monday/Tues.. On Wed. I have to make my way to Tanger to catch a ferry to head to Malaga to catch another flight on Thurs. morn.. Any suggestions would be great.

I would like to know what is the earliest time possible on Tuesday to see the market very lively as I have to leave as early as possible for the south. Second, is the trip to the sources of the Um Rabia worth while? How long is the way there? Is it possible to keep south from there to Midelt?

I am looking to take a group of approx 15 music journalists to Imlil area in October 2008 to hear traditional music. I want to find a place that is within about an hour on foot/mule, a simple but tasty traditional lunch outdoors e.g. Berber omelette, brochettes and salads etc, and all importantly a group of local musicians who can perform Ahouach music and dance during the afternoon with trad instruments and costumes. Can anybody recommend a good English and French speaking local contact who might be able to supply food and music and venue? The group will be heading back to Marrakech after lunch.

I will be flying into Marrakesh in July. I will spend 3 days there and then want to head to another city. I am flying with Easy Jet so my options are to fly out of Casablanca and Tangier. Which is a better option? I would like to see either Fez or Casablanca, but reading the other posts, it seems Fez is more interesting. So, I guess I am asking what I should do with the limited time and where should I fly out of? And how do I get between the cities quickly?

As a result of the replies from my previous questions, my friend and I are now heading for chefchaouen. I did a little research and reading up on the town and it seemed quite interesting and enjoyable. Now all I need is to figure out how to get there. I was reading that a bus can be taken from tangier to chefchaouen or even a taxi. What exactly are the timetables for this trip? Also roughly how long does the trip between the cities take? Since we are flying in and out of tangier, we are on somewhat of a time schedule. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a cheap but nice place to stay in chefchaouen? My friend and I (two young women) are planning to travel to morocco, first stopping in tangier and then traveling on to casablanca. We do not really have any idea which cities are the most interesting and possibly safest. Is it more worth while to stay an extra day in tangier or casablanca. We have three days. Would other cities like fes, meknes, or rabat give us a better experience into moroccan culture? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Our ship docks in Tangier for one day. We have a tour scheduled until 1pm; the ship doesn't leave until 8pm. What is our best option for a camel ride on the beach? I've read that if we go to Tangier Beach you can ride a camel, no reservations required. Is that true?

My friend and I are going to Morocco in 5 days time and flying into Marakesh airport. We're going to be staying in Agadir.
We thought that we might be better getting a taxi then attempting to navigate our way around the Moroccan transport system and as we're a little nervous about not having a male in our party.

Does anyone know a good prebooking taxi service that would take us from Marakesh to Agadir? Or would it be better to attempt to organise this at the airport?

Hi. I will be flying to Casablanca. I have very limited time and I can see one extra city. I am thinking of going to Marrakech but it is a little far away from Casablanca. Are there any other cities you would recommend or shall I stick to Marrakech?

One more thing... Is there a night train between Casablanca-Marrakesh?

Hello! My travel buddy has done some research online and has found a private 2 person travel package for 1090 euros for 4 nights/5 days from Marrakech to the desert, including hotel/camel trek/tent/food/driver/tour guide. They have said we have to pay 350 euros via Western Union and we thought that was a bit sketchy. For prebooking from the States, do you think there are more reliable methods or is that normal to send cash rather paying for a deposit via credit card?

i'll be in marrakech from may 8-12 for a wedding, ive never been out of the u.s. before and im wondering what people;s views on tattoos are? my entire left arm is covered with tattoos, is that offensive to people in morocco and/or should i keep them covered out in public?? also, im assuming it will be hot, are sneakers/shorts/t-shirts okay to wear?

We have booked the Sofitel Hotel in Agadir during May this year.My husband is confined to a wheel chair.We have now found out that the hotel is miles away from the town.IT isnt easy to get into a taxi, as his wheelchair cannot be folded.He needs to get into a vehicle whilst staying in his chair.
Is there any thing between the hotel and the town?
Will we be able to use the promenade?
How far away is the town from the Hotel?

I'm traveling to Morocco and I was planning on buying a knife or blade of some kind as a souvenir. But I don't know whether it's legal or not or if I'll even be able to get into the airport on my way back (and yes, I know I can't and am not planning to put it into the in-cabin luggage ;).

There probably shouldn't be any problems with bringing one of those swiss knives with the scissors and a file and all that.

Does anyone know what the law says on that?

I am new to VT but have an urgent request.

I have booked our honeymoon in Morocco: flying in and out of Casablanca and have 12 nights to spend in total.

We want to make it the trip of a lifetime - so what are the must-dos?

We are in our early 30s and physically fit - so we'd like to do some trekking; spend a night in the Sahara, stay in some Riads; lie on a beach; be pampered in some Hammams; eat some fantastic food.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I"m doing a brief stop over (6 hours in casablanca) and want to drop off my baggage somewhere so I can explore the city more easily. Does anyone know fi the airport has lockers one can rent? Alternatively are there places I can drop off my bags/suitcases? Anyone know. Please advise!

We're going to travel around for 18 days in the South of Morocco; start and end in Marrakech.
We want to go to Asni/Imlil, Telouet, Draa Valley, Dades/Todra gorges, Desert trip/Erg Chigaga (?), Ammeln Valley(??) .... and .... (other nice valleys/areas and berber villages)
We can easily do it by (local) bus and taxi?
Or do you advise to rent a car (for couple of days)(in Marrakakech or Ouarzazate)
