Plovdiv 2-day trip in Plovdiv
Posted: Sun June 21, 2009 10:25 AM UTC
Hello, we will soon visit Plovdiv and stay for about 2 days, then heading to Veliko Tarnovo, we have the following questions:

1) is it possible to visit Bachkovo Monatery and Dryanoro Monastery in the same day
2) how to get to Eastern Rhodopes? Any guided day trip for that?

3) bus schedule running from Plovdiv to Veliko Tranovo.

Thank you very much.

Plovdiv Hardrive data transfer service in Plovdiv, or Varna, Bulgaria?

Hardrive data transfer service in Plovdiv, or Varna, Bulgaria?

My laptop just died in Bulgaria, but the HDD is still working. I have a new laptop, but I have a large music collection still kicking on the old hardrive. I need to know a few shop names where they take out old hardrives, and transfer the contents to new ones. Thanks.

If professional hardrive data transfer isn't the answer, I would like to hear alternative ideas? Someone suggested taking out the HDD, and placing it in a exteneral hardrive case, and then connect the case via usb, in effect turning my old HDD into a huge flash drive. It sounds a lot of better, and a cheaper (free) option, but what if it doesn't work? Chances are I'd lose the contents of the drive if something went wrong (i.e. incompatibility).

Plovdiv Museum at Plovdiv airport...
Posted: Wed February 6, 2008 02:47 PM UTC
Hello all
I've heard this airport is closed most of the year and only open during the skiing season and that it is a military airport most of the year. Is this true?
I heard there is a very good aviation museum attached to the airport. Does anyone have any pics or links to this museum?
I'm keen on visiting the museum but it's a real problem trying to get from Dublin to Plovdiv without stopovers.
Does anyone have any good ideas how to get from Dublin to Plovdiv. I've searched the website of a company called Flightime which seems to fly from Dublin to Plovidv and back but i can't make any headway with their website. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards

DG

Plovdiv weekend in Plovdiv
Posted: Thu December 27, 2007 07:06 PM UTC
In september 08 we (8 men, age mid 30) are visiting Plovdiv for a weekend.
We like to go out, but we dont want to be among kids. What can you recommend us? In this weekend we also want to see something of the city and its surroundings. Do you know a good guide who offer a full-day excursion?

Thanx! Paul

Plovdiv Contact email for PBI hostel anyone?
Posted: Sat August 4, 2007 01:49 PM UTC
Hello all.
I stayed in this hostel last month and i'm trying to contact them. Does anyone know if they have an email by which they can reached?
I did manage to find the following address on the net info@pbihostel.com but it is invalid.
It was hard enough to even get in contact with a staff member when i stayed here so its hardly surprising that they are difficult to get in touch with on the net!

Regards to all and thanks in advance for your help

Plovdiv Luggage storage in Plovdiv?
Posted: Mon June 4, 2007 05:48 AM UTC
Hi,

I'll spend one day in Plovdiv and take the overnight bus to Istanbul. Is there a place at the bus station (or somewhere in the city) where I can lock up my backpack for the day? I wouldn't want to carry it around the whole day.

Thanks.

Hello,

The URL of the Plovdiv famous potter Georgi Dimitrov Genchev's web site, known to date as <www.genchev-potter.dir.bg>, does not work any longer.
Has it been moved to another address?

Plovdiv Other things to see/do other than historical stuff?
Posted: Sun November 5, 2006 08:00 AM UTC
Hi,

Just wondering... I've been through the 'things to do list' and it seems that in Plovdiv the only things to do is see historical sites or go shopping... do I have the right impression or is there anything else to see/do? We are considering going for a week and I think a week of monument visiting would be too much... and we don't really shop on holiday because we stick to a low budget.

Are there any other suggestions for things to do? .... even if perhaps we can get a train to any nearby villages/cities...if it doesn't mean spending half the day on a train of course!!!

Thanks for any help!!

P.S. Probably around Jan/Feb we would go.

From the http://www.bdz.bg/ website, it shows that the train is running from Plovdiv to Pamporovo... Can anyone please give me the route of this train? As i cannot understand why it passes through Septemvri when it is out of the way. Me and some friends should be staying in Pamporovo in December-January season and i am currently looking for transport means to go to Sofia and other places in Bulgaria apart from using buses and taxi..

Plovdiv Plovdiv in Sept/Oct - Socks and shoes or flip flops?
Posted: Wed August 30, 2006 03:00 PM UTC
Hello

This is probably a silly question but please forgive me.

I am visiting Plovdiv for 2 weeks - end of Sept/ beginning of October. My queation is, will I have to wear shoes and socks to get into restaurants/pubs in Plovdiv or is it acceptable to wear flip flops? Also, is the weather still warm enough to wear flip flops during this time?

Thanks all

Plovdiv is a day enough?
Posted: Mon August 14, 2006 12:22 AM UTC
This city looks so interesting!

The tentative plans have us arriving duing the afternoon, and staying over one night, and then moving on. (How long I'm actually there depends on the bus schedule!) But, assuming it's about a day, should I plan for more time in Plovdiv?

Thanks for any guidance!

best, Ellen
