Moving to Sarajevo in September Posted: Sat July 28, 2007 10:32 PM UTC
Hello!
I'm moving to Sarajevo in September and I'm hoping to meet some nice people while I'm there. I'll be in the country for a year, I love art and literature, and I love to hike, sail and travel. I just graduated from college and I'll be teaching and researching for the year.
Is anyone else in the area? Any advice? I need to find an apartment, a language school, etc.
Love to meet you all--
Liz

Bus from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik Posted: Tue July 24, 2007 07:39 PM UTC
Hello,
In September we will arrive in Sarajevo. After having explored this city we want to travel to Dubrovnik by bus. I know that Eurolines (Centrotrans) runs a line and that Libertas also has a couple of lines every day.
Are this the only options or are there more private bus companies that run a line between Sarajevo and Dubrovnik.
In Bulgaria there were many private companies, so there was an oppertunity whenever you 'd like to go. Is this also true for Sarajevo ?
Anyone ?
TIA

How to get to Medugorje from Dubrovnik port Posted: Tue July 17, 2007 12:07 AM UTC
Hi
I am in Italy with my family and we want to visit Medugorje. We can get a boat over from Vieste, Italy to Dubrovnik but we don't know how to get from there. I have a 10 year old son in a wheelchair so public transport can be a bit of a problem. Can anyone give me any help or suggestions as to how I can get there?
Thanks.

cost of living Posted: Mon July 16, 2007 06:46 PM UTC
Hi guys, I should be moving in Mostar for an internship around Sept/Oct for 3 months, more or less. Could you give me an idea of the cost of living now? like, renting & eating. I'm not looking for extra luxury things, it's an unpaid internship, so won't be too fussy, but I need to get an idea for budgeting my money.
cheers!

My wife and I will be flying into Rijeka and then hiring a car to drive down to Banja Luka.
Can anybody please suggest a route that will get us there quickly? As much as I would like to take my time and see the sights we are on a tight schedule.
How long will the journey take?
Many thanks,

In Sarajevo for a few days from 3rd August and would like to meet some nice people Posted: Tue July 3, 2007 04:51 PM UTC
Hello World
I´ll be travelling through Bosnia, Croatia and Montenegro in August and will be starting my trip in Sarajevo. I have no idea how long I´ll be staying there as the idea is to take is as it comes. If anyone fancies having a cup of tea with a charming, witty Englishman feel free to mail me. I´m also open to the idea of a travelling companion.
Cheers,
Mr Chris

Sarajevo to Ohrid Posted: Wed June 20, 2007 03:27 PM UTC
Hiya
We are travelling from Sarajevo to Ohrid mid-July but I'm not sure how is best to get there. I know there is a bus from Sarajevo to Skopje Tuesdays and Fridays at 18.30 (is this correct?) and then I suppose from Skopje we can take the bus to Ohrid... What would you suggest? We have train passes so it would be better if we can take the train for the majority of our journey. I know Ohrid is not accessible by train but it looks so beautiful and I really want to catch the Summer Festival.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thank you!!

Currency and trains in the Balkans Posted: Tue June 12, 2007 02:38 PM UTC
Hiya,
I'm going travelling for two weeks next month, starting in Budapest then going to Zagreb, Sarajevo, Mostar, and flying home from Dubrovnik. I want to avoid using my debit card abroad. Could I take my money as Euros and then exchange if I need to? Or should I get money changed into the separate currencies before I go?

Sarajevo to Skopje Posted: Mon June 4, 2007 11:50 AM UTC
I'm trying to find out the best way to get from Sarajevo to Skopje in July. We are buying the inter rail pass so the cheapest way for us to do it would be to get the train, changing at Belgrade. But this seems a bit crazy to me as it will take 22 hours... I'm happy to pay a bit more to get a bus if it is direct and doesn't take as long.
Does anyone know where I can find out the bus times from Sarajevo to Skopje, how long it takes and how much it costs?
Thanks very very much!

Train travel in Bosnia Posted: Thu May 10, 2007 04:04 AM UTC
Is there an express train, from Mostar to Zagreb, that will carry bikes. Or, is there any other to get there in one day for a reasonable cost? We are leaving for Croatia in 4 days so don't have much time to decide whether we go to Mostar or not.

Vucko was my first love.... Posted: Sun April 29, 2007 07:16 PM UTC
Dear all,
while researching my favourite Olympic mascot of all times, Vucko, on the internet I just found a picture of a mural depicting Vucko which must be somewhere in Sarajevo. The pic can be found here: http://www.sandomenico.org/uploaded/photos/Upper/Bosnia/13-04.jpg
Now I will be in Sarajevo in May. Can anybody tell me where I can find this mural, I really need to take a picture. Besides, can you tell me if I can still buy Vucko souvenirs in Sarajevo?
How could I end this posting than with a loud "Thank you Sarajevooooooooooooooooooooooo" ;)

Bus train costs to and from Sarajevo? Posted: Thu April 26, 2007 07:14 PM UTC
I'm trying to budget my trip to Sarajevo... and I can find schedules for transportation, but not costs. Does anyone know what it roughly costs to go:
1) By bus from Split, Croatia to Sarajevo
2) By bus or train from Sarajevo to Budapest?
Finding these costs is driving me crazy!
Thanks in advance!

Tuzla Base Posted: Tue April 24, 2007 05:02 AM UTC
I was wondering what has happened to the Military base known as Tuzla Main / Eagle Base since the troops have moved out.
I am a former american army service member that spent 3 months in Tuzla back in 1999. I left early to personnal reasons.
I would like to take a trip sometime in the future and would want to go close to the Eagle Base Tuzla Main Military Base. Any suggestions?
