Brussels 3 day travel pass for metro and buss
Posted: Mon June 22, 2009 06:17 AM UTC
Hi

First of all let me thank soncerely all the fellow VT'ers for so much help and guidance.

We will be in Brussels from Sep 3 till Sep 6, Staying at Scandic Hotel.
Talking of Scandic, Thanks to H.B. Capri, I got a smoking deal at Scandic hotel - 72Euro per night including breakfast for 2. If any one is going to Brussels they should check the Scandic site. They are running a 3 night special.

Back to my question:

Are there any travel passes for can be used on Metro, bus and tram (if any) , just like the Paris Navigo or Mobilis passes?

Kindly give all the guidance u can.

Thank you all

Brussels Can I buy a senior rail ticket at the station in Brussels?
Posted: Fri June 12, 2009 04:42 PM UTC
This may be a silly question. I am 65 (just) and plan to travel from Brussels to Bruges this coming Monday 15 June. I hope to avail of the great discount for over-65s, but I don't know yet if I can make the trip, or at what precise time. Can I walk up to a station ticket office in Brussels on Monday morning, or do I have to book online to get this discount? Any information warmly welcomed.

Brussels Brussels & Prague in 5 nights...is that too much (please help)
Posted: Mon May 4, 2009 02:56 PM UTC
Hiya!

We are taking the Eurostar from London to Brussels in May and are planning to spend 5 nights in Belgium: 3 in brussels 1 in Antwerp and 1 in Bruges.

We just found out that we can go to prague from brussels for 3 nights. Can we do brussels in 1 and a 1/2 days? (we don't want to be rushing through things)

Would 3 Days in Prague be too much? is prague overrated and expensive? Is Prague a must go place? I know its hot on the tourist agenda

We like to see the main attractions, local markets and local festivels anything cheap or free is great :). Also like to get a feel for the local food and culture.

In both locations can we walk around and find accomadation, for £50 night for 2 people is that doable.

Thanks

Hi Everyone,
I was planning to possibly take a trip to Brugge over the New Year's holiday. For those that have been there at that time, is there anything to do there during the holiday? Are places actually open on New Year's Day? Thank you!!

Brussels How can I get to the Maasmechelen Village?
Posted: Sun April 19, 2009 07:33 PM UTC
Hi everyone!

I was thinking of traveling to the Maasmechelen Village on Friday or Sunday next week. This will be my first trip to Belgium, so I have no experience there yet.

What I wanted to ask was how can I get to this outlet village from Brussels using public transport? Which will be the shortest route? And, if known, how much would it cost for me to go there?

The only route I could find for now was train travel from Brussels to Hasselt and take a bus to the village there. But the whole journey will take more than 2 hours. Seems to be very long.

Can I get there via Brussels airport? I know it is about 80 km from there. I was thinking of train to the airport from Brussels Central Station. But I do not know whether there is any public transport available to the Maasmechelen Village.

Please advise.
Many thanks!

Brussels Please help to cope with Thalys offers!
Posted: Fri April 17, 2009 08:56 PM UTC
Hi everyone!

I am new to this site. Let me thank all of you for writing so much useful and interesting info here.
Me and my husband are coming to Brussels on April 22 and will stay there till April 27. We were thinking of having 1 day trip to Paris on Friday or Saturday.
I tried to book train tickets at Thalys website (www.thalys.com). Frankly speaking, we are searching for some cheap offers. I have found this "Thalys Day" among permanent offers (http://www.thalys.com/be/en/holiday-travel-and-special-offers/permanent-offers/thalys-day). In short, it says that one can have a return trip to Paris for 40e or 80 e. Ticket should be booked in advance. And here comes the trouble. I cannot figure out how to book tickets using this offer.
Selecting "Book" on the left page side it gives me some other ticket prices. I have tried multiple trains/dates/times and never I got the final price of either 40e or 80e for the round trip.
What do I do incorrectly? Do I understand something wrong?
Any feedback and advise will be much appreciated!

Thank you all,
Rina

Hi,

Can anyone suggest the best way to get to Middelburg from Brussels National Airport? I am heading to Middelburg this sunday (29/03/09) and there seems to be some rail work over this weekend and I don't find any available train connection on the Brussels/Belgium rail website.. :(

Does anyone knows if taking a taxi is possible from Brussels-Belgium to Middelburg-Netherlands? and how much will that cost?!

Brussels Train ticket "any Belgium station"
Posted: Mon March 16, 2009 06:34 PM UTC
If I am traveling from Brussels to Maastricht with an "Any Belgium Station" ticket is the ticket valid to the point of the final stop (Vise Belgium) before crossing the Dutch border? I am just trying to establish if I need to purchase an additional ticket from Liege to Maastricht or should it be a ticket from Vise to Maastricht? I know the price difference is maybe 2Euro but no need to spend it if I dont have to.
