I am not interested to buy diamond jewellery but want to see something related as it is the worlds biggest diamond district. Will it be worth a trip from Brussels?

I just posted the same question on the Belgium Forum, because I didn't know
there was an Antwerp Forum. We will be in Antwerp for 10 hours from a Cruise
stop, and would like to go to Bruges for the day. I found 9 train stations
in Antwerp while searching rail travel. Does anyone know which station is
CLOSEST to the cruise docks? Also, how long it will take, and how often
trains run to Bruges? If you know an alternative faster way to get to Bruges,
please make suggestios. We're there on Sunday, September 23.

The new non-smoking law means that I have had to cancel all of my previous reservations.

Now I am searching for a small flat or B&B that permit smoking.

Got an answer from one that looks promising.

Questions:
1. Re the neighbourhood - Is Burchgracht a safe street for a mature woman travelling solo? I will want to go out in the evening for dinner...

2. I am told that it is: "Just 1 minute from the grote markt, the central place of the old town with his city-hall." Would that be an accurate assessment?

A friend and I are studying in Maastricht, Netherlands and wanted to take a day trip this Saturday (it's Wednesday night now) and we were debating between Antwerp, Belgium and Cologne, Germany. Which would be better for a 1 day touring? (probably like 11am - 7pm). I've been trying to do some research on this site, but I bet the pictures don't do either city justice. If someone could give some advice on which one to see and what to see in that city, that would be great. Thanks.

I just came home to Sydney from my 5 weeks long Europe vacation. And I always buy a postcard and fridge magnet from whatever places I visit, sort of little hobby. This time i realised that postcard of Antwerp is missing even fridge magnet is proudly sitting on my fridge as a reminder of a nice day trip to this beautiful town.

Im travelling to Antwerp as part of Easy Cruise. We basically have from 1pm to 2am to see the sights. Can anyone give some ideas as to how to best spend the day. Not really that bothered too much about museums + things mainly seeing things that are unique to antwerp, having a really nice meal then drinks in some nice bars before heading back to the lovely orange boat!!

Any tips would be great!

I will be going to the Netherlands and want to take a short 3 day tour of Belgium as well ... I really wanted to go to Antwerp for a long time and I'm wondering if I can fill up two days or one would be enough ?

Also does anyone know about bus connections between Amsterdam and Brugge ? I tried Eurolines but there seems to be no bus connection to those cities ... any other suggestions ?

Hi I will be travelling to Antwerp on my own in around 10 days time. I will be travelling on my own staying for only one night. I would like some advice on where to go for some food in the evening and then somehwhere I can get a relaxed drink in a friendly/cosy atmosphere. Or perhaps you have another idea.......... I am open to suggestions.

Can anyone please recommend a cheap taverne or restaurant close to the Central Station that is open on Saturday evenings and serves mussels/steaks/etc. It needs to be able to cater for a party of 14. Any help is appreciated, Terry.

Does anyone know where one can park for free of very cheap near the city center? Walking distance is prefered, but a short busride is not a problem either.

I will go to Brussels in August and I would like to have a day trip in Antwerp. What should I definetely see and do? Do you have any suggestions?
