Bike rental logistics Posted: Mon November 2, 2009 05:02 AM UTC
Looking at possibly renting a bike in Brugge around May. I have seen the tourist site and these VT pages with all the info on where to rent the bike. However, how about ...
- How do you lock the bike when you stop to see something ... do they provide a lock and chain?
- Is there threft insurance on the bikes?
Should I just rent the bike to take a ride around and walk to do the rest of sight seeing (if this question makes sense) - that is, just use the bikes to go around the farther areas. Not sure how to safeguard the bike if I stop for a bite to eat or take some photos.

Thinking about Fondue.... Posted: Fri September 11, 2009 10:25 PM UTC
Hi everyone, i'm looking for some foody advice.
Some friends and myself are off to Brugge next month and really want to try some Fondue. I have searched online and most websites don't have a English Language option so i'm struggling.
Has anyone had Fondue in Brugge? Where can you recommend? Is it possible to get a vegetarian Fondue option? and around how much did you pay? (for just fondue or set meal)
I managed to find some prices but couldn't work out if that was the price for two people sharing or the price per person (if it was per person then it was very expensive!)
Also while i'm here, can anyone recommend a good/cheap italian restaurant in Brugge?
Thank you so much for any advice offered :)

Brugge nightlife Posted: Mon August 17, 2009 05:04 PM UTC
Hi,
Myself and a few friends are heading to Brugge next year and we are hoping to take in the sights during the day and enjoy a bit of nightlife in the evening. whats the nightlife like in brugge, is there plenty to do and many good bars? Any suggestions welcome as we are hoping to burn the candle at both ends and cram as much into our days/nights as we can!
Cheers.
Gavin.

Please help me! :) Posted: Mon July 27, 2009 10:51 AM UTC
Dear friends,
I have two nights to spend in Belgium, second one of which will definitely be spent in Brussels. Question is, where should my first night be spent : Brugge, Gent or Antwerp? (considering I'm arriving from Amsterdam by IC train)
Do you recommend doing daytrips to any of the cities i'm not staying at? I'm mostly interested in good sights, nice food, beauty and shopping.
Can you make any hotel recommendations for brussels and my second city - whichever that will be :-) ?
Last thing, what's the distance from brussels to the airport, and how can i get to the airport?
Thank you in advance for all the help..!!!

Boring train question, sorry. Brugge-Charleroi. Posted: Tue May 26, 2009 03:39 PM UTC
Hello.
We are going to Brugge in November(so it is still a long time to go). I would like to know where to check the train schedules and itineraries. We land in Charleroi at night and the day after we would like to go to Brugge as straight as posible...is it "doable" skiping Brussels?
Thank you very much.

I was planning to possibly take a trip to Brugge over the New Year's holiday. For those that have been there at that time, is there anything to do there during the holiday? Are places actually open on New Year's Day? Thank you!!

Train from Brussels to Brugge Posted: Thu April 9, 2009 07:14 PM UTC
I will shortly be travelling to Brugge via Brussels from UK on Eurostar.I know I can use my Eurostar ticket on the train to Brugge, but will it be necessary to validate it before I travel .I know that some European railways require the ticket to be stamped in a machine on the platform prior to boarding with stiff penalties for non complience.Any assistance gratefully received .

Budget accomodatio in Brugge. Posted: Wed March 25, 2009 06:43 AM UTC
Do you know any budget accomodation in town? I've read several tips about hotels and bed and breakfast in Brugge, but prices for accomodations there seem quite costly. I need a single room.
Thanks a bunch.

Bruges to Amsterdam using B Rail Posted: Fri February 13, 2009 06:00 AM UTC
Hello,
I want to go from Bruges to Amsterdam on the 8th of May 09 so i am checking B rail now as often you can get cheaper fares if you book early on.
I could have sworn when i checked a little while ago that if you looked for fares three months ahead you could get one for about 23 EUR one way but when i looked today the cheapest is 44.40 EUR.
Does anyone know if I was mistaken last time i checked or perhaps there was just some special on or something? If it's cheaper to just book a couple of days beforehand I will wait until i get there to buy the tickets.
Many thanks.

Beer festival. Info, please. Posted: Thu February 12, 2009 03:12 PM UTC
Hi all.
Last year we visited Brugge and in one of the bars, one of the locals told us about a "beer festival", or "beer week" hold in that city at mid november...more or less. It looked pretty interesting(we LOVE beer) and as this year we are not going to do a long trip, we would like to go back to Brugge and enjoy the festival.
We guess prices will rise during the fest. so in your opinion, do you think it is worthy to go to that marbelous city during those special days?
Also, are there diferent festivals in diferent cities in Belgium? I guess so, so...is it posible to get a calendar of festivals? This time we would like to visit diferent cities and go to Holland for 2 days too.
Thank you very much.

Not expensive evening dinner-place in Brugge with traditional food and beer Posted: Tue December 30, 2008 07:18 AM UTC
Hello!
I'm going to Brugge in January, so could you help me with some food-places there?
Could you advice me good but not expensive cafe, bar or restaurant in Brugge with traditional Belgium food. I mean seafood, beer etc?
Somewhere in the city-centre?
How much could it cost to have average dinner there?
Thank you!

Summer weather Posted: Thu December 18, 2008 02:26 AM UTC
We will be staying in Brugge for 3 nights in early August.
We usually stay at upscale B&B's, but noted that they don't seem to offer air conditioning.
Is that a problem in mid summer?
If so any recommendations for a B&B ofr hotel with A/C?
Thanks

Boat trip !! Posted: Fri December 5, 2008 07:26 PM UTC
Hey,
A friend of mine and I are planning on going to Brugge tomorrow !! And while going through the travel tips etc, I realised that the boat trips do not operate in December :( Is there ANY way of getting hold of one? I saw the movie "In Brugge" and was really fascinated with the boat ride - given they also did it around Christmas even though its for a moviw, but still - PLEASE lemme know if there is ANY absolutely ANY way of doing a boat trip.
I hope the Belfry is at least open during December for climbing, because the one in Gent was closed. :(
Let me know of other off the beaten track places that you would suggest - :)
Thanks for all the help :)
Cheers.

Breugge:every kind of help is accepted! Posted: Sun November 23, 2008 12:55 PM UTC
Hi everybody!
I was thinking about travelling with soem friends of us to Brssels in Brugge. But my 3 friends (a coupl and his child) cannot go any more... So, everything changed in some days very close to the departing day. We are just 2 of us abroad...still not being sure about going or not...
If we really decide to go we are thinking about staying in Brugge (as we don't have too much money to travel around...by our own... thatīs a pity).
Does anyone has the experience of staying in an hostel in Brugge (central if possible)
Are there things to do for 4 days? Are there things to do for free?
Is Gent, probably cheaper than Brugge?
Thank you very much in advance...
(If any of you need,I can reply the same questions concerning Portugal ;)

Brugges to Sluis Posted: Tue October 14, 2008 02:54 PM UTC
We love Brugges and have visited about a dozen times over the past ten years. On Sunday 12 October we were on an organised coach trip which took us to Sluis and had only an hour or so for the flying visit. On our next trip to Belgium, can we get a bus or a train from Brugges to Sluis? A train would be preferable but we would like to do the trip in a day.
Can anyone help with Bus numbers or Train Destinations?
Thank you.
