Brussels & Prague in 5 nights...is that too much (please help) Posted: Mon May 4, 2009 03:56 PM UTC
Hiya!
We are taking the Eurostar from London to Brussels in May and are planning to spend 5 nights in Belgium: 3 in brussels 1 in Antwerp and 1 in Bruges.
We just found out that we can go to prague from brussels for 3 nights. Can we do brussels in 1 and a 1/2 days? (we don't want to be rushing through things)
Would 3 Days in Prague be too much? is prague overrated and expensive? Is Prague a must go place? I know its hot on the tourist agenda
We like to see the main attractions, local markets and local festivels anything cheap or free is great :). Also like to get a feel for the local food and culture.
In both locations can we walk around and find accomadation, for £50 night for 2 people is that doable.
Thanks

Hi Everyone,
I was planning to possibly take a trip to Brugge over the New Year's holiday. For those that have been there at that time, is there anything to do there during the holiday? Are places actually open on New Year's Day? Thank you!!

How can I get to the Maasmechelen Village? Posted: Sun April 19, 2009 08:33 PM UTC
Hi everyone!
I was thinking of traveling to the Maasmechelen Village on Friday or Sunday next week. This will be my first trip to Belgium, so I have no experience there yet.
What I wanted to ask was how can I get to this outlet village from Brussels using public transport? Which will be the shortest route? And, if known, how much would it cost for me to go there?
The only route I could find for now was train travel from Brussels to Hasselt and take a bus to the village there. But the whole journey will take more than 2 hours. Seems to be very long.
Can I get there via Brussels airport? I know it is about 80 km from there. I was thinking of train to the airport from Brussels Central Station. But I do not know whether there is any public transport available to the Maasmechelen Village.
Please advise.
Many thanks!

Please help to cope with Thalys offers! Posted: Fri April 17, 2009 09:56 PM UTC
Hi everyone!
I am new to this site. Let me thank all of you for writing so much useful and interesting info here.
Me and my husband are coming to Brussels on April 22 and will stay there till April 27. We were thinking of having 1 day trip to Paris on Friday or Saturday.
I tried to book train tickets at Thalys website (www.thalys.com). Frankly speaking, we are searching for some cheap offers. I have found this "Thalys Day" among permanent offers (http://www.thalys.com/be/en/holiday-travel-and-special-offers/permanent-offers/thalys-day). In short, it says that one can have a return trip to Paris for 40e or 80 e. Ticket should be booked in advance. And here comes the trouble. I cannot figure out how to book tickets using this offer.
Selecting "Book" on the left page side it gives me some other ticket prices. I have tried multiple trains/dates/times and never I got the final price of either 40e or 80e for the round trip.
What do I do incorrectly? Do I understand something wrong?
Any feedback and advise will be much appreciated!
Thank you all,
Rina

Getting from Brussel National Airport to Middelburg Posted: Fri March 27, 2009 12:16 PM UTC
Hi,
Can anyone suggest the best way to get to Middelburg from Brussels National Airport? I am heading to Middelburg this sunday (29/03/09) and there seems to be some rail work over this weekend and I don't find any available train connection on the Brussels/Belgium rail website.. :(
Does anyone knows if taking a taxi is possible from Brussels-Belgium to Middelburg-Netherlands? and how much will that cost?!

Train ticket "any Belgium station" Posted: Mon March 16, 2009 07:34 PM UTC
If I am traveling from Brussels to Maastricht with an "Any Belgium Station" ticket is the ticket valid to the point of the final stop (Vise Belgium) before crossing the Dutch border? I am just trying to establish if I need to purchase an additional ticket from Liege to Maastricht or should it be a ticket from Vise to Maastricht? I know the price difference is maybe 2Euro but no need to spend it if I dont have to.

We (2 couples) will be traveling to Brussels in late July for 3 days & need some helpful advice. Where to stay - reasonably priced but nice hotel close to attactions, what to do - never been there, so want to see the major sights, where to eat - etc.
I know this is somewhat vague, but we do want to enjoy all aspects of our stay, and would love to have some good advice and tips. Thanks!!

Hi everyone,
My wife and I are planning a visit to Brussels this weekend and we (well me really!) are hoping to visit Waterloo. Can anyone give me some tips as to how to get there - by public transport?
Also, what bars would you recommend near the centre of the city that have a good selection of beers and a lively friendly atomosphere.
Many thanks,

5 hours between trains at Brussels station at night - is it safe? Posted: Thu February 26, 2009 03:13 PM UTC
Hello All,
I am planning a trip to Bruge and Amsterdam.
1 day in amsterdam and 2 days in Bruge.
I am booking a weekend return ticket from Brussels to Amsterdam for me and my partner.
I would have ideally liked to do Brussels - Amsterdam and Amsterdam to Bruge on the same day but this works out to be costlier.
I am returning the same day to Brussels at about 1 AM but the next train to Brugge is only at 7 AM.
I dotn want to book a room in Brussels. Can I wait int he Brussels railway station for 6 hours?
Are there any risks, safety issues or other problems?
anyonw who has been to Brussels or in Brussels, please let me know if there are any other cheap options available at the station.
Thanks in Advance

Outlet malls or one Euro shops Posted: Sat February 21, 2009 12:40 PM UTC
I am a new comer to Brussels. Just I would like to know is there any outlet malls available where I can buy cloths or any other stuff like eletronics can buy for inexpensive/reasonable prises? For example:, In USA, we can find several factory outlet malls where we can buy cloths from different brands like Nautica, POLO, Old Navy, etc., shoes from NIKE, Rebook, Addidas, etc. And also SONY, BOSE, etc. In these out let malls, we can buy stuff for reasonable prises. Is there any location where I can buy like above.
And also, is there any EURO shops where all the items in the shops available for 2EURO Like the way it is available in US. In US there are dollar shops where you can buy any item for one dollar only?
If you know any thing please let me know and help me.
