After checking and exhcnaging emails back and forth with several dive centers based in Dahab, Sea Pioneer Dive center offered the cheapest prices. They were also very kind and replied positively to our personal request for the diving. So before deciding I wanted to ask if any of you knows this place? Is it as good as it looks? Any other recommendations? I all checked some popular centers such as penguen, fantasia etc but didnt like their options.
Sinai Divers also offers a good price (35 euro per person for introductory dive), would you recommend this one?
Does anyone know how much a taxi from the Airport to the Ras um Sid area (near Motel Street) should cost. We are staying at the Sol Y Mar Sharming Inn. We usually get a free transfer but Numpty here didn't read the small print and it looks like we have to make our own way to the hotel!
Me and my boyfriend are going to Sharm at the start of July. We are stopping in Sonesta Club hotel, does anybody know if this is a nice hotel extra? also how much do things cost outside out the hotel in bars etc for food, alcohol.
We are a group of 3 thinking of travelling to Sharm El Sheikh. We are currently in Cairo and some of the locals told us it is extremely expensive. However we heard that there are world class dive sites in Sham and we really want to go there to do a couple of dives.
Can someone advise if there are any accomodation (as long as it is safe and convenient) in sharm that is near the sea and dive operators. Also how much would it cost us to do a dive?
I am going to Sharm in May, meeting my mother there.
I am looking for some advice in term of the hotel. I am debating on being in Naama Bay or Sharks Bay. I found a nice hotel, reasonable as price, in Sharks Bay (Concorde El Salam). I was wondering if it is worth to stay out and comute every night to the center...Did anyone stay in Concorde el Salam?
Another choice is Hilton Dream Resort in Naama Bay.
Any advice about hotels?
Also is all inclusive necessary? Would a breakfast and a night out in town work better? In terms of prices for drink next to the pool, etc...

We are going to Sharm tomorrow - staying near old town - Ocean Club. Is there anywhere to go running safely? I will want to go for a few miles but don't want to make an exhibtion of myself and am likely to be on my own (husband not a runner!) any advice?
Is there much to do around the docks where the cruise ships dock and/or how far are good lively bars and restarants from here.
All advice would be helpful and appreciated.

Hi!
Can anyone recommend a good, clean budget hotel?
Is there anyone who has stayed at Cleopatra Tsokkos Hotel, the Bay View Hotel or Halomy Hotel?
Would you recommend it or not?
I have just booked and paid for a 7 night all inclusive holiday at the Baron Palms Hotel travelling next month. On the invoice I received today there is a note about a brochure errata that there may be be building work going on. Does anyone know if there is any building work going on, in or nearby this hotel? Needless to say if I had been aware of any work going on I would have booked an alternative hotel. When I made my booking over the telephone with the travel agent there was no mention of any building work. I would be grateful for any info.
Thank you in advance for your help.
the sea? Posted: Tue February 10, 2009 08:12 PM UTC
how u was sayin about ruber sneakers 4 the sea is tht jus to walk in n swin n snorkle frm the beach and is there alot of jelly fish n fish tht cum quite shalow in the waters?
Im one of these old fashioned folk, ok only 28 but still, who believe in learning a bit before i go anywhere.
Iv been to Cairo before but as I was staying with a friend of the family they sent there driver and he fixed everything at the airport, but on 11th feb Im taking my gf to Sharm. We both looking to dive and snorkel.
I read somewhere that we need a visa at airport if we want to dive, is this true, is it expensive and if we dont get it can it be sorted by the Hilton we staying at, as its through them our diving is organised.
Just to say also, Im planning a surprise on Valentines (not proposing, or should I?) I have been emailing front of house manger from Sharks bay who has sorted Breakfast in bed, Champagne, flowers and a meal alone on the beach to watch the sunset with our own waitor for an extra £150 which i think is great and i have to say what a nice guy he is, so very helpfull and it reminded me from my last trip there how amazing the folk are in Egypt, not like the dull, featurelss and unhelpfull folk we tend to get working in hotels here who seem very put out at the simplest request.

Hi, My boyfriend and I are going to Sharm in May, we're staying at the Tropicana Sea Beach and I was wondering if anyone has been before and if so what was it like and if it is very far from the nightlife?
We are also wanting to go Quad-biking in the desert ~ will we need a visa to do this as I think we may need to go out of Sharm?!
