Villach Looking for Accomodation
Posted: Thu June 4, 2009 03:54 PM UTC
Hello,
I am living in Finland. I am coming to Villach and will be there from 24th July to 10th August or even more if possible. I am coming there to learn the Carinthian culture and their language. I chose that period because i know a fantastic cultural festival called "Villacher Kirchtag" is going to happen.
I am looking for any family-based accomodation so that i can learn their culture and practice my German speaking with them. I can even pay as needed or help in any kind of their basic works. Does anyone have any idea? Please give me your valuable suggestion.

Klagenfurt Klagenfurt question
Posted: Mon March 23, 2009 10:42 AM UTC
We have bought cheap tickets to Klagenfurt (Austria) from Gotenburg (Sweden) for the Easter holidays (form 4-13 of april)and were planning to travel somewhere else than, may be do you know some cheap ways to get to Ljubljana, Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Rome, etc around Austria. We are not going to visit these capitals at once, but rather really want to see at least 1-2 countries. Maybe do you know some buses or trains which are coming from Klagenfurt to these cities for acceptable price ??!! thanks in advance!!!!!!! Best regards from Sweden!!!

Klagenfurt Things to do in Klagenfurt
Posted: Thu December 7, 2006 07:46 PM UTC
I will be travelling from Bled and spending approximately 4-6 hours in Klagenfurt, before I begin my trip home to canada.

1.Because my time is short, can someone give me the highlights of what to see and do? I wanted to go on the old town walking tour but unfortunately cant arrive in time by train to do that.

2. Would it be worth my while to rent a car for the day, as the train connections arent that great or wo uld that be more hassle?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Villach Cost of living in Villach
Posted: Sun July 30, 2006 02:54 AM UTC
Hello,
My husband and I are planning to work in Villach (we come from Asia). How much will it cost us to live in Villach if we have 3 kids (9-year old, 4-year old and 4 months old). Can anyone give me a rough estimate of our probable monthly expenses? We will need a place to stay that can accommodate us all and the kids will have to go to school, too.
Any help you can extend to us with regard to this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and best regards,
Elaine

Villach Train and bus connections
Posted: Tue July 4, 2006 05:55 AM UTC
I am travelling between Vienna and Ljubljana by train and I have a very short connection time to change trains at Villach--13 minutes only. Can this connection be made in so short a time? What is the usual distance between connecting trains? We arrive on train #539 at 7:44 PM and then are to connect to #315 departing at 7:57. If we miss this train we have to look at perhaps taking a bus from Villach. Can you provide me a web site that could advise the bus schedules for that route. Your help very much appreciated.

Hello to all travel friends!
My wife and I will be traveling to Kaernten by car and thinking of establishing a base in Klagenfurt in June and July. I would like to find a small appartment to rent. Do you have any experience, knowledge of a web site , that could get me started. The Travel buro sites don't seem to be too helpful with extended stays. Thanks for your input.

My daughter will be studying at the University of Klagenfurt and my husband and I will be traveling to Klagenfurt with her at the end of January. The tourism office recommended Pension Zlami-Holzer. Can anyone tell me anything about this place or could you recommend others? We will be traveling into Klagenfurt by train and do not plan on renting a car, as we have heard that public transportation is very good there. Any help would be appreciated. We will be arriving on 27 January.

Villach Villach-Trieste
Posted: Thu June 16, 2005 06:19 AM UTC
Hi!
Can someone advise on the best way to get to Trieste from Villach? We would be dropping our rental car in Villach and picking one up in Italy. Better suggestions welcome. Our ultimate goal is Rome but the drop off cost (from p/u in Frankfurt to drop off in Rome) was an extra 1300 Euros. Car rental agency gave much better prices for leaving car in Austria or Switzerland and then renting again in Italy. Lugano d/o is also an idea.

Thanks,
Hope weather in your area is better than in Canada this spring.
